Advantages: Smooth, tangle free hair.

Disadvantages: Confused brain!

Since the credit crunch has well and truly hit i decided to ditch my £5 shampoo and conditioner from boots and see what I could find in Poundland. I have a little wander round and picked up some Nutrogena but I convinced myself i didn't really need it and put it back. I got the bits and pieces I went in for then turned a corner and saw a stand full of Original Source products. Ooooohhh, went the voice in my head. I spotted a conditioner that was a very pale green colour and immediately assumed it was lime, mmm I like lime, said that voice and I duly picked it up and went to pay.

The next night was hair washing night! So I still had some shampoo left so used that and followed with the Original Source conditioner. The conditioner squeezed easily into my hand, this was a bugbear of my last conditioner as it was really hard to get out of the bottle.

So I am standing there putting it through my hair and feeling my hair go all nice and soft as I comb it through and I am thinking to myself, that doesn't smell like lime but I dismiss it as the scent really is gorgeous. After a few minutes the smell is bothering me because it doesn't make sense. I grab for the bottle to realise what I am smelling is white pear. Aaahh! It all makes sense now. The avocado is lost on me but the white pear scent is strong and utterly gorgeous.

My hair is now tangle free and soft and the chemical receptors in my nose are satisfied because my brain now understands it is pear and not lime. I normally find that it takes quite a few minutes to completely rinse conditioner from my hair and I found this one to be the same. My hair is in fairly good condition and this conditioner was suited to normal / streessed hair however my hair normally goes quite frizzy if it is just left to dry but with this conditioner it has gone all nice and wavy with no frizz in sight.

The scent has stayed in my hair and my Husband even commented on how nice the smell was last night. I can still smell it quite strongly from my hair this morning but it is in no way overpowering, just a nice clean fresh smell.

This conditioner is branded as damage limitation and contains UV inhibitors to strengthen hair and protect from "urban damage". Now I live in the country but still feel that it is applicable to me!

Original source products can be bought from most pharmacies and supermarkets and are generally a few pound. My purchase from Poundland was, well you guessed £1 so a great credit crunching bargain!

This conditioner is not tested on animals, is suitable for vegans and the packaging is recyclable so is a good choice for those who want to know they are doing there bit for the environment too. The pack states that is you know someone who needs damage limitation then they can go to www.originalsource.co.uk for a free sample.

So go on - give it a try! Its free!

Summary: A good inexpensive conditioner
