A great product if you suffer from psoriasis of the scalp. Otherwise, you're probably not interested

I struggled for years with psoriasis on my scalp which was angry, red and itchy and caused embarassing white flakes. I always used gentle shampoos, e.g. baby shampoo / E45 shampoo / Simple etc so my scalp wouldn't become aggravated but, although these were better than normal shampoos, the symptoms would still be awful and the worst thing was the embarassing white flakes all the time, especially at work.

My dad initially bought me this shampoo, and the matching conditioner, after reading a review in the Daily Mail about it. After a few days of using it, I couldn't believe the difference. Ever since I discovered this, the white flakes have stopped more or less completely. I do still have sore patches on my scalp but these are not red and angry like they used to be and do not itch anywhere near as much as they did.

The shampoo doesn't look that appealing, it's a dark brown colour, and it doesn't smell fresh and fruity like normal shampoos, but it doesn't smell as strong as coal tar either. It's kind of an inoffensive herbal smell which doesn't really linger in your hair.

It doesn't contain coal tar, sodium lauryl sulfate (which I think is bad for asthma sufferers??) or any animal products. It basically doesn't have any nasty chemicals in it, it's mostly natural which is why it doesn't irritate the scalp.

It does also leave your hair feeling nice, which is a bonus for a "special" shampoo!! Mine does tend to be oily anyway and this leaves it feeling lovely and soft but I guess if you do have dry hair, it could be different - I don't know!

I always use this with the matching conditioner as they work well together.

A couple of times a week I also use Polytar which is a coal tar shampoo which is slightly stronger but not suitable for everyday use. This shampoo is great for everyday use though, I have not had problems with using it this frequently.

Give it a try if you have psoriasis as you will agree with me that anything is worth a try - and this works for me!
