Advantages: Smells Great
Disadvantages: None
A friend recently gave me a bottle of Nicky Clarke Colour Therapy shampoo and conditioner and complained that after use, her hair was full of static. Although I?m a loyal user of Laboratoire Garniers Fructis shampoo, I?m willing to give anything a try once ?especially when it?s free! Nicky Clarke?s ?Colour Therapy? range is a range especially created to enhance the colour of our hair. There are four variants in the range: - Sweet Like Chocolate (for brown/black hair) - Blonde Goddess (for blonde hair) - Take It As Red (for Red Hair) - Goodness Greycious (for Grey Hair) Having dark brown hair, the variant I used was ?Sweet Like Chocolate?. So here?s a bit about the product: > Packaging The Colour Therapy shampoo comes in a clear tall slim bottle, cylinder in shape with a chunky cream coloured pearlised cap, which you push down on one side to reveal a hole on the opposite side for easy dispensing. On the front and back of the bottle is a cream coloured label containing information about the product. > Contents The shampoo itself is deep brown in colour with a hint of red. The consistency I?d say is quite think but not so thick as to cause any delay in dispensing. > Application Once dispensed and rubbed in the hands, the shampoo lathers a small amount but much more so once massaged into the hair. The lather has a slight tinge of reddy brown. > Fragrance The shampoo has a lovely rich mouth-watering fragrance combining sweet chocolate notes with notes of juicy citrus orange and tangerine, the fragrance really fits the product, smells indulgent and gives the feeling that you?re rubbing rich brown colour into the hair. > Rinsing The lather rinses out of the hair quite well but after it appears to have gone you can still see a tinge of colour in the water so I tend to rinse a little longer than usual. Many shampoos at this stage I?ve found can leave the hair feeling quit
e knotty but this shampoo seems to leave my hair relatively knot free. After rinsing I?ve followed on by using the Nicky Clarke Colour Therapy conditioner, which is loaded with colour pigments and requires a really good rinse after use. After drying I?m left with really soft shiny hair and fortunate for me ?no static. I?m not sure if the shampoo has any effect in enhancing my hairs colours but the pigments in the conditioner I?m sure help in making it look an extra rich and shiny brown. The hair smells sweet and almost edible but the citrus notes aid in making it smell really clean. The Nicky Clarke colour shampoo and conditioners cost between 4 and 5 pounds a bottle. They?re very much a ?Me? product and not something you?d let the rest of the family use, it?s given me great results and therefore I think they?re a definite good buy.

- 01/03/06 Great review.. I totally agree, this is a great product and has been one of my faves for a while. I too have dark hair so also use Sweet Like Chocolate and I've found that nothing leaves my hair looking and feeling in better condition!! Only down side is I find it hard to find places that stock it other than larger Boots stores.. Do you know of any where else I can get it? Vic x x |
