*~*Introduction*~*
We go through a lot of shampoos and conditioners in our household, and whilst I do tend to buy more specialised ranges for my own hair as it's coloured, I also like to buy 'family friendly' products that we can all use as well. I came across the Palmolive Naturals shampoo in the 'Milk & Honey' fragrance early this year and was very impressed. It is only recently though that I have spotted my local Poundstretcher store selling both this and the matching conditioner for just £1 each, which up until recently I had yet to try the conditioner.
Having stocked up on a few bottles of each at that low price my review will now focus on the conditioner..
*~*Price, Packaging & Availability*~*
The conditioner comes housed in a plastic recyclable bottle which is in a bright honey colour and certainly stands out on the shelves amongst similar products. The bottle is a 'bullet' shape in appearance with a rounded top, and is upright standing with the base being the access to the contents and opens via a flip lid which is relatively to both open and close.
Apart from the logo in a white font and the odd smattering of colour the packaging is really quite minimalist but the bright honey colour certainly makes up for it's lack of decor.
Price wise I have seen this in other stores at around £2.99 for a 300 ml bottle but as mentioned I purchased this for just £1 for the same size so it's worth looking around if interested.
Availability wise this can be found in most large supermarkets, chemists and discount stores as Palmolive is quite a well known company so their products are commonly found all over.
*~*My experience of using the conditioner*~*
Having used this in conjunction with the matching shampoo as well as other shampoo brands I have nothing but praise for this product.
The conditioner oozes out of the bottle with ease and is of an average consistency which is similar really with the shampoo. As this is aimed at dry hair I was actually expecting something richer and thicker, but nevertheless the conditioner has a creamy velvet appearance so I had high hopes that it would please.
As this is milk & honey fragrance it emits a soft, but noticeable, sweet aroma of honey that smells delicious whilst the colour is an off white cream colour with a honey coloured hue.
After washing my hair with the matching shampoo I applied a reasonable sized amount to my hair finding a 10p coin size to suffice as my hair is just past shoulder length.
The conditioner smoothes the hair particles down once applied and I could feel it working almost instantly which was a reassuring feeling as my hair is coloured it can be dry at times so a good conditioner for me is essential.
Though it doesn't actually state how long to leave it on for, I opted for around 3/4 minutes to give it chance to work to it's optimum potential.
I found it to rinse out of my hair fairly quickly with relative ease and my hair felt super soft to the touch even when wet which was a good sign!
*~*Results*~*
On towel drying my hair I found my comb went through with no dragging or tangles and it felt thoroughly hydrated even whilst still damp. On drying my hair and styling in my usual manner I found my hair felt soft, was tangle free and fell into it's natural style without being *too* soft not to mention leaving it delicately scented, so all in all I was very pleased with this product.
I have used this both with the matching shampoo and also other brands of shampoo and have had the same results each time so for £1 it's a fantastic product.
My husband has commented on how nice it leaves his hair and when I have used it on my children's hair it has had a noticeable effect so is highly recommended.
The only negative I have to say unfortunately is it has a tendency to leak a little if the lid is not snap shut correctly and as it's opening is at the base this can be quite messy. Because it's not of a runny consistency it's not the loss of volume that is a problem, more the fact that the bottle and wherever it has been stored has to be wiped up if the lid is not closed correctly.
Apart from that one negative which regards the packaging, the actual product I have nothing but praise for this conditioner as it is affordable, and works on all hair types to leave hair silky soft and in fantastic condition. It lasts our family on average 2 weeks which of a family of four using it quite regularly (though I use different conditioners such as intensive ones at times) this is an economical purchase and very budget friendly.
Summary: An affordable family friendly conditioner
