Highly recommended for adventurers and beach bums alike!

I decided to pick up some mini shampoos and conditioners when going on a 3 week backpacking holiday to Borneo a couple of years ago, and after a bit of a search through Boots I settled on the Mark Hill Holiday Sun Minis. {Reason for choice} Compared to some mini bottles these are actually a good size, containing 75ml, and came in a good solid feeling bottle. It also had a lid which felt as though it could withstand some abuse before falling off and soaking everything in my backpack with shampoo! The last element of my choice was that it offers some protection from the sun, being that I was going away to a very hot country (in August) and was going to be abusing my hair with a lot of time in the sea as well, I decided that this could only help matters. {Cost} It's not the cheapest around at £1.95 a bottle, however look out for 3 for 2 offers as they tend to crop up fairly frequently in Boots, particularly around Spring time, but they have a habit of remaining full price during summer months. {Use} As hoped my bottles survived the 18 hour flight, as well as the many rickety taxi and boat journies I took in Borneo. The bottle has a press down nozzle, so you push to open it, squeeze some into your hand, and push down to close it again - this all helps to keep the conditioner where you want it and not all over the contents of your luggage! The conditioner smells fantastic, it has a strong fruity scent and I noticed particularly every time I entered water it would linger around the whole group for ages! It helped me feel fresh and clean, even where I was staying in some fairly grotty hostels! I decided to play it safe and gauged my need for use at around one bottle for each week I was away. I actually ended up washing and conditioning my hair every single day on this holiday, and got through around 2 and a half bottles - this works out quite nicely on the 3 for 2 deal in Boots, as I had also invested in the shampoos which lasted at almost the same rate. The conditioner did what it was meant to - it left my hair feeling soft and healthy, and I actually had a fair few comments as to the condition of my hair considering the environment we were in most of the time out there (hot, sometimes windy, limited shower facilities, and lots of sea use). The only down side to this product is that it can be somewhat difficult to get the last bits out of the bottle when it has nearly run out. {Conclusions} I would highly recommend this to anyone going on holiday and wanting to take mini toiletries - they are light, compact, and can withstand a good deal of abuse without breaking. The conditioner smells great, and leaves your hair feeling healthy and clean. One bottle lasted around a week on my fairly long and very thick hair, and did well against a lot of sea salt and diving abuse!

Such a shame this product stinks so bad!

My flatmate is as bad as me when it comes to shopping in Boots! I never thought I would meet my match but its great cos like me she can't resist picking up bargains and rather often on certain things she will buy me the bargain as a treat too! We both ended up with a small bottle of this a couple of weeks ago as she got it on offer in said Boots for £1.00 a bottle. After a warm summer playing on the beach my hair (and hers) was looking a bit worse for wear so I couldn't wait to use mine to see if it would revive my mop! The Packaging: This comes in two sizes mine (and my flatmates) is the smaller, more handy travel size of the product being 75ml. The bottle is sort of a square shape which is see-through plastic and it has an orange transparent plastic twist on/off lid to the top of it concealing a flip-top dispenser under that. On the front of the bottle and in an orange colour I am told that it is Mark Hill, Holiday Hair, Aftersun Intensive Conditioner - UV protection. Other information stated on the bottle includes being told a bit about the product and how to use it, size is stated (as I've listed already), ingredients are given and contact details for Mark Hill are stated. Nice bright packaging this is. Using It: Well all you do to use this conditioner is wash your hair with shampoo first and then to smooth a a blob of this runnyish white, glossy liquid through the hair. It distributes through and on the hair with total ease and you can feel the silkiness given and not in a greasy way. However.... this stinks and both me and my flatmate absolutely hate the stench of this! After using this conditioner my boyfriend did say that my hair smelt really odd which made me in the end stop using it as I felt paranoid! It has a sort of light floral and coconut aroma and that isn't the problem. There is like an overtone of a drain smell that wafts over it! Believe me its just horrid and even when hair is dried off and styled that smell still lingers on the hair for ages afterwards and I absolutely hate it. This is all a big shame though as the conditioner itself is rather great. You can use this as a preventive treatment before letting UV rays bounce off your hair of course and it really does make hair feel soft, smooth, supple and with a healthy natural shine to it and in my opinion it even keeps frizz at bay too. For dried out parched wind swept hair this is also a great replenishing treatment reviving tired hair and making it easier to manage once again and giving it omph and shine. However no matter how much I like the effects of this on my hair I can't stand the pong of it sadly. If Mark Hill sort the yukky fragance out of this I would be more than happy to bulk buy this treatment....until then I won't be buying it again or recommending it! Available in all good chemists and supermarkets etc and the size I owned is the 150ml size and costs £1.95 normally and the large size is 250ml and costs usually about £4.99 a bottle.

Shiny smooth and protected holiday hair

Mark Hill Holiday Hair Aftersun Intensive Conditioner 75ml £1.95 from Boots Mark Hill says: "Mark Hill Holiday Hair Aftersun Intensive Conditioner replenishes essential moisture and restores health and vitality to the hair. The unique Aftersun Conditioner leaves hair hydrated, soft and tangle free making styling easy. For optimum results use as part of a regime with the Mark Hill Holiday Collection range." This product is designed to give hair the same treatment as you would your skin after exposure to the sun which is why aftersun is included in the ingredients, which is quite a good thing as it can be used to protect your scalp from burns as I always seem to forget to apply sunscreen to my scalp. The bottle is only 75ml in size so perfect travel size for your suitcase and is the perfect size for a weeks holiday. As with the shampoo, this condition is absolutely gorgeous smelling and once hair is styled you smell like coconut which always makes me feel more summery. The condition is also really good as de-tangling hair which I always find a problem on holiday. This is the perfect suitcase size and would definitely recommend to kept hair smelling, looking and feeling nice after all that sun exposure. This is a definite must have for anyone going on holiday. To be honest the size and price, I will probably still buy it even if I go on holiday somewhere it is not sunny as at least I will smell like summer.
