Best Scent they have, but still not good for damaged hair.

As you know I like Organix and have nothing personal against them, but i''''m not a fan of how their shampoo and conditioning products make my hair feel after long term use. Also their packing is misleading, although they never claim to be organic, the name would suggest it, which is untrue because they still use preservatives. I do however love this particular scent which is incredibly refreshing. The coconut scent is light but still strong enough to make my hair smell good after it drys. If you have dry, damaged, thin or color treated hair but are set on trying this shampoo out, my advice would be to use a deep conditioner after.

      lovely

Whenever I stay at my daughter's house I love sampling her beauty products and one of which I always enjoy using is this coconut milk shampoo as it really is very different to my own standard shampoo!

The bottle it comes in to begin with is even different. It looks like it would be more likely to be a moisturiser or a cream of some form rather than a shampoo as it's a rather squat little bottle! It is white with a gold flip lid. It contains egg in its ingredients which is meant to help with the quality of your hair which is something I remember from my own childhood so it always interests me how it must work.

It's easy to get out of the bottle as it is quite runny and then easy to apply to your hair. My daughter told me not to use much as a little is plenty and she was right it does manage to go a long way once it has contact with water so froths up quite a lot.

The first thing I noticed when I flipped up the lid was the smell. It is of rich coconuts and I thought it was very nice and not too strong so it wouldn't result in me smelling like a Bounty bar!

It rubbed into my hair well and I left it in for a few minutes to nourish my hair like it says it would. After rinsing it out my hair didn't actually feel any different to when I use normal shampoo but there was a faint smell of coconut still lingering which was nice.

Once I had conditioned my hair and dried it I found that it did have a bit of a shine to it and after using this for the whole ten days that I was with my daughter i do think that my hair was actually in better condition so think that the nourishing properties this shampoo claims to have does actually work!

I have since bought myself a bottle and I do enjoy using it because of the smell and also because it does make my hair look better.

It costs £3.99 which I don't think is too bad a price

A great shampoo with a hint of luxury

I was attracted to Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Shampoo the first time I saw it sitting on the shelf in my local Boots's store, it just really stood out on the shelf. It is in a plain wide white bottle with a gold cap and nice clear black print - quite eye catching. Printed on front of the bottle is 'Indulge your senses with this exclusive blend of organic coconut milk to nourish your hair, while ultra whipped egg white proteins help add strength an elasticity, along with weightless coconut oils for hydration and balance'.

This statement really sucked me in and I simply had to give it a go. I was a little put of by the price, at almost £6.00 a bottle it is certainly more than I would normally pay for shampoo but I had to try it...

I was not disappointed. As soon as I opened the bottle I was hit by the divine smell of coconut, it smells almost good enough to eat... You can still smell the coconut in your hair even after drying but it is a very subtle clean sort of smell, not at all overpowering.

The texture of the shampoo is lush, it has a definite 'whipped' feeling to it and lathers up great and has a decidedly luxurious velvety feel to it.

After using this shampoo my hair looked, smelt and felt great. I have quite dry hair so am always on the look out for a product that can provide that much needed extra nourishment and this shampoo certainly did that.

The only negative thing I have to say about this shampoo is that it is quite difficult to get the last bit of shampoo out of the bottle. My normal solution to this would be to turn the bottle on its head for a few minutes before use to let the shampoo run down but as the bottle has a rounded head it is a bit tricky to balance..

Would I try this product again?? Absolutely, it has had pride of place in my bathroom ever since I discovered it.

        A lovely shampoo

Organix are an American company who specialise in producting organic haircare products. It is actually quite a rare product here in the UK and I have only seen it for sale in larger branches of Boots and Sainsbury's. It is relatively quite an expensive range - the shampoo and conditioner are around £5.50 each - so it's quite a bit more than your average high street brand.

As it seems to be a new brand to the UK market, there are only several "flavours" available here. This one, coconut milk and I have seen 2 others (pomegranate and shea butter). On the company's website there seems to be loads of other flavours especially a nice sounding cherry one which I'm desperate to try but I suppose with being a new brand it will take a bit of time for them to get a big enough market here.

        Anyway, back to this product. It comes in a white bottle with a gold cap and the front displays a blurb about the natural products inside;

"Organic coconut milk and ultra whipped egg white proteins along with weightless coconut oil to hydrate and nourish your hair as gentle cleansers wash away impurities".

All of their products contain organic active natural ingredients and are sulfate and paraben free which make them very gentle and safe to use on coloured hair. Their products are also not tested on animals - and not just the end product but all the individual ingredients are ensured to be not tested on animals.

The shampoo inside has a nice, thick and creamy texture. It almost resembles a liquified creamed coconut and it smells absolutely gorgeous too. You can smell the coconut oil and milk but it is not an overpowering smell it's quite delicate but you can still notice it on your hair once it's dry. It's a nice fresh smell and it's not overly sweet or sickly. The shampoo lathers very well indeed and you get a nice thick foam. Once rinsed out your hair feels squeaky clean. After using this with the Organix conditioner to match and then blow drying as normal, I was left with soft shiny hair that smelled lightly of coconut. It did not weigh down my hair or leave it feeling coated with product.

So, will I buy from the range again? Absolutely, although I do wish I could try some of the other more exotic flavours so I can only hope they start selling them here in the UK. I was very pleased with this product though and would repurchase it. It is quite expensive but I think it's better than other cheaper brands and it's probably the same cost as some of these "designer" brands you can buy in Boots etc. so it's within that same price bracket.
