Anyone who regularly reads my reviews will know I love soft, shiny hair and so much is my fascination that I'm always buying hair conditioners of late lol My favourite one's are the one's I buy in sachets. There are loads of brands that sell these and I buy a couple a week as a 'treat' to pamper myself with before a hot date or something! They make me feel good and I enjoy using them!
One brand I'm not overly keen on is Montagne Jeunesse. I try and avoid anything to do with the brand anymore as I got very disappointed with the results they give (usually none lol) and I'm not just talking about the hair masks but also the face ones!
However this particular product normally costs £1.29 a go and I got mine in Superdrug (also available in Boots and places like that) on offer for 20p! So although I'm not overly keen on the brand at all at that price of course I was swayed to try is as I didn't have alot to lose after-all lol
Oblong plastic (silver foil on the inside) recyclable blue and white sachet. On the front there is a photograph of a black lady with her hair in water floating. I'm told the product is 'Perfectly Pampered, Spa Hair Mask, Mandarin & Grapefruit Oil, De-Stress & De-Frizz'. Then there is some drawings of some fruit and under that I'm told the product contains 'fusions of marine & plant extracts' then there is some information in a foreign language (I don't understand) and finally the weight is stated which is 15g.
On the back I'm told it is Montagne Jeunesse and they are against animal testing and the product is vegetarian standard. I'm then told a bit about the product, how to use it, ingredients are listed, care & safety instructions are given then all the information is given in foreign languages I've been told already, the recycle symbol is shown, contact details for Montage Jeunesse are given and finally there is a bar-code on there. It's ok packaging and very informative but not exactly eye catching.
About The Product (According To The Back Of The Sachet)....
For silky-smooth hair, treat yourself with this citrus de-frizzing mask. Energizing extracts of mandarin penetrate hair cuticles to relax and repair hair, while fragrant grapefruit oils refresh and moisturize. A powerful mask for beautifully tamed locks.
Instructions For Use....
Shampoo and rinse hair. Use both hands to smooth the mask evenly through hair from roots to tip. leave for 1 minute and enjoy the zesty aroma of citrus oils as the active ingredients penetrate you hair. Rinse out and towel-dry hair.
Well opening the plastic packaging is simple as there is a small tear you just pull gently. You are met by a slightly opaque light pink liquid that feels very soft and moisturising on your fingers. You can smell the zest of the grapefruit but it's slightly sweet rather than being harsh or overly fruity.
I apply mine on to washed hair and I ring my hair out with my hands, apply it (with both hands, massaging as I go) and leave it on my hair for about a minute. It goes on smoothly and there's plenty of product given (my hair is below shoulder length and I have well enough and some more let over!) and it goes on as a pinkish cream that vanishes into hair and goes slightly oily so you can feel where you've coated with the product. Hair when its on the head doesn't feel that soft but not greasy or dry either.
Well it's very easy to rinse it out. Hair though doesn't feel softer and any knots you had in hair prior to using it are still left there when your done. Hair however doesn't feel full of any greasy residue after rinsing and hair certainly isn't dried out or anything like that but my hair simply feels no better or worse for using this product. Hair isn't limp but it isn't full of life either. It isn't a frizz buster or anything either so any of your usual problems will still sadly be there after using this.
Hair is left smelling nice, fresh though but over-all I feel that this is a waste of a minute out of my day! It's not terrible and won't harm your hair but I wouldn't define this as a treat at all!
