A hair miracle
Member Name: fudgey05
Advantages: Fab at treating damaged hair, leaves hair smooth, shiny and more manageable.
Disadvantages: The screw cap means it is easy to over-pour! Also price is a little expensive
At the beginning of the year I decided to change my hair colour from dark brown to a light golden shade...what a disaster! While I hoped for JLO esque golden hair, I instead received a heftly hairdressers bill and orange straw like hair.
Following this disaster I had to have quite a lot of the snapped ends cut off and I have also tried endless treatments and deep conditioners in attempt to help my damaged locks. I can honestly say that this is the best treatment that I have used, and it is definately worth the money. I was recommended the product by the hairdresser who dyed my hair back to a darker colour, and I have to admit I was very sceptical and only bought the product through sheer desperation.
As I wasn't sure about the product I bought a 25ml bottle which cost £15. After a little internet searching I discovered that you can buy a 100ml bottle from Amazon for around £27, I would definately purchase this in the future rather than in the hairdressers.
The product comes in a small glass like bottle with a screw cap. The oil itself is a fairly thick consistency, I would describe it as being slightly thicker than olive oil. The hairdresser recommended that you apply a fairly substantial amount to towel dried hair then just style in your normal manner. My hair is pretty thin and can be a little greasy, so I find this leaves my hair a little greasy. Instead, I apply a relatively small amount; about the size of a five pence coin. This is a tiny amount compared to what the hairdresser applied but I find it sufficient for my hair type.
Before using the oil my hair felt extremely dry and straw like, and I found it difficult to even comb my hair. Even after the first application I couldn't believe the difference that it made, my hair was back to being smooth, healthy and shiny. I have been using this product for around three months and I still have about half a bottle left as I only use a small amount at a time, and I definately have fewer split ends and damage. While I have been using a variety of products to help treat my hair, I am confident that the Moroccan Oil is a contributing factor to it's healthier appearance.
The only disadvantage to this product is the silly screw cap top which means that I always pour too much and then have to try and pour it back in! Apparantly, the new versions of the oil have a different cap which is easier to use so this criticism only applies to my bottle. I also have discovered that there is a version for thin hair which isn't as heavy. I would probably stick to the original version, however, as I can use less of it and make it last longer!
I would recommend this treatment to anyone with dry or damaged hair, who wants it to become healthier and more manageable. I would definately have a little hunt around the internet however and not purchase from a hairdresser, as it can definately be found at a more affordable price.
Summary: A lovely treatment which really works.
