Advantages: Cleans hair of dirt and grease
Disadvantages: Doesnt make it anymore shiny.. but it never said it would
As I think I mentioned before I wash my hair everyday, otherwise it just gets greasy and just feels disgusting on my head. I dont use the same shampoos every day but I have a rotation of about 4-5 shampoos and I find I get better results (ie less greasy hair) by alturnating them.
Pantene Iceshine has had many adverts on tv that ive seen, one with the young actress anna something, erm.. she was in brookside. Anyway her saying that all she needed to look good was shiny hair and so just used iceshine products. Cant say I believed that and am sure she went through about 4 hours of hair and makeup before the advert.
Still I like to try new shampoos and the prospect of a bit of shine to my hair is appealing.
The bottle is clear plastic with a blackflip top lid on the top, on the front it states that this shampoo will give brilliant shine to dull tired hair. Actually if im honest I believe that true shiny hair comes from the food you eat and amount of water you drink, but still it cant hurt to try!
The shampoo is clear and quite a thick consistancy. I use it after I wet my hair either in the sink or in the shower. My hair is quite long (down to small of my back) so I use a larger amount than more people. It makes A LOT of lather! I always think more lather equals better cleansing but i doubt this is really the case. To be honest it is hard to describe the smell, its kind of alcoholy and chemical based, not too unpleasant though.
The lather rinsed out very easily and my hair felt clean and soft the next day. As I wash my hair everyday i cannot comment on how long it would have felt this way but it is fine for everyday use.
As for the shine, well honestly my hair doesnt seem any shinier than usual. It normally shines a little bit but I didnt see a vast improvement at all. Still for removing the grease from my hair it did a good job and I would buy it again for this purpose but not to make it shine.
Now that ive had a look at the back of the bottle I can see pantene have laid out three steps to shiny hair and they state that the shampoo "removes dirt and residue that can reduce shine". So no mention of making it shinier. So it seems it does the job that it states it does.
It also states that the conditioner and serum you can get from the same range smooths the surface of the hair to reflect the light and boosts shine.
I dont usually use conditioner and I dont have this one so I cannot comment on this. So just to reiterate now ive realised this point, the shampoo isnt meant to make your hair more shiny, it just removed dirt and grease. And it is excellent at doing so.
The 400ml bottle is around 2.99 and it is now on offer at morrisons at 1.39. (So is the conditioner if you want to get that too).
Summary: Good shampoo for daily use
