Nice gel - but not for blondes (Molton Brown Soft Control Hair Gel)

Why oh why do manufacturers not think about those whith blonde hair or streaks when they make hair gels?

Even the most sensible companies, like Molton Brown in this instance, seem to leave common sense at the door when they take it into their heads that this or that product would look nice coloured green, blue or whatever.

If you have dark hair that's no problem at all - but put coloured gel in blonde hair and what do you get? At best hair that's a muddy/murky blonde that looks as though it needs a good wash - at worst lumps of green or blue that looks like something is going mouldy on top of your head!

Green, of course, is the worst offender - and this hair gel from Molton Brown is a particularly tenacious green - if your hair has any blonde in it - then forget it!

If you have dark hair, however, this is a very nice hair gel indeed. It's firm enough to slick back strands into a 'ballerina' pony-tail or get a wet look finish; but it doesn't go really stiff and crispy.

I also have a friend who swears by this as a styling aid to use before heated rollers; and it's often just about the right amount of control for blokes' hair.

It has a gorgeous smell (which does seem to last at least a few hours) and I love using this on other people, but I really don't want my white-blonde streaks to go green thanks very much - manufacturers please take note!
