“ Brand: Modern Organics / Type: Hair Shampoo / What it does: moisturizes „
I'm not brand loyal when it comes to shampoos and conditioners, I'm happy to use whichever products happen to be on offer or seem to be the best value. I also tend to splurge on premium haircare products and then just use them occasionally so that they then feel like an indulgent treat.
The most recent premium haircare products that I purchased were the MOP Mixed Greens Shampoo and MOP Mixed Greens Conditioner. I've used other MOP hair products before and really liked them, and so I was happy to give the Mixed Greens products a try. The MOP Mixed Greens Shampoo is £13.60 for a 300ml bottle, I bought mine from John Lewis, but they also sell MOP products in Selfridges and Harvey Nicks as well.
MOP stands for modern organic products. MOP products are not tested on animals, and don't contain any artificial fragrances - the only fragrances contained in MOP products are those created by the organic fruit, vegetable and herb ingredients. Some of the MOP products are even suitable for Vegans, the Mixed Greens Shampoo is one of those which is suitable. Mixed Greens Shampoo is paraben free and gluten free, it is not however sulphate free.
The Mixed Greens Shampoo comes in a squarish shaped bottle with a flip top lid. The squarish shape makes the bottle easy to hold and use in the shower with wet, soapy hands. The top of the lid is flat, so that when the bottle is nearly finished you can stand it upside down on its lid, which I like because it then makes it easy to get the last few bits of shampoo out as it will naturally settle at the lid end, I like to ensure that I use every last bit of expensive products so that I can feel like I'm getting my money's worth!
The bottle states that it's for normal to dry hair, my hair is probably normal and maybe just a little on the dry side so this is perfect for me. Mixed Greens shampoo contains cucumber, artichoke and watercress as well as extracts of certified organic parsley and alfalfa, tossed with olive oil and apple cider vinegar.
The shampoo itself is quite a thick and gloopy shampoo, and I do really only need a very small amount of this to create a very rich and foamy lather in my hair. It is very easy to rinse out and it leaves my hair feeling nice and squeaky clean in the shower. This feels like a very gentle shampoo, and it feels really soothing and moisturising on my scalp when I wash my hair with this. This feels really moisturising on my hair as well, as sometimes some shampoos can feel like they are stripping my hair of its natural oils, but not so with this one, this one feels like it's actually adding moisture and nourishment to my hair.
This smells lovely, you'd think from the very weird list of ingredients that it might smell a bit odd, however it doesn't. It has a really clean, fresh and and refreshing fragrance, I can pick out the cucumber specifically in the fragrance, but I can't really pick out anything else. It smells really natural and fresh, not artificial at all. The clean and refreshing fragrance fills the bathroom when I wash my hair, and it lingers in my hair for absolutely ages, I can still actually smell this in my hair the following day.
Once my hair is dry it feels and looks very healthy and very clean after using this shampoo, and it is so superbly soft and shiny after using this along with the Mixed Greens Conditioner. I find my hair to be just as easy to style after using this shampoo, in fact I probably find it easier to style as it feels in such good condition, and is so soft and shiny. The shampoo along with the conditioner seem to smooth and tame my hair, it's less flyaway, and it's certainly much sleeker.
Although this was very expensive for a shampoo, a little bit of this really does go a long way and the bottle will last me for ages as I do only use this occasionally for a treat. I love the fragrance, and the fact that it lingers in my hair for so long. And finally I'm more than happy with the condition that this leaves my hair in. I'd certainly repurchase this. In fact I'd probably use this all the time if it was cheaper.
The daily routine of lather and rinse never worked so well / Dry processed hair is bathed in moisture / Mixed Greens shampoo contains cucumber artichoke and watercress as well as extracts of parsley and alfalfa / Tossed with olive oil and vinegar / Dry hair will eat it up /
