“ Brand: Original Source / Type: Conditioner / Subcategory: Tan / What it does: Tans, „
After the success of the Original Source Tangerine & Bergamot Shampoo I decided to try out the matching conditioner. Again, it had cost me only £1 in the pound shop so I was impressed with the saving compared to the price of this conditioner in the supermarket (£2.49).
I washed my hair using the Tangerine shampoo, rinsed all the lather off and applied the conditioner to my hair taking care not to rub it into my scalp as this can cause dandruff and greasiness. It is a very pretty pale orange colour and looks very satin-like when I pour some into my hand, this conditioner is very creamy feeling on my fingers. It smells wonderful, imagine fresh oranges with a hint of spice and herbs which I assume is the bergamot oil. It does not have quite the same fresh smell as the shampoo and does smell slightly more synthetic but nevertheless this is a beautiful smelling conditioner which will compliment the shampoo perfectly.
It is easy to rinse out of my hair in the shower and my short hair felt silky and smooth immediately after rinsing. There was no residue or oil left in my hair after I had rinsed, just the wonderful tangerine fragrance.
There was not a tangle in sight when I combed my still damp hair, my hair felt nourished, conditioned and healthy even after just one application of this conditioner. It's a miracle product!
Well, no it's not actually. Within I would say an hour of my hair being dry I noticed how limp it was looking even though I had styled it as I always would. It also looked lifeless even though the conditioner had left a nice sheen on my hair. Then I saw the reason for this, my hair had suddenly become terribly greasy. Now, I had washed and conditioned my hair not 2 hours previously and I had a case of greasiness that was worse than the odd occasion when I haven't washed my hair for a week!
I persevered however and the next time I used the conditioner I applied it only to the very ends of my hair thinking that perhaps I had gotten it too close to my scalp but I had the exact same reaction this time. I think the conditioner is too heavy for my hair and this is why it went so flat, but I cannot understand why it went so greasy as this is a hair problem I do not usually suffer from, perhaps Original Source have been a little heavy handed with the essential oils?
I will definitely continue to purchase the tangerine shampoo because it is a lovely shampoo that really does work wonders, but I will not be buying the conditioner again and it has gone into the bag of 'part used' toiletries I am about to offer on Freecycle.
Yet another £1 wasted on another conditioner that has turned out to be rubbish on my hair, i realy should learn to stick to something that works but cant resist trying something new.
This conditioner along with the shampoo made me smell that strongly of oranges every body commented on it, i know there are worst things to smell of but when your shampoo and conditioner over powers your perfume that realy is beyond a joke.
As a conditioner i was not impressed, it didnt seem to condition my hair at all, if anything my hair was in a worst condition after using this than it was before. It left my hair very dry and very frizzy, looking in very bad condition, i wouldnt try it on my hair again.
Another realy bad point to this conditioner is that it stings your eyes, yes i know all conditioners sting your eyes if you get it in your eyes but i didnt get this one in my eyes it was only on my hair and my eyes were stinging from the smell, they were blood shot and sore when i got out of the bath and took a couple of hours to ease.
I wasnt impressed by this conditioner at all.
