“ Brand: Tesco / Type: Hair Shampoo „
As you may have seen from a previous review I have recently been trying the Tesco My Senses shampoos and conditioners. Recently I tried the Tesco My Senses Shampoo Celestial Shine, I chose this particular one as it matched the conditioner that I purchased. As with the conditioner I had no idea what this particular shampoo was going to be like but I was drawn in by the cheap price tag and the promise to leave my hair extremely shiny, after all if it wasn't that good I hadn't waste too much money on it.
The Celestial Shine Shampoo comes in a curvy transparent green plastic bottle, it has a slightly darker green lid on top which simply flips open and clicks shut again. The front of the bottle has a clear plastic label on it which contains information about the product. the majority of the label on the front of the bottle is covered with a multi coloured swirly pattern, written over the top in white writing is the name of the product "Tesco My Senses Shampoo Celestial Shine", just beneath this is a sentence about the shampoo and what it does, and in the top right hand corner is a red circle with the word new written inside it. There is not a massive amount of information on the front of the bottle but it says what you need to know. The back of the bottle has a darker green label on it and this contains further information about the product such as the ingredients, warnings and information about the product, this is all written in white writing and set out so that it is easy to follow.
The Shampoo is of a reasonably thick consistency, although it is a little runnier than the conditioner, whereas the conditioner is a milky green colour the shampoo is a transparent green. Again I was a bit concerned about the smell of the shampoo and whether I was going to like it, I had had a quick sniff in the shop but you cannot really tell until you use it. I used a small amount of the shampoo on my hair and worked it into my wet hair until it lathered up, I was pleased to discover that it lathered up really easily and also that it smelt lovely. As with the conditioner the fragrance of lemon was very dominant in this shampoo and it smelt even more like sherbet lemon sweets than the conditioner. I found that with this shampoo I only needed a small amount in order for it to lather up which makes it very long lasting. I did wonder whether I would need to use quite a lot of it as I have thick hair which is bleached but this was not the case. Rinsing the shampoo from my hair was very easy and quick, I have used shampoos in the past which seem to take forever to rinse out and this is something I particularly hate, however it took no time at all with this shampoo allowing me to wash my hair quickly and efficiently. Even after I had rinsed my hair I could still smell the lovely lemon fragrance which made my hair smell lovely and fresh.
Price and Availability
Obviously this product is available in Tesco with it being one of their own ranges, as I have said what drew me to this product was the price for a 400ml bottle it cost me just £1.68. Personally I thought this was an excellent price, I did wonder about the quality of it, however I would say that the quality is excellent for such a low price. The product is also very long lasting too.
The Tesco My Senses Celestial Shine Shampoo is definitely one I would recommend, I really liked the way it smelt and how it made my hair feel extremely clean and fresh. The shampoo promises to leave your hair extremely shiny and combined with the conditioner this was the case, after washing my hair with the shampoo and conditioner it did look shinier especially once I had straightened it. The shampoo is of an excellent quality for such a cheap price and has also proved to be long lasting, it lasts much longer the conditioner, however I do need to use a lot of conditioner on my hair, but I did find that shampoo lasted much longer than some other brands I have tried. Overall this is an excellent quality shampoo that does what it says it will, I will certainly be buying this again and would recommend it to anyone.
