“ Brand: Nicky Clarke / Type: Conditioner / What it does: Smoothes, „
One thing I use daily on my hair after washing it (if nothing else) is a leave in conditioner. I am prone to a very dry mid section and dry split ends. I can't extra condition my roots usually as they are really prone to going as greasy as hell even after just freshly washing it.
As I am prone to dry hair and my hair is naturally wavy (and actually a bit curly in places) one thing I do suffer with is frizz so when I saw a leave in conditioner especially meant for frizzy hair and called 'Smooth it over' by a brand I am aware of (Nicky Clarke) in my my local Poundland store I was unable to resist it as I thought that was a bit of a bargain!
This comes in a silver plastic bottle with a white frosted lid that goes over a matching push button sprayer (not aeresol). On the front of the bottle we are told that it is Nicky Clarke Smooth It Over Frizz Control Leave In Conditioning Spritz 'For Really Rebellious Hair'. On the back of the bottle we are told a bit about the product and how to use it, the ingredients are given as is the size which is 150ml and contact details for Nicky Clarke are given. The packaging is nice, simple and informative enough and is actually rather unisex in its apearance.
A Bit About The Product According To The Information Given On The Back Of The Bottle:
Smooth It Over is all about keeping it straight - no its, no frizz, no fuss, this range keeps hair sleek and shiny, banishing flyaways and enhancing condition.
Available in every Nicky Clarke salon, this high shine, leave-in conditioning spritz delivers results from roots to ends for thick, frizzy hair. By smoothing each strand and adding a lightly protective barrier to help guard against the heat styling damage of straightening irons, frizz is dramatically reduced with astonishgly smooth results. So, even the most rebellious hair can be transformed into a lustrous curtain of healthy-looking, sleek, shiny, manageable hair, day after day.
Well the spray itself when sprayed is like a very light thin white coloured lotion with a beautiful and slightly floral fragrance to it which isn't too strong or in your in face, just really pretty and fresh smelling really and after having on the hair a couple of hours that fragrance disappears.
Your meant to spray this liberally onto hair after washing it (even if you use normal conditioner) and you can use other products to style with as well if you want to.
However I find this stuff brilliant to not only condition my hair with but to style it too and then I simply 'set' my do with a little hairspray and I'm good to go!
Like I just stated I used a lot of this and your meant to. I spray it at arms length at my hair and making sure I evenly coat all of it and then I simply comb it through and then I get to drying it with my hairdrier.
This is simple to work with, lightweight and a none greasy conditioning mist. Like I stated earier I am all too prone to greasy roots, but this doesn't upset them at all but its still takes on dry hair and really does smooth it out and banishes frizz and for as long as you have the product in your hair too! It doesn't straighten hair of course so if you use hair straighteners to achieve a straight look usually you will stil have to, however if you want a curly/wavy look you still can do that with this in the hair and I use a curling iron for that and once again this keeps my hair frizz free and smooth.
I like this lightweight, easy to use and totally effective product very much indeed! It really works for me, my hair feels really smooth, I get a nice but still natural sheen to my hair and it feels great. Needing to use a lot of it per application if you have to pay closer to the £8.00 price tag this usually carries (online and in the Nicky Clarke salons) it won't last all that long, especaily if your hair is longer than mine and mine isnt all that long being just above shoulder length but for a pound this offers brilliant value and is superb!
I bought mine in Poundland and have often seen this in discount stores round and about.
