Combining shampoo and conditioner is better to take away on holiday or travel with as I find I don't have as much time to use each individually, this can save time and money.
The PANTENE range is a good range that I've heard good things from my family and friends from and obviously noticeable through their ad campaigns, so my expectations of them were a little higher than I should have put them.
There are six varieties in the PANTENE range with different aims for the hair. This is the original or classic version in their range.
I found this very good in cleansing the scalp. removing product build-up and left such a lovely shine when dried.
This didn't smell as nice as other leading brands, but it certainly wasn't something that you couldn't wear and smell on your hair.
The downside in nt being able to use this regualrly, only as a last resort.
This sadly is because I have thick hair and this product tends to make my hair fuller and a bit more unmanagable.
Even when using hair oils or heating products my hair my hair seemed too thick and it was a bit of a nightmare to tie up.
This did leave my hair soft and nourished and wouldn't say its the worst I've ever tried it just doesn't seem suitable for those with thick hair, however, I've never heard a complaint from those with normal/ finer hair, quite the opposite.
Another small thing to add- this did strip my hair colour a little. It removed some of the colour until the third wash. Opps
I long to have sleek and smooth hair so whenever I see I product on the market which is meant to give you this, I like to give it a try.
I have seen this available in two different sizes, 250ml (priced at around £2.49) and 500ml priced at around £4.49. The 500ml bottles tend to be on offer of 2 for £5 so I tend to stock up on these when the offers are on. It is available from most supermarkets and places such as Boots and Superdrug.
The 500ml bottle stands around 8 inches tall and is white with a black flip to lid. One feature which I really like about the bottle is that you can stand it on the lid so when I am coming to the end of the bottle, it is still easy to dispense and I don't have to stand there shaking and squeezing the bottle.
The consistency of the product is really nice and thick and is white in colour. Despite being 2 in 1, this lathers up really nicely and I don't have to use too much to give my hair a nice clean. The fragrance is quite fresh and a little fruity which I can smell as soon as I start to massage into my hair. What I love is that a few hours after I have had a shower, the fragrance is still present when I walk into the bathroom. My daughter has started using this recently and I have started to notice how nice this smells on her, even at the end of the day.
The product leaves my hair feeling lovely and soft, I think it does a great job at cleaning my hair, after styling it also feels soft too. The downside of this is that sometimes it feels like I haven't conditioned it as it does take a while to get the brush through and quite often I have to use a leave in conditioner or some detangle spray.
The next downside for me is that it doesn't make any bit of difference to how sleek my hair stays, yes it feels softer however the slightest bit of humidity causes it to frizz up, I would also say that I actually have more fly away bits than normal.
Overall, although my hair does feel soft when I use, it doesn't make it any sleeker than normal, nor does it help combat frizz. Having said that, my partner always asks me to buy it as he loves how his hair feels after using it, he also comments that it clears up his dry scalp so for that reason, this does get 3 out of 5 stars from me
I like using Pantene products but find sometimes they can be a bit hit and miss- sometimes they are great and others they're not so great as they leave my hair feeling heavy and sticky.
This particular product is really good because it is 2 in 1 so it has shampoo and conditioner which is really useful for when we go away and we don't have space for lots of bottles and it's also useful for when the children don't want a fuss so we don't have to keep using different bottles to drag it out.
The shampoo comes out quite easily, it's really thick and so lathers up well. It really helps to make my hair feel like it's been cleaned but the only problem is that is isn't as tangle free as when you use shampoo and conditioner separately. It still looks nice and it smells nice but it is still quite tangly and involves me having to take a hair brush throgh my hair to get knots out more so than usual.
I like that it makes my hair shine and it looks nice and it really does feel nice and clean. It doesn't make my hair heavy and it's very easy to use. The only problem is that it is very difficult to get the effect of conditioner when it is used within a shampoo so I do get the best result when using two separate products.
I do recommend it but don't expect it to be amazing.
I'm not a fan of long beauty regimes, including hair care, so a 2-in-1 shampoo is a great thing for me. I was once told by my hairdresser that these were a bad thing for hair, as conditioner can only really do its 'thing' when used separately. However, I can say without a doubt that when I started using this 2 in 1 there was a clear improvement in how soft my hair felt and it's overall feel to me.
I really love the smell of Pantene - and in my experience all 'varieties' have the same scent. It is a lovely clean smell, and it has a kind of sweet tang to it, which is quite strong in my opinion. Being honest, however, I can envisage that being so strong, to some people it could almost be a slightly sickly smell. The good thing about the scent (assuming you are like me and find it pleasant!) is that it definitely does linger too.
The shampoo/conditioner itself is white with a fairly thick consistency, although it does run from the bottle without too much of a squeeze. It has a silky feel in the fingers, and it lathers quickly and easily on the hair. I usually massage into my hair and scalp for a couple of minutes before rinsing out. The bottle does state to repeat if required but, one application is all I use each morning. Needless to say, for someone who doesn't want linger in the shower, the 2-in-1 approach is a valuable (if not huge) time saver, and it has the added bonus of only needing to take one bottle when travelling.
Overall I consider my hair to be in very good condition. I believe that my Pantene is to thank for how clean and fresh it smells and feels each day as well as looking shiny and feeling soft to the touch. My hair is short and a 250ml bottle will easily last me 2 months, washing my hair daily. It's a product which regularly comes on buy one get one free offers, so I tend to stock up, and this way they usually work out at around £2 a bottle.
I often choose to use a two in one shampoo and conditioning treatment, mainly during the week when I am in the shower. I bought a good one from Pantene (ProV) and this was only ninety nine pence from Home Bargains. So long as I don''t use this too long term then my hair is fine but I have found through personal experience that if I use this shampoo and conditioner for more than one week then my hair soon begins to look flat and lifeless. This shampoo is surprisingly thick and creamy and it smell lovely and fresh, like a summer meadow. It lathers up very well and it rinses off afterwards well too and doesn''t leave any stickiness behind. My hair feels surprisingly conditioned whenever I have used this product and I am able to remove al the tangles very easily from it. It leaves my hair and scalp feeling lovely and squeaky clean and it doesn''t dry my hair out. I have to alternate between this shampoo and others, however, because as i say, it does start to disagree with my hair after a bout a week of using it on a daily basis. It''s great for holidays or when you are short on time and my husband swears by it. I have to give it four stars as it really is good value for money and a brand I trust.
I like to keep a bottle of 2 in 1 on the bathroom shelf for those days when I am feeling lazy and just want the convenience of shampooing and conditioning my hair quickly.
While in Tesco last week I spotted Pantene at half price for the 400ml bottles so I decided to grab a bottle of the Pantene 2 in 1 smooth & sleek.
The 2 in 1 is for normal-thick hair. I like to think of my hair as normal so I felt that the 2 in 1 would be suited to me. The back of the bottle contains the usual information telling me that the 2 in 1 contains micro smoothers that work with my hair to silken each hair strand and will lock out humidity to prevent frizz forming. My hair can occasionally be frizzy so anything that reduces frizz is good.
Once my hair is wet I squeeze a good sized blob into my hand and massage it into my mid length hair. The 2 in 1 is a glossy white colour and nice and thick as it piles up in my hand rather than runs around. The 2 in 1 has a nice fruity smell, I can't pick out one particular scent but it is quite pleasant.
The 2 in 1 foams up easily and is easy to rinse from my hair and leaves my hair feeling clean and smooth. I only need to wash and rinse once as my hair feels clean after the first go around.
When I leave my hair to air dry it dries up soft but a little frizzy. When I blow dry and straighten my hair my hair is soft, shiny and smooth. The fruity scent stays on my hair on the day of washing but has faded the next day.
My hair feels and stays clean for around 24 hours, after this point I feel the need to wash my hair again. This is quite average for my hair.
All things considered I am happy with Pantene 2 in 1 smooth & sleek. It smells nice and cleans my hair with very little fuss. Although the results are not long lasting I am happy enough as I find the 2 in 1 convenient for lazy days. When I put the effort in and blow dry and straighten my hair it looks just as good as when I use separate shampoo and conditioner.
I paid just under £2 (half price) for my 400ml bottle which I feel is good value as the bottle will last my daughter and I a few weeks. I will only buy this when on offer as I feel the full price (£4) is a little expensive for a standard 2 in 1.
Thank you for reading.
I use a lot of two in one shampoos and conditioners for my hair, mainly because I am always running late, in a hurry and stuck for time and using a two in one product means less time in the shower and I can get out of the door and to lectures quicker.
I like the two in one shampoo made by Pantene because it's so creamy and it suits my hair and makes it look fab and in really great condition. I buy this from the pound shop but it used to cost a fortune a while back. It's really rich and quite thick when you first pour it into your hand and it leathers up fast. It rinses out well and there's no need to use a separate conditioner afterwards.
I was surprised when I first started to use this that it didn't make my hair look flat and lank. It really helps with split ends and frizzy hair and it also means I can style and manage my hair better after I've used this product.
A bottle of this size, 250ml, lasts me about three weeks because I wash my hair every other day. I think it would also be suitable for most hair types, including hair that's been coloured and it's gentle on the scalp.
I am not the kind of person who sticks to just one kind of shampoo and conditioner, I like to vary it and try different brands. Usually how i decide which to buy is dependent upon price! I have to be really careful with what money I spend so I tend to just choose whatever is currently on offer and quite often I don't really notice a difference between brands. I don't normally buy a 2 in 1 formula so when my husband brought this home I wasn't too happy but had to use it anyway.
Pantene is owned by Procter and Gamble and has been around for many years. I can remember being a small child and having Pantene shampoo. They make a variety of hair care products such as shampoos, hair spray and so forth. I have used quite a lot of their products because they are very affordable and tend to be good quality.
Smooth and sleek shampoo and conditioner 2 in 1
I do often buy Pantene products mainly because they are cheap, I sometimes get them for as little as £1 so I don't normally mind when my husband does the shopping and buys them but when he came home with this 2 in 1 I wasn't very happy. I always find that 2 in 1s don't work as well as when they are separate. I think my husband's thinking was that it would be cheaper or maybe he didn't really think and just picked it up but I wasn't very happy with his choice anyway! When I apply conditioner I do it in a different way to shampoo so having them mixed together kind of takes away the way in which I wash my hair and so this is one of the hurdles to get over when using a 2 in 1.
This comes in a bottle which is typical of Pantene. It is tall, quite slim, white and has a black lid. Now Pantene make a variety of shampoos from winter rescues to this smooth and sleek and the way to tell which is which at a glance is the colour on the front. Smooth and Sleek brand is recognised by it's leafy green details on the front. You can choose whether you have the bottle standing upwards so the lid is at the top or you can stand it downwards so the lid is at the bottom. I personally prefer to have it standing on it's lid as it means it is easier to get the contents out specifically when it starts to run out. I also find that it is more wobbly when stood the other way round which seems a bit odd but it is quite nice to have the option between the two.
The smooth and sleek range is supposed to give a result of smooth and sleek hair. I think this was really popular about 10 years ago when everyone wanted poker straight hair so did everything to get rid of any volume! I think it is usually good for my hair as I tend to have an issue with frizz so this usually helps to tame that frizz!
Using the shampoo/conditioner is really easy to do. It is quite an even consistency so you don't need to squeeze the bottle very much at all for it to come out. It's white in colour and smells like... well shampoo! It hasn't got a specific smell, a little soapy, slightly floral but nothing that stands out as a smell on its own which is fine by me although I do like shampoos that are scented. Always make sure you have wet hair before applying it, if your hair isn't really wet then it's harder to get it to rub in and it doesn't really have the effect it is supposed to. When I apply this I take care to make sure it rubs in to all of my hair, paying particular attention to behind my ears and near my temples as this tends to be where the grease comes in so it needs a really good clean. Usually when I apply shampoo I froth it up and give it a good rub in and when I use a conditioner I apply it in a more gentle way but with this I treat it like a shampoo which is a bit confusing seeing as it is both so it makes me wonder whether it will have the same effect upon the outcome.
I usually leave this in my hair for about two minutes before rinsing it out. It is easy to come out and then I notice it leaves a slight smell to my hair which is nice and clean and fresh although again not anything specific. After blow drying my hair I notice that when I use this combination shampoo and conditioner that my hair does look nice and clean, you can tell it has just been washed but it's definitely not as nice as if I had used them separately. Because I have had to rub conditioner into my hair rather than smooth it in the volume in my hair is more and it never has that lovely shine that using separate products tends to give it. It is definitely not a product that I think is lovely, I will make do with it but the outcome is always slightly disappointing for me.
I think this shampoo and conditioner comes in useful at times when you want to keep your baggage lower when you are going away or perhaps if you are in a rush so you don't have to use two products but personally I much prefer using two separate products because I apply them to my hair differently to each other to make sure I get the effect I want. These are blended together so I can't use them differently so the finished result is never what I hoped. It isn't a terrible result, it wouldn't make me throw the bottle away and not use the rest of it but it definitely isn't as good as using them separately. My husband uses this now mainly, he reckons there is no difference but I think it would be hard to see a difference in someone with such short hair! I'm glad he's pretty happy with it anyway so that at least one of us can enjoy using it! I don't really recommend this, it doesn't make my hair as smooth as I'd like it to and the shine that usually comes with this product is lacking some what which is a disappointment to me. If I see it on offer for £1 again I don't think I will be buying it, not for myself anyway which is a shame but I'd rather stick to something that I know has a better result.
I use this shampoo and conditioner in one and think it works fine for me.
The Mrs always buys herself a shampoo and conditioner separately but when we go on holiday we take a combined one with us to save space. I never see the difference so I started to buy myself this one too. I don't spend time grooming myself so this is great as it takes half the time!
It comes in a standard Pantene bottle which is white and we have the classic care 2 in 1 which has a blue label.
To look at the shampoo/conditioner itself it looks no different from the other separate ones. It's no thicker or a different colour and it smells just the same.
It is quite a thick product which I always think Pantene is.
I wash my hair with this in the shower and it goes a long way and makes lots of bubbles. It's very easy to wash out of my hair. The Mrs says it sticks to her hair a bit more but her hair is long and thick. The Mrs also says she uses conditioner differently she smooths it on her hair not rub it in so for her using this one doesn't work for her hair but for me it's fine. I don't do smoothing things into my hair so being able to just rub it all in in one go is fine.
It leaves my hair clean and that's all I want! Maybe if my hair was long or I was more self conscious I would notice a difference between using this one and using two separate ones but I can't say I can so I quite happily use this knowing it saves time and works just as well for me!
My other half buys a wide array of different hair care products in the hope that one day she will stumble across something that might actually help her with her numerous hair problems. My wife has terribly greasy (long) hair, which has always been in terrible condition since the day we met. The trouble is she has a phobia about getting it cut (or even trimmed a bit) and the downside to this is that it is shapeless, in poor condition, it has split ends and as she colours it herself at home, it has gone dry and fly away at the ends. She spends many hours in various shops perusing the shelves, looking for something to help, when I have told her time and time again that all she needs to do is give it a good cut and go to a decent stylist. She never listens to me though.
The other night when I jumped into the shower, I saw that we have now gone full circle, and she has gone back to buying something we used to use ages ago - i.e. Pantene Pro V 2 in 1 shampoo. Because it was in the shower, I just picked it up to use it, as I always do. I'm not fussed about what I use on my hair, it's all the same to me.
The bottle she has bought this time around though looks bigger than the last one we had - this one is a 500ml size and it stands tall with a flip top lid. I wet myself down in the shower, flipped open the lid and poured the shampoo out into my hand. The shampoo was fairly thick in consistency and an off white. I applied to my wet air and I noted it lathered up well. It smelled nice when I used it and as with all shampoo's I proceeded to wash my facial hair (I have a 41" beard now as I have had it slightly trimmed) and all over my body.
I realise washing your body with a hair shampoo isn't the norm, but this is just the way I wash, preferring to use it like this rather than having to also use a soap or a shower gel. The shampoo rinsed off well I found and left my hair feeling nice and squeaky clean and smelling quite fresh - not too girly though, which I was pleased about.
As it is a 2 in 1 combination, there was no need for me to have to use a separate conditioner. I noted that when I had dried my hair though that it felt a little flat and lifeless - not like me - I usually have a very perky beard which flies out in all directions. I was rather pleased with the tamed beard look but the hair on my head felt and looked rather flat and lifeless. This wasn't the look I was after. I mentioned this to my wife, who, as I say, suffers for greasy air and she also said she wasn't very pleased with the results.
I don't think this is a particularly good shampoo, and I would say that if you have greasy hair in the first place to be even more careful as the conditioning element of this 2 in 1 formulation appears to leave the hair feeling rather lack luster. The bottle cost £4.19 but I don't think it was worth the money.
Not overly impressed with this shampoo and don't think I shall be encouraging my dear wife to buy any more.
When it comes to many beauty products, particularly every day ones such as shampoo, I am not too bothered about which specific shampoo I use, or the brand in which it is. However, I just use what happens to be in the shower at that moment of time. Most recently, it has been the Pantene Pro V 2 in 1 Shampoo.
The product comes in a tall 500ml bottle, which is fairly big in size, meaning that it will last you a long time. It stands upright, and has a flip top lid. The packaging is nothing special, it is simply just okay.
To use this, simply open the lid and squeeze out a small amount on to the palm of your hand before massaging into the hair. Firstly, when the bottle is still quite full, the liquid will pour out very quickly, so you won't even have to squeeze it, so do watch out for this, or you will end up with quite a lot of wasted product, as did I.
One thing I find really important when it comes to hair products (as well as performance) is the scent of it. Pantene products, including this shampoo have a very strong, salon type scent to them which is effective as it makes them a great unisex product. However, I personally prefer to have fruity shampoos that have a scent noticeable to others around me. Overall, not too impressed on the strong scent of this.
When massaging the product into my hair, I did feel as if it was squeaky clean and doing the job well. I similarly felt the same feeling when rinsing out, therefore I had quite high hopes for this. Oh boy was I wrong.
After blow drying my hair, I was not impressed with the results. My roots were extremely greasy and there was residue left in my hair, despite the fact that I had rinsed all of the shampoo and conditioner out well. Wondering if this could be the reason why, I continued to use the product for a few more days, with my hairs condition just getting worse and worse. This could be due to the fact that there is a lot of conditioner within it, and having quite oily and greasy hair does mean that it is prone to get dirty easily. This shampoo just wasn't for me, and I would definitely recommend it more to people who suffer from dry hair.
If you are interested in buying the product, I purchased it from a supermarket, however they are often widely stocked throughout pharmacies and shops such as Boots where they are also on offer quite frequently. It retails at £4.17 which seems like a steep price for a shampoo and conditioner, however it is 500ml worth, and this can be very long lasting. Unfortunately, this didn't turn out to be the right shampoo and conditioner from my hair, and I will avoid buying it in the future, but this is just my personal experience. The shampoo worked very effectively on my boyfriend who has quite thick, dry hair. Thanks for reading and I hope that this has helpd you out.
I have to confess I bought this by accident. I'm not sure whether I thought it was Pantene shampoo or conditioner when I bought it, but when I found it in the back on my cupboard I was all out of other supplies to I opened it.
I really like Pantene products, especially the conditioner, but the idea of a 2 in 1 has never appealed to me. I normally see them marketted as quick shower wash products for men who play sports and wash in the locker room, not a dainty lady who takes good care of her hair. I was worried that it wouldn't do my hair as good justice as when I use the two products seperately.
Just over £2.50 for 250ml and for 500ml it works out a little cheaper in pence per ml, at just over £4 depending on where you buy it from. Every now and then Pantene products are on special offer, quite commonly buy one get one half price in my local tesco, so I normally stock up then.
The prouct comes in a tall plastic container, with a flip on and off lid, you can stand it upside down on this lid, which makes it easier to dispense the product once it has started to run out. The product is a creamy white colour, it is easy to lather into the hair with a bit of water, I need a 'dollo' the size of a fifty pence piece to cover my hair. I leave it to soak for a couple of minutes like I do with normal conditioner. I have no idea if this helps or not, it's more just habit! The smell is quite neutral and non offensive. It is is certainly not strong and fruity!
The product washes off quickly and easily. I always have to do a quick wash under my hair on my neck otherwise it can get quite greasy. It is worth remembering.
The first thing I noticed when I came to dry my hair was that it made my hair really knotty. No other pantene product has ever done this. It was really hard (and painful, I guess I was being a bit of a wimp) to get the knots out. I think this was because my ahir didn't have the extra conditioned effect you get from using conditioner. It didn't feel like it had that extra soft and sleek coating. I do think this is what caused the knots. The problem is that combing out knots causes quite a lot of my hair to end up on the brush and I need all the hair I can get.
On the plus sides, my hair did feel in good condition and it wasn't too heavy or slippery. It frizzed less once dry and it hed it's shaped better in a ponytail.
This actually works out cheaper than buying shampoo and conditioner seperately. It is easier and quicker to apply, but that time is then used up in the extra brushing you need to do!
I wouldn't go as far to say this is a successful two in one, but I would say it is a superb version of a shampoo with a touch of conditioner!
==Pantene Pro-V Shampoo and Conditioner==
I though I would write this review as a little bit of a celebration. This is due to the fact that I have finally finished this bottle and it has been in the bathroom for absolutely ages! For the last month or so it has been turned upside down to try and get it used up quicker as there was still plenty left.
I bought it literally months ago when it was on some sort of half price offer which I thought a bargain as it was a large 500 ml bottle. The fact that I hadn't used a 2 in1 shampoo for many years didn't deter me when buying this when perhaps is should have done!
The fact that such a large bottle would usually cost a little under £5 and I was getting it for half price seemed like a bargain. The fact that Pantene shampoo is a brand that I try to buy usually as it really suits my hair was another reason why I picked it up.
The smell of this 2 in 1 shampoo is really rather nice and has a classic type of Pantene aroma. It is fresh and sweet and has a particularly luxurious smell in my mind. Not only does the smell come across as nice when using the product in the shower but the fact that a very light scent of this is left on the hair once dry is always something I like too.
The 2 in 1 shampoo is very easy to use but I probably still use far too much of it than I really need. The bubbles are plentiful and there is a real thick lather produced under the warm water of the shower.
As far as the general use, the price, the smell and overall feel whilst washing my hair goes, I cannot really fault this product. However the troubles for me arose when I had come out of the shower, combed my hair and begun to dry it that I first noticed the thickness that comes from having put conditioner on my roots. I found that once my hair was dry it seemed rather flat and my curls didn't have any bounce to them and it gave me a rather sad look.
I ended up having to wash my hair again in a different shampoo to get my hair properly clean. But this didn't deter me at the bottle was so large I knew I had to use it up. I tried again a few days later with this shampoo and used less of the product and yet again got less than satisfactory results. I knew there was a reason why I didn't buy 2 in 1 shampoo's.
I let Himself use the majority of the shampoo and would once in a while give it another go but my hair would feel flat and heavy so would need to be rewashed straight away or thrown up in a "up do". Himself uses so little shampoo which is why it has taken so many months to get rid of. I can't say that I would buy it again and it has stuck in my head now that I will never buy a 2 in 1 again.
This shampoo might however be suitable for some peoples hair and himself did rather like it as it gave him a shiny, fresh smelling bonnet. Panetene usually do a really good range of shampoos and as a brand I highly rate them. However based on my experiences of this shampoo I have to give it a rather low score of 3 out of 5. The points that I have awarded are for the fact I usually do love Panetene products, the price I paid was cheap and Himself did like it.
I personally wouldn't recommend it.
Many tanks for taking the time to read.
I do hope that this has been of some help/interest to you
I am a big fan of pantene products but I have never been a massive fan of 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioners as I don't think they give the same affect as applying 2 different products.
The 2 in 1 shampoo comes in a normal white pantene bottle with a black flip top lid. Fairly average design and nothing special. On the front it says Smooth And Sleek so that was the result I was going for. I have used these products seperately before and they have worked great.
Pantene claim that if you have dry flat straight or wavy hair this shampoo will turn it into smooth glossy beautiful hair. The conditioner mixed with the shampoo is very light and light enough to use every day.
I like the way pantene products lather up on my hair as it is very long and thick so I need a good lather. I also like my hair to be absolutely covered before I wash it off. Whilst lathering I could smell the lovely pantene scent which smells like a salon. The mixture was very soft and creamy in my hands and it felt like I was giving my head a massage which was lovely.
I found that the shampoo was quite difficult to wash out. This is my fault as I over lathered and my hair is long. I took quite a while washing it out making sure no residue was left so I didn't get dandruff!
When my hair was dry it was really soft and looked very shiny. I have black hair so the shine shows up more and it really made a difference. My hair was also less frizzy and my curls were more tame.
250ml of the stuff will set you back £2.50 however 500ml will set you back £3.69. A good price to be paying in my opinion
Overall a great product from pantene but I still prefer using separate shampoo and conditioner but I would still efinetly recommend this if you don't have time to do both steps.
I have very long and extremely thick hair so finding a decent conditioner is really important to me as having so much hair makes knots an absolute nightmare! But having so much hair also means that shampooing and conditioning takes a considerable amount of time in the shower which occasionally, I don't have enough of, hence why I decided to try a 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioning combo.
My main reason for buying this particular product was because I have used Pantene's 'smooth and sleek' range in the past and had been quite satisfied with the results and as I was in boots anyway I thought I'd try it. From boots, a 500ml bottle costs £3.99 (a 250ml bottle is £2.55) but when I bought it (can't remember when) there was an offer on (can't remember what the offer was either, sorry) which was also a contributing factor into my purchasing decision! Boots are really good with their offers so if you do fancy trying it, an offer will probably re-appear at some point, although for 500ml, I don't think £3.99 is all that bad, especially as you get lovely boots points as well!!
Ok, so the product itself! Like I said, my sole reason for deciding to try a 2 in 1 product was as a time saver and obviously, on that basis it delivered beautifully! When I use it, it literally halves the time I spend in the shower and I have to say although I was a little sceptical about how conditioning a 2 in 1 product could really be, I was pleasantly surprised.
The bottle is like all other bottles in the Pantene range. It is very tall and a little rectangular in shape. It has a dark navy blue/black flip top lid and the bottle is predominantly white. There is a green band on the front of the bottle which indicates that it is from the 'smooth and sleek' range, each different type of shampoo/conditioner has a different coloured band making them easily identifiable on the shelves. For example, the 'repair and protect' has a bronze band, 'classic care' has a blue band etc.
Like a typical Pantene product, it has a fairly pleasant smell, but one you would definitely associate with a shampoo as appose to having a floral smell or something like that. It is a white liquid which is very very thick. For very thick hair, I prefer thick products because they go much further and last much longer! Making them great value for money!!
I applied the product like I would apply any shampoo, and it lathers up brilliantly! Like I said, you really don't need much and I have never used another shampoo that creates such a thick lather with so little of the product which is something I love about this.
The smell is quite strong when you're putting it on, but it's a typical Pantene smell which is quite nice. It creates a very satisfying lather and washes out easily without leaving any residue. My only issue with using a 2 in 1 product is that after rinsing your hair, it doesn't feel conditioned. After using 2 in 1 my hair feels the same as it does after just using shampoo. However, do not let this put you off!! Once my hair was dry, my hair was in the same state, condition wise, as it would have been if I had used the traditional shampoo followed by conditioner routine.
For this reason, I recommend this 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner 100%. It is a quick and easy alternative to using separate products and in my opinion maintains a high level of condition after use. I was put off at first by the way my hair felt after rinsing, but I was very pleased with the results afterwards. So if you are looking to shorten your showers without sacrificing the use of conditioner, then I really would recommend you try this product.
