For as long as I can remember my Granny has always told me that I need to use a good, strong, solid hairbrush to protect my hair from ruin and to keep it in good strong healthy conditions. I have always followed her advice because like me, my Granny had long blonde flowing locks throughout most of her life, the only ways in which we differ is that I have mine trimmed, something she would never agree too and I use hair straighteners which were not available in her days. Mason Pearson is a name synonymous with hairbrushes for me, I remember when I turned 10 years old being presented with my very own brush which was just like Granny's and even today I still have ... I am quite a believer in buying well in items that will be used all the time. So for example, whilst if I was buying a fancy dress costume, I doubt I would care if it were high quality or long lasting as it would only most likely be used once or twice, things that are used on a regular basis, are, I feel, worth spending the extra on. Therefore, for things like toothbrushes, hairbrushes, straightners and so on, I prefer to get a high quality brush and the Mason Pearson name has always been deemed the best of all hairbrushes and has that traditional old fashioned air of quality. They aren't all that readily available. They have a shop up on Bond ... Read the complete review

When I was a teenager I had a very good friend who I used to go out with to various societies, and she would often stay at mine, and we would get ready for a night out. I always admired her lovely long hair, and she had a brush which caught my eye at the time. This brush was a Mason Pearson which was given to her at birth by her grandmother, and I was amazed to see it looking just like new over 18 years later. I had short hair at the time, but over the years grew it and always thought one day I would treat myself to one of these lovely brushes. Time passed and my two daughters were born, and I decided to investigate these brushes to see if I could buy them one ... Read the complete review

Wow. I had one of these hairbrushes all my life, and I wouldn't have anything else (I am now 27). I have always been lucky enough to have long straight thick hair, and these brushes are fantastic. They can wade through the tangles and knots, to leave hair lovely and smooth. For me hairbrushing is done infrequently and always more of a chore, this brush makes it more of a pleasure and really is a joy to use. Mason Pearson brushes are an old fashioned staple, they were introduced to me by my granny, who also had used them for many years. They are a tad more expensive than some other brushes but for a lifetimes work, they are definately worth it. I ... Read the complete review

I have only ever used Mason Pearson brushes on my hair. As a small child my mother used this exact brush, it was hers when she was younger and she brushed my hair with it until I was about 6, then she bought the larger version for me which I used until I was about 20. Then I bought one this size again as its more portable and 15 years later it is still going strong. This brush is expensive, infact I was shocked to see how expensive! I think I paid about £25 for my last one, the junior, with the cleaning brush to go with it (you can also get it without) although sadly I'm not sure what I've done with the cleaning brush, I think it got lost in a move.
