I have a giant can of Pantene hair spray in the bathroom that I have been using for ages. I should really just throw it away even though it still has more than half left in it as it just seems to spit out the product unevenly and for example this morning I styled my hair perfectly and thought I'd just add a bit of spray to hold the style and it completely missed my hair and spat a load of hair spray all over my forehead!
By now you might tell I am not a big fan of this particular hair spray! I also detest the smell of it which is really strong and unpleasant.
It holds hair in place OK if you can get the nozzle to work but it just doesn't do a fine mist for my liking.
Hairspray is not a very exciting thing to buy and I am not particularly loyal to one brand or type, I just tend to buy whatever is on offer at the time. I don't use a lot either so I tend to buy the smaller cans as they take up less room and I think the large can of Pantene is also annoying me due to its size!
The only thing this does have going for it is the price. I paid around two pounds for my bottle and it is a huge thing too.
In conclusion, I don't think I will buy this again in the future. It's not for me and I don't really like the smell of it.
I have to use hairspray of some description other wise my hair would just look a terrible mess. I really need it to hold my style in place and also to tame it as it tends to fly away. I like to use a firm hold Hairspray and I bought a Pantene Firm HOld spray from Boots the other month for two pounds and ninety nine pence. I have used a lot of hair care products in the Pantene range previously and most of them have been pretty good so I really had no qualms about trying one of the hairsprays. I did think it was quite expensive at the time I bought this but then I had some Advantage points to use so i basically go it for "free". The first thing I noticed abut this hairspray is the fragrance. It was light and fresh and it came out of the bottle in a nice fine mist and not a sudden gush. It dried quite quickly and my hair still felt natural enough to be able to have movement and not look as though it was stuck to my head. I didn''t however, find that this hairspray is quite difficult to brush or comb out afterwards and it left a kind of tacky film on my hair which I could detect in the shower when I went to wash my hair the same day after using this. I have used up almost the whole bottle of this particular can now and though I can vouch for the fact that it holds my style in place well, I am less inclined to recommend it due to the sticky film it leaves behind and the fact that it''s quite hard to brush out.
Perfect curls Bouncy Hold Hairspray
I am not really a big hairspray user nowadays. Back in the 80's I probably used a whole can a week for that "perfect high ponytail look" and "perm" look that were the norm back then but these days I like my hair to look natural and perfectly formed and like I "just stepped out of a salon".
So, saying that, I find it quite hard to find a hairspray that holds well but does not end up making my hair look stiff or sticky.
A few months ago now I was browsing the isles of Boots when I came across the Pantene range. I have used their shampoo in the past and know that their tv adverts that they are quite well respected in the haircare world so I though I would give one of their hairsprays a try. Now, I generally only use hairspray once I have curled my hair as the curls don't stay in well on their own so I decided to go for the Perfect curls, bouncy hold hairspray. For a 300ml can in Boots it was approximately £2.99 so a little bit more expensive than some cheap brands but hopefully worth it for a better hairspray, I was soon to find out.
Pantene is owned by Procter and Gamble and if you are interested in finding out more about their products their official website can be found at www.pantene.co.uk.
The directions for use are much the same as any other hairspray can, hold about 25-30 cms away from your hair and spray. Now I like to spray over the top of my head and then just let it fall down over my head so I get an even, natural look. The thing I liked about this hairspray bottle was that the nozzle was small and quite easy to spray from unlike some cans. It also has stayed quite clean and has not blocked up at all in the last couple of months that I have been using it so that is good.
According to the can, this is what the hairspray is meant to do: "Your curls are looking great! Now keep them that way. This flexible hold spray leaves your curls soft with all day shine and elasticity - just the way you want them all day long. Brushes out easily"
I definitely agree that it brushes out easily. In fact what I like about this hairspray is that you can hardly feel that you have spray in your hair at all. I use quite a bit but it does not make my hair go hard or sticky at all. My curls now tend to stay in all day but they still move and look natural which was the look I was going for. Also the next day if I do not want to wash my hair but want to brush it I have found that the hair spray really does brush out and does not leave my hair looking lank or greasy.
I haven't really found that it gives my hair a shiny look but then it is not in that good a condition so it's never going to shine regardless of what hairspray I use.
Pantene recommend that you use this spray in conjunction with their Perfect Curls shampoo and conditioner and then the Perfect Curls Curl creating Gel spray but of course they would say that as it helps them to achieve more revenue. I use it with another shampoo and it seems to do just as well so you do not have to follow everything it says on the can! Like I said, I have had the can for a couple of moths now, granted I do not use it every day or in vast quantities but it has lasted quite a long time and in my opinion I have definitely got good value for money and it's definitely a product I would recommend and will continue to use.
This hair spray from pantene is probably the strongest hair spray i have found yet and i like mine strong.
I tend to have my hair streight in the winter when i dont want to be having to wash it every morning and leave the house with wet hair but have it permed every summer.
With my hair being so long if i dont use a spray with a strong hold the curls have droped to just frizzy waves by the end of the day and after trying a lot of cheaper brands i tried this one and at £2.99 a bottle i dont think it is too badly priced.
You only need a little bit of it as it sets your hair rock hard but it does hold your hair where ever you set it all day which is what i want from a hair spray.
This hair spray is no good if you want to be able to use it one day and brush it out without washing your hair as it leaves a film on your hair which after brushing the hairspay out looks like you have terible dandruf but it is great for someone like me who washes there hair before styling it every day.
Since i have often used pantene pro-v shampoo and conditioner and been completely satisfied, i thought i would try the sheer volume hair spray. At £3.29 for 250mls, this hairspray was more expensive than i would usually pay, but i thought i would give it a try.
After using it, my hair felt slightly stiff, but i didn't think too much about this. I went out, and my hair stayed in place, but it still felt hard, so once i got home i went to brush my hair. this was quite hard as my hair was all stuck together, and then i noticed that it was leaving white flakes in my hair. i had only used a tiny amount of the spray so was quite surprised to see this.
A few days later i re-tried the hairspray, but found the same stiff hair and white flakes, so have not used it since. As my hair is dark, the flakes really showed up, which is what really put me off the hairspray. it definitely holds your hair in place, but there are more disadvantages than advantages, so i wouldn't recommend this product, even though the other pantene products i have used have always been really good.
When im out and I know im going to need a quick "hair fix", a always pack my handbag with my little bottle of magic. There is nothing worse that having a "frizzy moment" as you will probably know if you are reading this. At the same time, I want a level of control that is not going to cause me to suffer from a rock hard headpiece that so many cheaper brands turn my hair into. (finger wagging in the direction of Boots!) I want a bouncy look to give my hair a lift but still look and feel natural. Listen to me, I sound like one of those very annoying adverts. The entire Pro V range is excellent. Their other hairspray range give you the desired hold for the occasion. Even my husband has been known to borrow some if his gel runs out. Some hairsprays leave you choking on the fumes that eminate from the car but I never seem to have that problem. It feels wonderful on my hair. No heavy or weighed down like some products. One problem that it does not suffer from is longevity. As it is a gentle hold, it tends to wear off quite quickly. Its always worthwile having your handy sized can at the ready for a "top up". Similarly, its lack of staying power means its easy to wash out. It is quite sweet smelling to and lacks that toxic aroma that fills the bedroom withthe cheaper brands (Boots and Co-op being the biggest culprits) Price is just under £2 a bottle at £1.90 from Superdrug. I tend to buy all of these type of products from there due to it being quite cheap. One warning it its likeness to small deodorants. My gold impulse bottle looks exactly the same as me Pantene. You dont want to look silly in a club by spraying anti perspirant on your head do you? Similarly, you dont want sticky armpits either not that there is hair ther to get in the way!
Since my hair is now so short it's rare that I use hair spray, but when I do, it's Pantene Pro V that I use. I have never liked using hairspray ever since I used to go and have my hair done at the hairdressers many moons ago and they would insist on dousing me with what seemed like gallons of a sticky mixture which didn't only hold my style in place it set it rock solid (or so it seemed!) Hurricanes wouldn?t have moved my hair! I'm happy to say that hairsprays have moved on somewhat since those days! Who remembers the adverts on TV for Harmony Hair Spray? You know the ones where people would be looking at the girl wearing the Harmony walking through the park and asking one another, 'Is she or isn?t she?' because her hair looked so natural. Well this is the way that hairsprays have moved in the years since I used to go to the hairdressers. Now the spray tends to be much finer and a lot less sticky so it holds the hair in place without setting it in stone! Now, when that special someone runs his hands through your hair, he won't risk breaking his fingers! Dream on girls! Anyway - why Pantene Pro V? There's an easy answer to that - my mom bought it for me as part of a Christmas present! That said I am very impressed with this product. The one that I have is the Pantene Pro V Flexible Hairspray, Maximum Hold, with Elastesse - whatever that is! I'm sure you all know how to use hair spray but just in case you don't I'll tell you. You just style your hair as you want it and then hold the can about 25 to 30 cm away from your head and spray a fine mist onto your hair. This will hold the style in place but will look and feel quite natural. The smell of this product isn't anything special, in fact I would describe it as a typical hairdresser hairspray smell if you know what I mean! The good thing is that the smell soon disperses and doesn't interfere with any perf
ume that you may be wearing. The one thing that you have to be REALLY careful about is the fact that hairspray is extremely flammable so don't spray it near to any lighted candles or you could go out in a blaze of glory! The can of Pantene that I have is the 75ml size and is about the same size as a spray of Impulse perfume, so it will fit easily into a decent sized handbag. As I am one of these people who carries a large bag a full of all sorts of things this is no problem for me! Since it was a gift I can't accurately say how much it cost but I would guess at about £1.75 or thereabouts. Pantene is made by Kingsley Paige plc, Peterborough. PE2 7BZ So now you can hold your style and have people wondering 'Is she or isn?t she?' if they?ve got nothing better to do with their time that is!
When I go shopping for hairspray, I don't pay no attention at what the cost of the hairspray is.I look at the ingredients and what all it can do for your hair. Now, I'm probobly like a lot of other people, I don't like my hair feeling sticky.I like something that will hold all day without having to re-spray it a dozen times. It's almost like wearing a hair net, but it's invisible. I use Ultra Firm Pantene right before I go to work or go out.It stays in place all day.My hair looks natural and shiny. To me, this is the finest hairspray on the market. It also doesn't have a bad smell either. My little girl is nine and she won't use any other hairspray than Pantene, because she doesn't like her hair feeling sticky. She thinks she's got to fix her hair before we go anywhere.( I guess it's a girl thing, wouldn't you say?)
This hairspray makes a great change from the normal sticky ones you can buy, I have my hair tied back and find this holds it in place all day. But the best thing about this hairspray is the way I can just brush it out so easily each night without getting the brush stuck in all the stickiness. My hair also feels so soft after using this and not like it has been held back all day. The whole range of Pantene products I find are great for your hair and I wouldn't change to any others. My hair has never been in better shape then when I started using Pantene.
I have been lucky enough to have received two coupons through post for a free small bottle of this hairspray. So being free why not, dont get much for free these days. The bottles are small enough to fit in handbag, so convenient to take out if you may need some later in day and your out, It is nice to use doesnt smell bad so doesnt leave lingering hairspray smells in the bathroom, so no complaints there from others using bathroom after me. it keeps your hair as you have styled it too even through a good night out at disco dancing. I used to buy a different product much larger bottle unable to fit in bag, smelt but cheap in price for amount you get,but I have changed to pantenne now smaller bottle doesnt last as long but worth buying.
I received a voucher from Pantene for a handbag sized hairspray of my choice from the Pro-V range. At the time I had longer hair so I went for the Flexible - Extra Hold. First of all, it is a good hairspray in that, when I sprayed it on my hair it went on evenly and I did not end up trying to cough my way through a room of mist as I have done with others in the past. It left my hair feeling nice and not at all sticky. As for the extra hold, well, that is debatable. I felt that it was not as good as some others that I have tried, though in fairness, it was quite good.
The whole family use this hairspray and I think it's really good. I keep the small size handy in my handbag when going out. It doesn't smell too bad and works really well. It doesn't leave my hair sticky or knotted at the end of the day either. The large size tin lasts for absolutely ages - and that's with everyone pinching a spray here and there!! I'd recommend it for people with long or short hair. It works equally well on either.
I rarely use hairspray but when i do it is the Pantene Firm hold that i use. It comes in a a large size or a handbag size which is the one I use, and it seems to last for ages. As hairsprays go this one actually smells quite nice, sort of flowery but the most important thing is that it dosn't leave your hair feeling sticky, or even looking like it has hairspray in it. I would recommend this, especially the small size one which is useful to carry around.
