As I enjoy trying and testing out new products, particularly toiletries and make-up, I was delighted when a few months ago I receive two 75 ml travel sized bottles of Pantene's Pro-V Aqua Light Shampoo and Conditioner, which are manufactured by Proctor and Gamble. I have had considerable experience with using both products with this review discussing the lightweight moisturising shampoo.

~~ APPEARANCE OF THE PRODUCT ~~

As this is a travel sized bottle as opposed to the full sized containing 400 ml I do not intend discussing the packaging other than the fact that it has an identical lid, which is easily opened and closed.

~~ USING THE SHAMPOO ~~

I would point out there that my hair is long and considerably thick and as a result, it is essential that I use high quality shampoos and conditioners as otherwise I am left with a tangled mess, which is impossible to manage. I was surprised when I dispensed a small amount of the good consistency product (around the size of a 10p piece) into my palm as I had expected it to be of a white appearance as opposed to a clear fairly thick gel. However, as I have since spotted the full sized version in the shops I am aware that it is contained within a transparent bottle, so the colour of the product is clearly visible.

I applied the gel shampoo to my dampened hair and was quite amazed at what little effort was needed in order to create a good lather. I have tried dozens upon dozens of different brands of shampoos over the years and this by far, provided the best lather. The aroma of the shampoo is simply stunning although I am struggling to detect a specific fragrance. The only words I can use are clean, fresh and suitable for both men and women.

It is very rare that I use a second application of shampoo, particularly as I wash my hair every other day, so a single shampoo is sufficient. I am able to massage the product into my entire head of hair from root to tip and it easily rinses away without leaving any heaviness or sticky residue. Pantene claim the shampoo is "virtually no weight" and I have to agree with this statement although many of my shampoos could be described in the identical manner.

I feel that the product is extremely effective at removing any grease or grime and is tough enough with tackling my hair spray and mousse. It is impossible for me to solely use shampoo, particularly as my hair is so long, but for the purpose of thoroughly reviewing the product I omitted conditioner during my initial use of the shampoo. Unfortunately, just as I suspected, my hair was extremely difficult to brush without pulling it out at the roots, so it was necessary to apply the matching conditioner with its' identical fragrance. However, the only disappointment for me is that the gorgeous aroma did not linger for very long, but I was pleased with the silky soft feeling it gave to my hair.

I was really pleased with the high quality results delivered by this shampoo and when I finish using my current supply belonging to various other brands I will be purchasing the full sized version. Consequently, Pantene Pro-V Aqua Light shampoo receives 5 stars from me together with my full recommendation. I did not feel it appropriate to remove a star due to the aroma not lingering on my hair, as the superb benefits far outweigh this one grumble of mine.

There is a lengthy list of ingredients contained on the reverse of the bottle, which for obvious reasons I do not intend copying into my review. The shampoo should be used within 12 months of opening and the bottle can be recycled once empty.

Pantene Pro-V Aqua Light Shampoo is widely available and at the time of writing you can purchase a 250 ml bottle from Tesco for £2.
