Advantages: Looks good

Disadvantages: Not the best

After using my Original Source/Tresemme combo for a few days (see my earlier review on the shampoo version of this product) my mum arrived home from Tesco with something I wasn't expecting to see. Original Source Almond & Coconut Conditioner. I guess it was pretty obvious that Original Source would make conditioning products that went hand in hand with their shampoo products, but I had never really thought about this and was getting excited by the idea of using it. To be honest though, the Original Source products hadn't really made my hair smell that strongly of coconut yet, so would a double dose of the stuff make any difference?
You know when you've picked up the right brand as your hand wraps around that slanted shaped bottle as is one of the tell tale signs that you have an Original Source product. So that you do not get your shampoo and conditioner mixed up however there is one huge difference, and that is the location of the lid. Whereas on the shampoo you find the lid on the top, you get a rather normal flip lid on the bottom in the conditioners case. In a way, it's actually quite irritating because for one product you just have to push a lid up on the top, whereas for the conditioner you have to pick up the bottle and open this square black lid. I guess it just depends how tired you are from washing your hair, but it must really take it out of me to be complaining about something as simple as a lid.

The squeeze valve that the conditioner comes out of is a lot larger than that on the shampoo, and it's a big circle which makes you wonder how much they are expecting you to use. The directions on the back don't give you any recommendation, in fact the sticker on the back I'm pretty sure is almost indentical to that of the shampoos, and yes they're STILL raving about that rubbing the product in and letting it sit for a while so that you can feel the aromas surround you. After the pressure of Original Source putting a suggestion like that on me, I decided this morning I would try it out for myself and sat in my bathroom as the smells surrounded me. Or maybe not. Whilst the product does foam up nice and thick, and the smell does get a little stronger, it doesn't make me feel like I'm trapped in a coconut like I would hope it to.
Smelling the conditioner it seems like a stronger smell in the bottle than the shampoo, but the smell is mainly almonds. Maybe this product will finally leave my hair smelling stronger than ever? Or maybe that smell just comes from the fact that the texture of the conditioner is a lot thicker than the shampoo, which I found to be runnier than normal shampoos, but there is definitly no calling this conditioner runny. It looks a bit like creamy cats poo. I have to say that I have only used a small amount of the product in my time, but the shape of the bottle is already getting bent out of shape a bit, and squeezing in at the middle. This hasn't happened with the shampoo, which is the same shaped bottle, so I can only sit and wonder why this is already happening with the conditioner.

How does it leave my hair feeling afterwards? Well it is quite smooth, but I don't think it's Tresemme smooth and that does go to show that Original Source cannot beat the brand that is supposedly for the professionals. Whilst my hands keep the smell of the product as well, my hair really struggles to, which is strange considering the time I spent sitting with it soaking into my hair. In fact, I think that direction was a bit of a pain in the ass because it made the product harder to wash out than ever before and no one wants to walk around with flakey Original Source hair. A lot of people wanted to know after my last review what Original Source really is, and what it means by its 100% pure and natural essential oils claim, well here are a list of ingrediants;
Aqua, cetearyl alcohol, glyceryl stearate SE, cetrimonium chloride, prunus amygdalus amara (bitter almond) oil, cymbopogon citratus (lemongrass) oil, ocimum basilicum (basil) oil, prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, cocos nucifera (coconut) extract, cryptocarya massoy, hydrolyzed vegetable protein, behentrimonium chloride, quaternium-91, propylene glycol, hydrolyzed wheat protein PG-propyl silanetriol, citric acid, methyldibromo glutaronitrile, disodium EDTA, benzophenone-1, phenoxyethanol, potassium sorbate, methylparaben, sorbitol, ethylparben, butylparaben, propylparaben, isobutylparaben.

Now I have no idea what that means, but some of you wanted the details so there you go - try decifier that one. I couldn't tell you if that's good or bad, but I'll tell you what - I wish they didn't put it on in such little writing. I don't think I'm as excited about the conditioner as I was for the shampoo, but the product does work - now isn't that the important thing?

Summary: Love this brand.
