Advantages: makes you hair soft, doesn't build up

Disadvantages: not all that easy to find, boring bottle

I have to wash my hair every morning, if I wash my hair at night, it is greasy by the next day. Although my hair is very short, all this washing means I go through a lot of shampoo. Over the past few years, I have tried out quite a few different shampoos; all of the big names and even supermarket brands. Overall, I found that the big brand names had the best shampoo, but I also found that after a week or so the shampoos were leaving “build up” on my hair. So I adopted a policy of having more than one shampoo at a time and alternating between them to avoid build up; this does work to a certain degree, but then one day (not that long ago), I came across a different shampoo…

…it is called “Palmolive Naturals Shampoo” from Colgate Palmolive, and as the bottle claims, rather than drying out your hair, this shampoo leaves up to 20% more moisture in your hair. When I first saw this claim, I wasn’t particularly impressed, but after using the shampoo for a couple of days, it became apparent that the claims on the bottle were true, it really didn’t dry your hair out as much as other shampoos. This alternative approach is quite logical; rather than removing all of the natural oils from your hair, and then replacing them with artificial ones by using conditioner, this shampoo simply leaves some of these natural oils on your hair. This is a very effective approach, I have found that my hair does not go as “frizzy” as it used to with other shampoos, nor does the shampoo seem to leave build up on your hair; I have been using the shampoo for a least a couple of months and my hair is as soft and unfrizzy everyday now as it was when I first used the shampoo.

The shampoo comes in 400ml bottles, and in at least 3 different types (the only one I have used is the green one, I think the different kinds are for different hair types). As far as I know, there is not a conditioner to accompany this shampoo, but I ha
ve honestly found that you do not need one. My only criticisms of the product are that it is not all that widely available; I have been in several supermarkets that do not seem to stock it, and it's packaging is a bit unimaginative.

I really cannot express how pleased I am with this shampoo, I highly recommend it.
