The product im talking about today is one from his dry shampoo range, specifically the holiday hair one. Now this dry shampoo is for removing dirt impurites like grease, sand, salt and chlorine- all the things we pick up on our hols. It is enriched with vit E to strengthen hair and also has UV filters to protect the hair from sun damage. Natural extracts of Boswellia Serrata help to clense the hair and scalp. It comes in a 150ml metal bottle and costs £4.99 online or in Boots.
Firstly you cant miss the bottle or loose it... its bright ORANGE!!! I was actually given this product when someone I'd made friends with on holiday went home, she said she had found it useful around the pool and beach. when using this product it sprays about 15cm in desitance and is very fine. It smells rather faint and it is a bit like hairspray but with a twist of muski-ness. Directions are;
1-shake very well before use
2- spray onto dry hair from about 10cm away and leave for 2 mins
3- brush out
Now I do it this way but because I have thick hair I like to do it in layers. It goes on to the hair white in colour and after 2 mins when you brush it out I found it was still white!! I looked like someone had tiped flour over me!!!!! So I spent another 5 mins trying to brush it out and then I gave up and wet my hair to wash it out..... first time = fail. Since then I was a bit sceptical, however I have tryied it again because it might of been how close I sprayed it or maybe I left it on too long.... but actually no, everytime Iv used this its left white marks in my hair. Now I have bright red hair, so with the white patches I looked very silly. I think if you have blonde hair or maybe even light brown you might get away with it and it would be ok.
I'm very glad I didn't pay for this item, as I used it 4/5 times and now its just sitting in my bathroom. Iv used other dry shampoos in the past and not had the white patch problem so my conclusion is it is just this one. it looks pretty and has a famous name...... but does NOT work.
So i wont be buying, and i advise others not to as its a massive let down!
Thanks for reading and rating.
Mark Hill Instant Glamour Dry Shampoo
£4.99 at Boots
This is from a range at Boots called Style Secrets which is a range of essential hair products. The can is white and very stylish with pink writing on it. This product is loved by celebs such as Fearne Cotton and essential for any camping/music festival, which is the reason I bought this.
I originally tried Batiste dry shampoo and although it is good this Mark Hill one is so much better. All the bad points in Batiste dry shampoo is eliminated in this Mark Hill one. First of all the spray is a really nice smell, like shampoo which is what it should be, not a stale odour like Batiste. Another point is that the shampoo, once sprayed, does not go on white at all and is so easy to blend into your hair, regardless of the colour. I also think that this dry shampoo gives a volumising effect and works sort of like a hairspray as it holds in place all day. I use this product quite frequently, usually on in-between washing days.
Overall I would definitely recommend this product. It has a really nice fruity smell and leave hair looking shiny and freshly washed. A must have for getting ready quick. The only downside I would have is the price. It is quite expensive at £4.99 compared to Batiste which is under £2. However, I still feel that this is so much better and an essential item for my hair so I would buy it again.
