Advantages: They were cheap.

Disadvantages: Takes ages to straighten hair, hair doesn't stay straight, not really kinder for hair.

I have had these a few months, and bought them from Argos for around £20. The appearance of them is quite good: they are black and red with black plates. The size is handy as they aren't too big to put in your bag to take travelling.

These straighteners go up to 230°c, so I very much doubt the claim "kinder for hair" can be justified. There are 5 temperature options, but only number 5 (the hottest) seems to be adequate enough for straightening my hair.

It takes a very long time to straighten my hair using these, which could probably be solved if the plates were wider and perhaps longer (as they aren't exactly big). When I straighten my hair with these, my hair also doesn't stay straight for long which is very annoying and makes me question what the point is in using them in the first place!

When buying Nicky Clarke straighteners, I thought they would be very high quality as it is such a well-known brand! However, I have been very disappointed with this purchase and will probably think better of buying another Nicky Clarke product in the future.

Summary: Even at £20, these straighteners aren't worth the money.
