I always seem to buy Pantene products as I have found them to work very well with my hair and they are often on offer in supermarkets which makes them very affordable. I have very thick hair and so need to use conditioners to be able to get a brush through it and to keep my hair in as good condition as possible. I usually use smooth and sleek from this brand but when I saw this Aqua Light range I couldn't resist trying it because my hair is so thick I need something to keep it as light as possible without making it look limp and lifeless.
This range from Pantene is supposed to make your hair feel as light as if you had just washed it with water and not applied any treatments to it. Quite often when you start using shampoos, conditioners and other products your hair can feel heavy as the product is left in your hair and weighs it down. This range claim that it leaves no residue behind which is why your hair will feel light.
Pantene bottles are all the same in terms of shape but they come in different colours depending upon their range so that they are easy to spot on the shelf amongst all of the others, The conditioner bottle sits on it's lid which makes it practical for getting the conditioner out. It is a tall, quite slim plastic bottle which is quite firm but still possible to squeeze it to help get the conditioner out. The colour for this range is a turquoise blue- the lid and a pattern on the label shows this colour. The actual bottle itself is a plain, opaque white so it isn't anything very special but it is perfectly fine in terms of how practical it is. I don't mind in this case that you can't see inside it as you can tell by it's weight and by how easy it is to squeeze out when you are beginning to get low.
Using the conditioner
The bottle opens easily as the lid is a flip one so it doesn't matter if you have wet and soapy hands when using it. The conditioner is quite thick although it would run out on it's own accord but I find that it does tend to need a bit of a squeeze to help it out especially once the bottle is less than half full. I use about a blob the size of a 50p as I have thick hair but I think if your hair is thinner you wouldn't need to use as much. I rub it into my hair gently starting from my roots and working it through to the tips. Sometimes if my hair is very tangled like if I've been by the sea I use a comb to help get it through my hair.
The smell of the conditioner is very much the same as other Pantene products which is ever so slightly floral but nothing too strong so that it just smells fresh and clean and anyone- male or female- can use it. It is quite hard to wash out of my hair. I find that conditioners do tend to stick to the hair so it's always difficult to wash it all out and I find this disappointing as this brand claims to not leave anything behind but it's hard to get out in the first place so it is hard to ensure that nothing is left behind! Once thoroughly rinsed out the conditioner should have taken effect.
My hair feels very nice and soft after using this. It's very soft to touch and has a lovely shine to it. It doesn't add any extra volume which is great and there is a lovely clean smell that lingers for a day afterwards. This all sounds very good but this is no different to how I find my hair after using Pantene conditioners from other ranges. I sadly do not notice anything different. My hair does not feel any lighter at all and it still has that slightly hard feeling in places if I haven't rinsed it thoroughly. This conditioner is supposed to make my hair feel so light I can swish it but sadly it just doesn't do that which is very disappointing as it would have been ideal.
What I like
It's reasonably priced
It makes my hair shine
It doesn't add volume
What I don't like
It doesn't do what it should
It's hard to rinse out.
Pantene makes decent products which work well but this conditioner doesn't live up to their usual quality. I was disappointed to find that my hair wasn't lighter at all even though it did look nice and shiny. I don't recommend this product but if you are interested in trying it for yourself it is available in supermarkets, pound shops and various other places. You can buy the shampoo in this range too.
I always use conditioner after shampooing my hair. I find that if I don't then my hair doesn't feel as nice and it's always faster to get tangled and difficult to brush. I usually buy Pantene products and this is one of the conditioners I use regularly.
It comes in a bottle which you stand on it's lid which makes it easier to get the conditioner out. The shampoo bottle which matches this one stands the other way round and is a slightly different shape. This makes it easy to tell the two apart especially when you are in the shower and may have water obscuring your vision.
The conditioner is really quite thick and white. It is easy to get out of the bottle as the bottle is easy to squeeze. I do not use much. I find if I use a lot then it is hard to rinse out and makes my hair become greasy very quickly. I use a small amount and apply it to my hair gently, I don't rub it in like I would shampoo but just put it near my roots then kind of pull it through the rest of my hair with my fingers.
After rinsing it out I dry my hair and find that after using this my hair has a nice shine and looks healthy. It does seem lighter after using this compared to other conditioners but it isn't anything that is especially noticeable really.
I like this because I think without it my hair is in poor condition so I will give it 5 stars even if it isn't anything outstanding.
As my hair is long and thick and constantly subjected to my hair dryer it can become somewhat prone to dry and split ends. I have used many different brands of hair products over the years and have drawn a shortlist of a few firm favourites where I will alternate with using them. A few months ago I applied online to receive a 75 ml bottle of both the shampoo and conditioner from a recently launched range from Pantene, namely Pro-V Aqua Light. I was thrilled to receive them a couple of weeks later and this review discusses my experience with using the conditioner.
~~ APPEARANCE OF THE PRODUCT ~~
As my 75 ml container is smaller than the normal size version, which contains 400 ml, it differs slightly in appearance, but similar to that of most conditioners, it sits on a flip top lid. We are informed that the product is lightweight and will nourish our hair.
~~ USING THE CONDITIONER ~~
I wash my hair on alternate days and it is necessary for me to condition after shampooing as otherwise my long hair becomes extremely knotted and is impossible to manage. I use a more intensive product on the weekends, but during the week I will use a regular conditioner specifically designed for my hair type. As there is no information on the packaging advising of the hair type this conditioner is best suited I was initially a little dubious as to whether it would be effective enough for my hair.
I dispensed a small amount of the fairly thick white coloured conditioner onto the palm of my hand and identical to that of the shampoo it gives the most stunning fragrance. I am normally able to describe an aroma without any difficulties, but I've struggled with this other than for the fact that it is wonderfully clean and fresh and suited for both sexes.
As directed, I applied the creamy conditioner to the ends of my hair and worked through towards my scalp and whilst there is no information to advise to wait for any length of time, I choose to leave it for a minute or so before rinsing. Pantene claim that the product will easily rinse away within seconds and I would wholeheartedly agree with this, as it took minimal effort to remove. I was not able to witness any sticky residue or build up in my hair, which was left feeling soft and silky smooth with no heaviness. I know when I have used an effective product as my hair is much easier to manage and offers a healthy shine.
My only complaint would be that the gorgeous aroma is very faint and I would have preferred it to have been more evident. However, I do not feel that this small grumble justifies me removing a star. This is a high quality product and certainly lives up to its' claims and for that reason it receives five stars from me together with my full recommendation. As soon as I have used my current supplies of other branded conditioners I will be purchasing a full sized bottle of Pantene Pro-V Aqua Light.
~~ INGREDIENTS AND OTHER INFORMATION ~~
There is an extremely lengthy list of ingredients contained on the reverse of the bottle; one of which is alcohol. However, I do not intend copying them into this review. The conditioner should be used within 12 months of opening and the bottle can be recycled once empty.
~~ PRICE AND AVAILABILITY ~~
Pantene Pro-V Aqua Light Conditioner is widely available and at the time of writing you can purchase the 400 ml bottle in Boots for £4.69 or £5 for two on selected Pantene products.
I hope you found my review useful and would thank you for reading.
I was recommended this new pantene range by someone who writes a beauty blog which I regularly read. (I have also reviewed the shampoo if you want to check it out). I was more dubious about using the conditioner in this range than the shampoo, as I found it hard to believe that a conditioner could give such a light effect on the hair whilst nourishing it. Nevertheless I gave it a try.
Firstly the product is so cheap and can basically be bought anywhere (supermarkets, pharmacies) BONUS! I managed to get it using my boots points (yay), but it costs about £2.50 for the smaller size product which is what I got. The packaging is also quite nice and would look nice in the bathroom along with the shampoo.
After using the conditioner my hair not only felt light but also nourished and smooth. This kind of conditioner probably works best if you have greasy hair, if your looking for a product which wont weigh your hair down. I currently have dry hair (after dying it way too much), and although it worked well as a daily conditioner I feel the additional need to using an intensive conditioner once a week.
I can hardly fault this product as it does exactly as it says on the packaging, it leaves hair feeling very light but also healthy and shiny when used frequently. My hair smells so clean and fresh after use. I would recommend and would definitely repurchase.
I wrote a review quite a while ago on Pantene aqua light shampoo after receiving a sample bottle in the post. At the time I also received a Pantene aqau light conditioner sample bottle, which I put into our bathroom cupboard, since I don't tend to be a big user of conditioner. However, a week or so ago, I came across this bottle and thought I had better give it a go.
A 400ml bottle of this Pantene Prov V Aqua Light Conditioner usually retails anywhere between £2 and £4. This Pantene Aqua range follows the slogan 'virtually no weight'. It states on my bottle that it is a 'lightweight nourishing conditioner'. It is also supposed to have a 'clean rinse' element to it, allowing you to apply and then rinse it successfully out of your hair easily and quickly since it is 'highly water soluble' There is said to be no residue nor weight with this conditioner, nor indeed any product from this Pantene range.
I have previously said that I am not a huge fan of Pantene products, although I didn't find their shampoo in this range to be too bad, however having been using this conditioner every day for the past week (it is a good size sample!) I have to say that I have been more impressed with this conditioner than even the shampoo. I did feel that the product was very easy to apply to my hair after shampooing and easier than some to rinse out. Sometimes when rinsing out conditioner, it can be difficult to ensure that it is all rinsed away, but I don't seem to have this problem with this particular product, and it does so very quickly.
In regards to the lightweight formula, well I certainly don't feel any heaviness to my hair, but the main thing I do notice is the condition that it leaves my hair. After drying, my hair for the rest of the day looks in great condition and feels soft and smooth to touch, feeling nourished as it claims to do.
All in all, I don't tend to buy conditioners, however, if I were to start, or happen to see this product on offer in the supermarkets, it would certainly be a conditioner that I would select to purchase, as I do think it leaves my hair looking and feeling great, and really, what more do you want with a conditioner!
I'm a bit of a stickler for any hair product that claims to eliminate greasiness, so I was looking forward to using this conditioner, despite not being a huge fan of Pantene's products. According to Pantene's website the conditioner 'nourishes your hair in a light way without weighing it down. Its innovative Clean Rinse formula is highly water-soluble and rinses off in seconds. Nourishment with zero residue and zero weight, you will see the difference from your first wash.'
However, my experience with this conditioner failed to live up to the expectations given by the above statement. I used it in conjunction with the Pantene Aqua Light Shampoo, and bought them on a 'buy one free offer' in Tescos. Although I chose to buy the larger size of bottle of this conditioner, sadly I only used it three times before reverting back to my trusty collection of Herbal Essences, Tigi, L'Oreal Elvive, Tresseme and Alberto Balsam shampoos.
When I used this conditioner, I expected it to give me soft, manageable hair that didn't feel at all greasy or weighed down. However, in reality it gave me lank locks that looked in major need of a wash. I used it on three consecutive days and it never made my hair feel truly clean; on the third day I actually had to re-wash and condition my hair just a few hours after using the two products as I couldn't face going out with my hair in the greasy state that the shampoo and conditioner had left it in.
Although I can see from other reviews that other people have used this shampoo to great effect, it is definitely not something that I will ever buy again.
Continuing on from my review on the Aqua Shampoo in this collection I also bought this conditioner. I can't by a different shampoo to conditioner!!
My usual Pantene Smooth and sleek was not available and this was on offer so I gave it a go. It claims to be really lightweight and easy to wash out leaving no residue. I find this with all Pantene products and did not find this any more ligher than the other really. For this reason the higher price it has is not really worth it and you may as well buy the normal Pantene products I feel.
However this product in isloation is very good and made my hair soft, light and managable. Generally my hair is straight but can get frizzy and wavey with the wrong shampoo and conditioner. I was not dissapointed by this one and it did what it stated on the tin really.
It applied well and was nice to rinse out, I wash my hair every day but if I missed a day this conditioner kept my hair feeling fresh and clean for the mean time.
I could not find this in a 2in1, just the shampoo and cinditioner separately which is dissapointing as I tend to use the 2in1 products from pantene more then the two separate ones. This is purely for time really not for any other reasons.
You can expect to pay about £3.50 for a 250ml bottle of this but it is generally on ofer in different supermarkets or drugstores so shop around.
I would not necessarily go out of my way to buy this product again purely because I feel it does the same as the Smooth and Sleek version and this is cheaper. There does not seem to be anything it does to warrant paying more for.
I have used Pantene conditioner for a while now and haven't found anything which is as good, for a remotely reasonable price. I have tried a wide variety of other conditioners, especially ones which have been on special offer in Tesco and Boots, but I always seem to come back to the same one. Although I found the 'standard' version of Pantene good, I knew there could be something better out there as it wasn't perfect, but I just couldn't find it. Well now I have!
When I saw Pantene had bought out a new range I didn't think it would be any better, if anything worse, but it was on special offer at the end of an ailse in Tesco and I ended up getting two large bottles for just under £3.
The conditioner stands on its head, which is flat and helps with using every last bit as it ensures the conditioner falls to the bottom and is easy to squeeze out and you get good value for money without wasting any. The lid is a flip on and off with a small hole in which you can easily control squeezing the product out without squeezing too much and wasting it all (how frustrating is that when you do it!)
The conditioner is white and creamy in texture and doesn't have a strong scent, it certainly doesn't smell floral or fragranced just soft and subtle whilst being fresh.
Normally with pantene I apply the conditioner to the ends of my hair and avoid the roots, so that I don't make them greasy, but I soon learnt with this conditioner that I could apply a tiny bit to the roots without ruining my hair, as it is much lighter (as the name suggests) that any other pantene conditioner. I have tried other light conditioners, but they haven't made my hair soft and silky, as they are too light, but somehow Aqua light seems to maintain the balance and be perfectly in the middle.
In summary, Pantene Aqua light is affordable, easy and pleasant to use, gives me soft hair, in good condition, without making it too heavy and greasy.
This is a well deserved five stars and a product I will continue to buy and recommend.
I am currently part of a project on Savvy Circle and I applied to have the new Pantene Pro V Aqua Light range sent out to me to use. My hair is thin, lacks volume, and needs washing everyday because of how oily it is. Due to this I have to be careful with how much conditioner I do use, using a heavy conditioner will make my thin hair rather limp, and it doesn't help with the greasy roots problem. I do need to use a conditioner, because I suffer from that horrible problem of greasy roots but dry ends, and combined with the fact I regularly straighten my hair, finding a good conditioner for my hair can be a problem
When the Aqua Light shampoo and conditioner was launched by Pantene Pro V, I must admit I didn't give it too much attention despite having used Pantene in the past. It wasn't until I ended up with this project that I actually wondered if the 'light' claims were actually true. I have used the Pantene a lot in the past, I do think the shampoo and conditioner's they produce are brilliant, which is why I had high expectations of this new range.
Aqua Light conditioner claims to leave behind no residue, leaving hair feeling very lightweight. My hair is thin, light and fly-away anyway but I love the idea of a conditioner which won't make my fine hair limp or suffer from product build up.
The conditioner comes packaged in the usual Pantene style bottle, the theme colour is a light aqua blue, obviously to match the 'Aqua Light' name. I was surprised when I first used this conditioner because it smells great. It has a hint of the typical Pantene smell which I associate with their other products, but it also has it almost fruity touch to it which is really pleasant, not over-powering, and makes a nice change from the scent of their other products.
The conditioner is quite thick, but I find a small amount does go far. It instantly smoothens out the ends of my hair, and I can instantly feel the difference, my hair feeling much more nourished and healthy. It's easy to wash out too, and I never leave conditioners in my hair for long, usually washing it out instantly, as with my hair type I can't really leave it to sink in too much or it becomes limp and heavy.
When my hair is dry I can really tell the difference. My hair is softer, smoother and thankfully, not at all limp but feathery light. It also helps with any split ends I have, and despite using hair straightens it doesn't dry out but stays looking shiny and healthy. I've gone through both bottles now and I will now go onto purchase more because I do love the results that come from using this conditioner. Pantene is stocked in most supermarkets and Boots.
This conditioner is worth every penny! It smells great, leaves your hair soft and leaves no build up. I was worried because it was light it wouldnt work as well as a normal conditioner but its even better. I use it every day and my hair has never been in better condition. I use it with the light shampoo.
According to the Pantene website: "The new Aqua Light conditioner nourishes your hair in a light way without weighing it down. Its innovative Clean Rinse formula is highly water-soluble and rinses off in seconds. Nourishment with zero residue and zero weight, you will see the difference from your first wash".
The product can be found in most supermarkets, and costs approximately £2.50 for a regular size bottle. This costing is average, the same for most conditioners on the market. The bottle is white, and stands up for ease of use in showers etc., with an easy to open lid and a nice shape so it is easy to grip.
The conditioner looks as most conditioners do, it is white with a sheen to it. It smells lovely, not too overpowering but with a hint of a smell of possibly some sort of fruit. The amount needed is no more than a usual conditioner, but I tend to focus more on the ends of my hair and use a fair amount (my hair is quite dry at the ends).
** My Opinion **
As with most adverts I was skeptical that a shampoo could not only nourish hair, but also leave it light feeling. My hair is generally quite dry, this is my own fault due to the amount of hair dye and straightening I put it through. It also tends to go quite greasy after 2 days and this, again, is from the products I subject it to in order for it to look "healthy and nourished". I actually got a free sample of the conditioner in a magazine, and thought it would be a good idea to try it, before purchasing a big bottle only to discover I had been duped (not for the first time!).
I used the conditioner after the shampoo, as directed. I did put a bit more than I normally would on the ends of my hair, but that is because my hair is quite dry and this is what I normally do with conditioners, as I generally find they are not effective enough. However, this product definitely is. The next time I used it I used a smaller amount and the result was just the same, my hair was a lot more nourished, it felt cleaner and softer but it didnt feel heavy, and best of all it didnt go greasy after 1 day, as with most highly nourishing conditioners that I have used in the past.
I would highly recommend this conditioner, it does exactly what it says, and it is super lightweight and doesn't make my hair feel greasy or dry, and at £2.50 a go, it is well worth it.
I recently reviewed the new Pantene Pro - V shampoo in the Aqua Light range and was very impressed. As I bought the conditioner at the same time to use in conjunction with the shampoo, here is my thoughts on how the product fared..
This is part of the Pantene range of products so for availability it can be found in most places that stock hair products. I happened to buy this from Superdrug due to the locality of the store to my home, where for a 400ml bottle it costs £3.95.
There is also a smaller sized 200ml bottle available to buy at around the £2 mark.
The packaging differs to the design of the shampoo in the fact that though this is upright standing, the flip open lid is on the underneath and acts as the base. The colouring of the bottle is an opaque white as opposed to the clarity of the shampoo which the plastic is transparent. The only link between the two is the aqua blue colouring of the lids.
So even though the appearance is nothing exciting, it looks acceptable placed on the edge of the bath/shower.
The actual conditioner is similar to other Pantene conditioners in the looks department. It is quite thick in consistency and has a creaminess to it, whilst the colour is a very bright, snowy white.
The scent, just like the shampoo, has the trademark 'pantene' aroma with a slight peachy edge to it.
I applied this directly after rinsing my hair clean of the shampoo before applying a small 10p size blob. I rub over my hair covering as much as possible before combing through for even coverage to make sure all of my hair benefits.
I found the amount I used the first time seemed to be sufficient for my hair length (well past my shoulders), so this acted as a marker for every time I used this.
The conditioner felt lovely and soft on my hair, even on the first application I could really tell it was moisturising each and every hair.
I left this on for a few minutes before rinsing in the shower, which the conditioner disappeared effortlessly under the water.
I was a bit wary of this as previous experiences in the past with Pantene products have left me with soft but totally unmanageable hair.
I like pantene but have often found the products to be fantastic at leaving my somewhat dry (and coloured) hair hydrated, but unfortunately have indeed had that 'heavy' feeling, leaving my hair flat.
Once I dried my hair I could instantly tell a difference. I have choppy layers cut into my current hairstyle which up until recently didn't seem to make much difference. When I started using this the layers seemed more defined and my hair no longer had that heavy feeling, making styling a pleasure.
I have been using this since I bought the shampoo (for several weeks) and have been thoroughly impressed with the results of both products. I haven't used either singularly so cannot comment on the effectiveness of how they would work just on their own. What I do know is how great my hair looks and feels (and smells!) after using these products combined.
I just want to also mention that even though this stands on it's lid it doesn't drip when you have used any.
I'm only halfway through the bottle after using several times a week so for the money it's a very economical purchase and I will be buying again when I run out.
Following on from the recent Shampoo review of Pantene Aqua Shampoo Here is the Conditioner review. I don't use Conditioner that often. Unlike the wife who uses it every Wash. Although I can admit that i'm sure Conditioner works, since I have short Hair and being a bloke I just don't see the need in it. Don't tell the wife that I said this, but I like how soft my Hair feels after using a Conditioner, but still it is a bit of a hassle to be using this as it probably doubles my time in the Shower.
This is on offer at the moment in most shops due to it being new in the Pantene range. This comes in a 200ml bottle and 400ml bottle. I think normally the 200ml costs around £2.00-£2.50, and the 400ml costs around £3.80, but the wife got the Shampoo and Conditioner for £2.50 for both of these as part of an offer.
The bottle is alright. Doesn't stand out against the other Pantene range as this is just a thick white plastic bottle with the Pantene writing on the front.
This is a thick Cream and a little goes a long way. I just used a little bit of this, which is all I need for my short Hair anyway. It washed out easy enough, and yes my Hair felt nice and Soft afterwards, and it smelt nice enough too. A fresh clean smell.
Does what it's meant to do, and made my Hair ok.
I recieved this prodiuct as a free sample from one of the freebie websites. I have to say that overall I was impressed with this product. It was a light consistency and was easily applied to the scalp. I applied it as directed from the roots to the tips and I found that it lathered well, but not too much. It rinsed easily out of my hair; this prodict also smells lovely. When I blow dried my hair, it left my hair frizz free; feeling light and airy and my hair wasn't left feeling heavy or as if it had a residue left on it. Using this prouduct left my hair feeling nourished and moisturised; It left my hair very clean;yet it did not strip the oil out of my hair or mess with the moisture balance of my hair. This product is available from all good beauty retailers and supermarkets and is available in different sizes:200ml and 400ml. They are priced between:£2.55 and £3.99. Overall this product was a joy to use. Yet another trusted product brought to the consumer by Pantene. I found this too be a high quality product that is great value for money. I have recently gone out and bought a full size version of this product.
After my previous review on the Aqua Light shampoo I have decided to also write one on the conditioner. They are part of Pantenes new range, which are the 'ice shine' products, also the 'aqua light' products.
The packaging for these, I find are very attractive, either a clear or white main body with an ice blue lid, gives them a very cool, icy effect!
I bought them in Tescos when they were half price and I think the conditioner cost £1.76, though I think they have a newer current offer in Tesco where these products are buy one get one free, so the price works out near enough the same.
(The price of my conditioner was based on the 500ml bottle.)
The conditioner itself has a very similar smell to that of the shampoo, a light fresh smell, that is also quite fruity, but again is not a sweet fruit, but a cleaner, fresher fruit smell.
The conditioner is a white colour, which is almost metallic, it also feels nourishing and soft to the touch.
To use the conditioner is very smooth and runs through the hair very easily, when doing so it gives out a lovely scent. It feels very nourishing in your hair, also moisturising. It also feels a very clean conditioner, unlike the slightly more sticky, greasier ones.
After use, it again washes out very quickly and easily, literally in seconds and there is no need to worry about any extra bubbles being let in your hair. It is a very light conditioner, that isn't thick which I think is what makes it easy to wash clean out.
After using this, as I said in my review before I did not find the shampoo very moisturising so I was pleasantly surprised to find that this moisturised my hair beautifully. It felt lovely, soft and silky to the touch!
Once my hair was dry it looked and smelled great, it did look weightless and swished almost as good as it is on the advert!
