Advantages: not many.

Disadvantages: sxeveral.

i bought mine from Boots during the christmas sales 07 for a good £19.99. theyre quite good, go up to a high tempreture but don't last long. I've only had mine for a bout a year but already the ceramic on the plates has work off meaning i don't get the shiny smooth finish on my hair. instead it comes out a bit static. Moreover, the wire's disconnected meaning it only works if i hold it at a certain angle. this is extremly annoying because it means i have to hold it in my hand while it's heating up! it used to heat up quickly but now takes longer. it does not have a good grip on my hair and the area where you hold it can get quite hot. i would reccomend that you don't drop it, for instance when it slips off the table etc. my friend has this straightner as well and hers no longer works. I'm now looking too buy a remington one. this is not worth it and i would no reccomened it to anyone. i will never be buying nicky clarke products again.

Summary: not very good at all. Had mine for a year and it's stopped working. DO NOT BUY
