So this recently rocked up in my bathroom and I thought I'd give it a good old try. I live with my parents so the purchasing of haircare items is outside my remit and therefore I end up using whatever gets put in the bathroom and it is like some kind of insane hair lottery. This was bought at a chemist for a knock down price of 50p which to my mother seemed like a decent enough bargain to shell out for and thus this review was born.
I have to state that the following paragraph is going to make it sound like I hate this product so make sure you keep reading to find out what I actually think. My major gripe is actually with the bottle and not with the product itself. The bottle that this comes in is a rather standard clear plastic conditioner bottle with a black plastic flip lid and small application hole. This seems okay on first inspection but there is some weird meeting of the small hole, tough plastic and very thick conditioner that makes it practically impossible to squeeze this product out. I've come to actually standing it on it's lid between the bath taps to make it at all possible to squeeze anything out, prior to that I had to use both hands and a huge amount of force.
Phew, now that complaint is out the way let's talk about the product. This conditioner is AMAZING and here is why. It has the thickest, loveliest consistency you have ever come across. It is so minty fresh that my head tingles when I use it. It leaves my hair feeling so luscious and soft that I think I'm in a hair commercial. People have actually commented on how nice my hair both smells and looks after using this conditioner.
Let's go into a bit more detail. So the conditioner is a beautiful light spearminty colour and has the most intense spearmint smell I have ever come across. This does seem slightly at odds with a conditioner and my initial instinct every time is to squeeze the contents into my mouth (luckily that is made impossible for the Fort Knox style bottle). The conditioner spreads across your hair beautifully and actually, if you use enough, produces this tingle of freshness that is just delightful. It washes out easily and leaves my hair feeling so clean, soft and sleek that I cannot help touching it.
Once I've dried my hair it not only feel hydrated but it looks it too. It genuinely must really do something for my hair because since using it I've had countless comments and that rarely happens. Not just that but my hair smells incredible. For a while after I used this every time I turned my head around I would genuinely think someone was standing next to me and eating spearmint polos. It smells so good that I can be found constantly sniffing my own hair...I could go on.
The only thing I am slightly sad about is that I don't know what kind of availability there is with this particular original source product anymore. I've certainly never seen it before and as it was reduced in a chemist I assume it is clearance stock. It doesn't have the up to date original source style packaging and therefore must be an older part of the brand and perhaps sadly no longer widely available.
Overall though I can only really say one thing about this product: 50p well spent mum, 50p well spent.
I cannot complain at the price of this conditioner as i had it as another one of my bargains from pound land.
I brought this because i love the smell of mint and love original sorce shower gel but had never seen this conditioner before.
The conditioner itself is quite thick but doesnt spread through your hair very easily so you do need quite a lot of it but at a £1 i cant complain about that.
After applying it to my hair i noticed my scalp tingling, it is not a bad feeling, quite a nice cool refreshing feeling which does fade after a couple of minutes of washing the conditioner off, which takes quite a lot of rinsing as it is very thick.
The smell is beautiful, because it is spearmint not peppermint it is not a strong eye watering smell but a lovely fresh smell a bit like mouthwash, it lingers in your bathroom for hours and your hair for days.
I wouldnt recomend this conditioner for hair that is in realy bad condition but it left my dyed blond hair feeling very soft and manageable so i have no complaints.
This is new product released by Original Source. As you might already know, Original Source has numerous shampoos and conditioners. But seriously, minty fresh hair??? Rather strange.
This conditioner costs about $12 (online) and the container is about 200 ml. SO i would say, you get money's worth of quantity. The conditioner is great, its makes the skin very soft and super bouncy - from own experience. This is as good as the 'Garnier' Conditioners or the 'Essence' conditioners. The condition is good for all hair types, but is great for people with extra dry and dead hair. The conditioner should be applied always after shampoo, and it is not a leave on conditioner, so rinse thoroughly after use.
The smell, for me really doesn't work... i mean, mint and hair doesn't really work for me.. so the only turn off about this conditioner is the spearmint after smell is leaves behind.. this might be good for some people.. but i personally do not like the smell that much. Original Source's Rose conditioner which is set at the same price has a much better smell.....
Overall.. i Recommend this product.. its good.. and will work great for you if you like mint....
