      Advantages

      Disadvantages

First off, the cute little container caught my eye very pretty colorful print, and second, it actually DOES work! every time after I'd shower, my hair dries and gets all curly wavy frizzy ridiculously uncontrollable, because of that I straighten my hair EVERY day, and after I used this shampoo & the conditioner, I actually have GREAT results, my hair dried and its straight, its not pin straight looking like I straightened it with a straightener, but its a natural straight. I love it, definitely recommend it, and definitely sticking to this product!

      A shampoo that delivers

In the January sales this year, I picked up a couple of bargains, one of which was a set of Mark Hill hair care products from his Straight-a-holic range. As I'm forever seeking the elusive hair straightening products, I decided to give it a try, and have been very impressed with the results.

At full price, the shampoo will set you back £5.49 for a 250ml bottle, so it's not cheap. Boots are currently running a "2 for £8" offer on Mark Hill hair care products, so if you're interested, now would be the time to stock up. The shampoo rests on a flip top lid, which is reasonably easy to use with wet hands, and also allows you to get the very best value by using every last drop. It's what I call "gravity friendly" packaging.

So, onto the shampoo itself. I'm not overly bothered about the fragrance of shampoo, as long as it smells clean. This is exactly how I would describe this one, it's a clean smell, however I don't attach too much importance to this because it's rare that my hair ever retains the smell of hair care products. The shampoo is clear in colour, which took me back a little as I'm used to either white or coloured shampoos, but again, it's not something that bothers me.

The experience of using this shampoo is no different to any other shampoo. It doesn't lather as well as others I have used, but personally I tend to concentrate on my roots and allow the suds to cascade down the rest of my hair (it's quite long), rather than getting obsessed with trying to cover ALL my hair with shampoo before rinsing. It rinses out perfectly well, and leaves hair with that squeaky clean feeling.

Now for the important part....the results. Whenever I use this shampoo, I use it in conjunction with the other products from the same range, namely the conditioner, and straightening spray or cream. So, I can't be certain whether the shampoo would have the same effect if used on its own, but used with the matching conditioner it gives excellent results. My hair is almost completely frizz-free after using this, but more impressively, it actually gets rid of the kink I have in my hair which can cause it to look untidy. I have a natural kink around chin height, and sometimes my hair falls nicely with it looking almost intentionally wavy, other times it just looks like it hasn't been styled and needs straightening. This shampoo eliminates the kink completely, and it looks like I've straightened my hair after using this, and my hair feels lovely and soft when brushing it.

I'm a big believer that if you use the same products continually, your hair gets used to them and you'll stop seeing the benefits. For this reason, and also because of the price tag, I only tend to use this shampoo when I'm going out or want to make a special effort with my appearance, mainly at the weekend. I'm not really bothered what I look like in work, and sometimes I quite like the wave in my hair as it gives it a bit of volume. I've been saving this shampoo to use at weekends and for nights out, when I want my hair to look its best. On this basis, I could probably justify another bottle when the one I have runs out.

I'm really impressed by this range from Mark Hill, and reviews of the matching products are to follow soon.....
