I received this Neal & Wolf Daily Ritual Conditioner as a gift from a friend when I was going through a bit of a rough time. I had not heard of Neal & Wolf before so I had to look them up online to see what they were about and I found out their philosophy is quite interesting. They believe in products that work for everyone, so have a range of just 10 different products, rather than a different shampoo and conditioner etc for each possible type of hair, keeping things simple. The conditioner costs £11.95 for 200ml or £23.95 for a massive 950ml.
The packaging is quite expensive looking, which I think it needs to be at this kind of price! It's a plastic tube with a flip top lid that it stands on which means that, assuming you store it this way, the conditioner is always ready to come out of the tube. It has a flip top lid which makes it easy and convenient for in-shower use.
The first thing I noticed about the conditioner is the very sweet, floral, highly perfumed scent. I really don't like the scent at all, it reminds me of the kind of cheap perfumes I used to play with when I was a kid, and it's far too strongly perfumed for a hair product in my opinion, it could easily give me a headache if I left it on for too long.
The consistency is on the thin side for a conditioner, it feels smooth and light and massages easily through my hair. I find it spreads really easily which in turn means just a small amount goes a long way. It is recommended to leave it on the hair for 30 seconds, so that's what I do, and it then rinses out really easily. My hair is left feeling clean and fresh and not weighed down by product.
Once my hair is dry it feels really soft and smooth and it does look very healthy and shiny. It's easy to comb through and to style, and it isn't left feeling fluffy as often other conditioners can leave it, which just makes it a nightmare. I often get pretty bad flyaways and frizz towards the ends of my hair, particularly when I blow-dry it, but after using this there are practically none.
I find this doesn't detract from any body created by my shampoo, it doesn't weigh my hair down, and it doesn't make it get greasy more quickly, which some others do. I'm actually really impressed with it, I was sceptical about their 'one size fits all' type philosophy, but I find this works really well on my super-fine hair which is normally a nightmare to find the right products for. I'd defintely recommend it, it's just a shame it's so expensive!
