Pantene have changed my mind and that's not easy! (Pantene Pro V, 2 In 1 Shampoo)

Advantages: Only taking one bottle into the shower

Disadvantages: I don't think I'd be able to use it every time I washed my hair

I've never been a fan of 2-in-1 products that combine shampoo and conditioner, especially those manufactured by Pantene, mainly because I've previously tried one of their 2-in-1 products many years ago and it left my hair all sticky.

However, having been swimming last night and having forgotten to bring any shampoo or shower gel, I decided to 'borrow' some of the Pantene 2-in-1 Smooth and Sleek Shampoo and Conditioner that my friend had brought with her, albeit reluctantly.

The bottle is white, with a flip top that covers the whole of the top of the bottle. This opened easily, allowing me to squeeze out some of the shampoo. I say squeeze, but I found that I didn't really need to squeeze as it sort of fell out. This meant that I had rather too much in my hand, but I went ahead and slapped it on my hair anyway.

It lathered up really well and the lather felt really smooth on my hair, although it made it feel as if there was hardly any hair there, especially as my hair is already extremely fine. Washing it off however, took ages. This was partly my fault, as I very rarely use conditioner and I was trying to get the feeling of clean that you get when washing pure shampoo out. Then, gradually it dawned on me that this product contained conditioner, which tends to leave a silky feeling rather than a squeaky clean feeling.

Towel-drying my hair, it again felt as though I had hardly any hair and I was a little concerned that it would leave it flat against my head when it dried.

However, once dry (I always tend to leave my hair to dry naturally), it had fluffed up a little, whilst still looking smooth and shiny. It also felt very soft with no tangles. And today, it's still sleek and shiny with no tangles. Most importantly, there are no bits sticking up, which is usually an issue for me upon waking. Bonus!

So the question is, would I buy this myself? Having looked at the Boots website, I could buy a 250ml bottle for £2.29, or I could push the boat out and get 500ml for £3.69. The larger size is also part of a 'buy one get one free' offer, on selected Pantene products.

On reflection, yes I would buy this 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner, especially as it's in the BOGOF offer, but I wouldn't use it every time I washed my hair. Perhaps once a week, but it's certainly impressed me and completely changed my opinion of Pantene to boot. Well done, Pantene!
