Advantages: Not much
Disadvantages: Wrecks your locks!
Pantene, I always used it, thought it was one of the best hair brands around. I was WRONG as I found out a few weeks ago! I have always had healthy hair and I've always been proud of it so have usually, always wanted the best hair products around for my locks! I change my shampoo&conditioner on quite a regular basis depending on what offers are on at the shops! I usually look for the 'BUY1 GET 1FREE' deal so then I can buy the shampoo and get the conditioner free! I had recently been doing this with the 'Pantene classic care' range, the 'BUY1GET1FREE' offer was applicable for quite a while on this range at my local sainsburys! I was quite satisfied with the product, it worked well and left my hair smelling lovely and still in good condition, what more could you want from a shampoo&conditioner!? Well.... Don't let yourself be fooled, this stuff isn't all it seems to be! I learnt my lesson about a week ago when I took a trip to my local hair salon on a Saturday morning, I was there from half 9 till midday, why!? I was getting blonde highlights put into my hair, I was really excited but come midday I wasn't so excited! The highlights hadn't taken to my hair at all! What a waste of money and time! I was quite 'peed' off! ~ If thats the safest way of putting it! The hairdresser was as curious as I was to why the colour didn't take to my hair! She asked me a few questions and having not dyed my hair for over a year we were struggling for solutions!!! Then it all bottled down to the shampoo I was using, Pantene. The hairdresser knew what was up as soon as I said, 'Pantene' Thats really not very good for your hair, I remember her saying! I'd always thought Pantene was a pretty decent range, full of quality and very professional but I was very wrong! I got told how the shampoo wrecks your hair as well as most other Pantene products and since I was also u
sing the conditioner, this had coated my hair in a silicon layer preventing the dye from actually getting through to my hair! My hair was caked in plastic! My view on hair products has totally changed now, this Shampoo&conditioner from the classic care range are really not to be recommended from me personally!!! I have been steered of any Pantene products now! THE PANTENE CLASSIC CARE RANGE ~ The shampoo&conditioner range comes in different types and bottles as like most 'NEW' ranges nowadays. You have the 'Normal Hair' bottles (Which I was using) Also the 'Dry/Damaged' and 'Volume' bottles. The shampoo&conditioner themselves are nothing special, they smell nice but the smell isn't distinct at all but is pleasant. The shampoo&conditioning creams are a plain while/creamy colour, again nothing special. PACKAGING ~ Each bottle is white with different coloured writing for each kind of bottle, the packaging isn't very interesting and each bottle is normal size. You will all be glad to know that I have since switched shampoo&conditioner and I got my hair redone! (It looks fab, just to let you all know! HeHe!) I hope I've managed to pursuade you all not to use this product, it really gets you thinking of what rubbish goes into hair products nowadays and whether you can actually trust how good they say they are!!! Please note: The other hair range to look out for is 'FRUCTIS' apparantly this range is just the same! The best hair products out at the moment are so I'm told 'V05' and 'Herbal Essenses' Thanks for reading everyone, emmaxXx :0)

- 30/12/03 Thanks! Your review really helped me! I used to use Pantene but hadn't died my hair or anything, but lately I've been using bottled highlighting gels and stuff and if I had still been using Pantene, it probably wouldn't have worked. I switched from Pantene to John Frieda a few months ago. So thanks for the advice, I'll be sure to stay away from Pantene and Fructis!
