Nicky Clarke's Intense Defense Curling Tong Spritz Red Carpet Style

Having received one of the new Babyliss curling wands for Christmas I also needed some product to use alongside these as my hair does not hold curls very well due to it being so thick and heavy. I have tried a number of creams and serums that you put on your hair whilst still wet but these do not work for me. I needed a product that you spray on your hair just before curling so when I came across Nicky Clarke's latest curling tony spritz from his Red Carpet Style range I thought I would give it a go.

      ~ Red Carpet Style ~

This is Nicky Clarke's range of products that help you to create that perfect hair style that you thought only models and celebrities could achieve - well their hair stylists anyway! The range is used by Nicky in his salons, on photo shoots and various red carpet events.

      ~ Packaging ~

This looks much more expensive than it really is due to it's deep red packaging. It really does stand out from other products on the shelf especially with the bold gold text against the red.

The bottle is small and chunky which makes holding it a little difficult especially if you have small hands. There is a lot of information on the back of the bottle including directions of use, a paragraph about Nicky Clarke, list of ingredients etc.

The spritz has a pump action spray which is easy to use and dispenses just the right about of liquid to coat but not soak your hair.

      ~ Instructions for Use ~

Start from the nape of the neck pinning the rest of your hair on top of your head so it is out of the way.

Make sure your hair is completely dry before spraying small sections of your hair.

Do not soak your hair, just dampen each section of hair before curling. This will help you to achieve longer lasting curls.

~ How well did it perform? ~

I followed the instructions as shown on the bottle. I started at the bottom of my hair and worked my way up. I found that I had to use at least two squirts on each section and the residue was slightly sticky on my hands and skin. There was a slight crackle my the curling wand due to my hair being slightly damp from the product. Upon released the section of hair the curl was tight and stayed in place. I repeated this for my whole head of hair.

The product is not heavy on your hair and my curls did not feel hard like other products make them. They had a slight firmness to them but they looked natural and full of shine. Providing there is no moisture in my hair the curls do not drop at all. If the air is a little damp I am left with loose waves but still a very pretty finish. My hair even stayed curly the next day which is a real achievement for my hair.

It also has built in heat protection so you know that it is helping to protect your hair from becoming damaged from your heat appliance. I think my favourite part is it is very easy to brush out. I hate it when you use a product that is very hard to remove even after a few washes. So Nicky Clarke's Intense Defense Curling Tong Spritz partnered with the Babyliss Pro Curling Wand is a great partnership to help me create the looks I want without any hassle.

      ~ Price and Availability ~

I purchased the Curling Spritz from my local branch of Savers for just £1.99 for a 150 ml bottle. I have not seen this anywhere else other than Amazon and that is quite expensive at over £5. Especially when my first bottle lasted me just 4 weeks but that was using it almost everyday.

This is a product that I am very happy with and have already purchased it again and will continue to do so in the future. It was my first purchase from the Nicky Clarke range but I am willing to try others as this works so well.
