Advantages: It only takes 10 minutes to set
Disadvantages: The colour, the applicator and the colour fades!
I first saw this product advertised on the ITV show 'This Morning' where the lady testing it rated it 10/10! I thought brillant! The dye only takes 10 minutes and had a prefect rating on tv. I will definatley try this when i dye my hair next month.
I purchased 'Perfect 10 9A Light Ash Blonde' from Boots costing £6.84. The box contained a tube of high gloss colour creme, a bottle of colour activating creme, tip applicator, prefect colour comb, gloves and a tube of colour seal intensive conditioning creme.
Your hair has to be clean and dry but not freshly washed. Preferably washed the night or day prior to the day you want to colour your hair. You start by squeezing the whole tube of high gloss colour into the bottle of colour activating creme. Then place the cap back on the bottle and mix by shaking the bottle well for a minute. Then remove the cap from the bottle and replace with the tip applicator. Pop the supplied gloves on and part the hair into two sections and start applying the colour to the roots and grey areas first.
All of which i found very simple to do, once you've applied the colour to your roots the instrcutions then tell you to remove the tip applicator and replace with the comb applicator to evenly apply the remaining colour to your length and ends of hair. But its not as easy as it sounds! As once you have applied colour to the roots the comb would not glide through the rest of my hair as the comb just kept getting stuck and tangled up. It was completely useless!
So i just removed the comb and replaced the tip applicator back to colour the rest of my hair. After 10 minutes i washed the dye off and applied a 10 pence size amount of conditioning creme to my hair. Which they tell you to use once a week for upto 6 weeks after you've dyed your hair to keep it looking shiney and full of colour.
After drying my hair and taking a look at the end result in the mirror i was horrified to see my hair was now a bright yellow/orange brassy looking colour! Nothing at all like the colour on the box! And the texture of the hair felt a little greasy which i can only assume was the conditioning creme. Even though i applied the correct amount.
Only 3 weeks after i saw that my the colour had already faded, the brassy yellow/orange had luckly gone! But i had visible roots again, the colour had just gone! So i was very disappointed in this hair colouring creme. And would not recommend it to anyone!
I have also posted this review on beautyjudge under the username of mariagti.
Summary: A disappointing waste of money

- 21/08/09 I now see a pattern; there's something wrong with Nice n' Easy Light Ash Blonde shade!
3 months ago, my mum purchased this very shade, but not Perfect 10, the semi-permanent one that only stays on for 20 washes or so (fortunately). She chose the light Ash Blonde EXACTLY because she thought it would give her a subtle cool blonde result. She called me later to tell me she ended up with "bright yellow" hair, and I could not believe it; I thought she did something wrong in the process, or had used some henna product or whatever. After reading your review I am gob-smacked!!! |
