Advantages: Pleasant smell, good on washed, wet hair.
Disadvantages: Not hugely effective on stubborn, dry tangles.
- What is this? -
A detangling spray that can be used on wet or dry hair. There is no need to rinse it out and it 'helps leave hair tangle free, soft and shiny'.
Mild and gentle with an orange scent.
Suitable for all hair types and frequent use. This is simple to use, just spray on to hair and comb or brush through.
- Packaging -
This comes in a 250ml vibrant orange bottle with a lively picture of a large smiling orange with huge bright eyes!!
The spray is dispensed through a push down nozzle on top of which is a plastic transparent top / lid which does actually stop the nozzle from accidentally being pressed down.
- Price-
I bought this in my local Morrisons for a very reasonable 99p.
- My Experience -
One of my nieces has an immense aversion to getting her hair washed or brushed and since she has extremely thick hair, the tats and tangles are very much apparent. I have a great dislike of unkempt hair in children so every time I visit, I insist on washing her hair and de-tangling it which doesn't make me overly popular but she is becoming more positive about the whole process.
~ On wet hair
Once using a good conditioner her hair isn't very tangled but when this spray is applied then it does allow the brush to go through her hair without any pain which is a huge positive.
~ On dry hair
When time hasn't allowed us to wash and dry hair before popping out, I have tried this spray, giving a good coverage of it.
If we have brushed her very thick hair without sectioning it off then this spray isn't an effective de-tangler, but when I have sectioned it off and sprayed separate areas then it has been quite effective.
It doesn't work on large areas of tangle or tats but on areas that aren't too bad then it does indeed leave her hair soft and smooth, not shiny as stated in the 'bumph' but certainly much neater than prior to using it!
~ The packaging
The fun style packaging with the big smiley face on the front appeals to children which I suppose is the aim of it. The nozzle hasn't become blocked or clogged up which is the experience I have had with some hairsprays I have used.
~ The smell
It has a pleasant orange based smell to it but not too over-powering which is a plus.
- Overall -
A good price when compared to other de-tangling products which I am yet to try but have certainly read some positive reviews about.
In my opinion the low price reflects the effectiveness of this product. It works well on wet hair that has already had the additional help of a conditioner but it certainly doesn't turn thick, dry tangled hair in to smooth, soft, tangle-free hair as easily as it suggests on the packaging. The hair needs to be sectioned and it certainly doesn't allow the brush to flow through the hair.
However in it's defence, I have tried this on my hair when it had a slight tangled section and it did brush through easily - just not great with larger, more stubborn tangled hair.
