Firstly I am writing as a hairdresser, about the new range as of March 2001.
As some people have said, Pantene has a really bad reputation amongst hairdressers. This was mainly the old range and possibly now the rest of the range other than this one.
Pantene and all shampoos (especcially ones to add body) coat the hair to some extent which is why you need to change shampoos a lot and use a claryifying shampoo every 2 weeks or so.
This shampoo is clear, lathers and rinses well and doesn't leave the hair feeling stripped and dry unlike some others.
Pantenes new range seem much improved, although I do have a very allergic scalp and this did set it off at first, but is fine after a few weeks.
The smell has also got better along with the stylish packaging.
I have tried a lot of expensive shampoos and have found that they are all pretty much the same (chemically too!) but this does seem to stop my hair being like an oil slick quite so soon!
Beware of using normal Pantene products before having any Salon services such as perms as they used to make a nightmare barrier on the hair if used for a long time.
