Advantages: sleek, shiny and extremely straight hair

Disadvantages: none

For extremely shiny, soft , straight and sleeky looking hair
these straightening tongs are fantastic.

My hair is about shoulder length and quite dry, now when it's freshly washed because my hair is really thick it sometimes has a dendency to go slightly curly, especially on the ends, even frizzy at times if i go out in damp weather and the hour iv'e spent styling my hair was a waste of time because it just looks like a hurricanes been let loose on it.

Iv'e tried loads of products from frizz ease to detangling serums, which yes make my hair straighter but it does'nt seem to last for very long.

Anyway I thought i would try a pair of straightening tongs and i purchased the Nicky Clarke straightening system from Index price 19.50, you get a 200ml bottle of nicky clarkes hairomatherapy supershine heat protection spray, which you use on dry hair and apply before you start to straighten your hair, you also get a really good de-tangling brush.

The tongs themselves are really easy to use, they are like a pair of scissors , and the anodised plates get extremely hot so watch your fingers.

You start with a piece of hair about 5cm thick and place the tongs at the root line, once your hair is hot slowly start to pull the tongs down the length of your hair, you apply more pressure by holding the outsides of the tongs firmly together, you feel how silky and smooth your hair becomes as your ironing it out, leave it on the end bits a little longer though to ensure no quiffy bits develop.

I have to say that my hair stayed very straight all day and kept its nice shining gleem, it did'nt curl in the damp either, by the time i had wasted all my money on bottled products i wish i had purchased this first, i would have saved a pretty penny, so if you have tried everything else give this product a go you won't regret it.

Can't decide which of these to buy, but this sounds the best so far. Good opinion, thanks.

I have been looking for a miracle as well as my hair is alot like yours but longer. My friend had on called futura and can be purchased from toni and guy but is £45.It is truely amazing though and is probably the worlds best product so if yours breaks be sure to give this one a try coz it is mind blowing. I dont know if they sell it in toni and guy anymore ,anyway so if i cant get that one I know which one to buy thanks to you.

Hi great review, but i was wondering if the straghtners had a comb attatched so to speak - to keep the hair taut while you straighten?
