Wow. I had one of these hairbrushes all my life, and I wouldn't have anything else (I am now 27).

I have always been lucky enough to have long straight thick hair, and these brushes are fantastic. They can wade through the tangles and knots, to leave hair lovely and smooth. For me hairbrushing is done infrequently and always more of a chore, this brush makes it more of a pleasure and really is a joy to use.

Mason Pearson brushes are an old fashioned staple, they were introduced to me by my granny, who also had used them for many years. They are a tad more expensive than some other brushes but for a lifetimes work, they are definately worth it. I believe the designs originate from the 1920's which means they really are tried and tested and I reckon one of the most popular of the market.

The brush has a thick, chunky plastic handle and base. The handle is so comfortable and fits in the hand well. I believe they do make them different sizes, and produce some suitable for children.

The bristles are attached to a rubber padded base, and can move around as necessary of the base, to move with the contours of your head. The bristles are just scratchy enough, to feel like their doing some good, but not so much that they hurt. The bristles on my brush are nylon and boar hair, which are nice and firm, and can cope through the tangles.

I would highly recommend these hairbrushes to everyone. They are available in many chemists and larger health stores. You have to think of them as an investment, as around the £30 mark, they are dearer than some, but you really will use them forever.

Summary: No other hairbrush will do for me
