I am quite loyal to both the Herbal Essence and TIGI hair products but every now and then I will buy something else if I see it on a good offer. On this occasion, I bought the Pantene Pro V Classic Care Shampoo and conditioner. This review will be of the shampoo.
What does the product do?
The product promises to cleanse the hair leaving it looking healthy looking and manageable. It claims that it will leave hair looking shiny, moisturised and incredibly fresh and clean. It is suitable for all hair types and the particular pack that I bought donated 5p to a cancer charity. Although this isn't much, every little helps!
How do you use the product?
The product is to be applied to damp hair and massaged in generously through both the roots and the length of the hair. It is then to be rinsed out thoroughly and followed up with a good conditioner.
Packaging and Price
The product is contained within a large white plastic bottle. The packaging is plain other some blue bands and my particular one has a cancer ribbon on the front. The bottle has a flip top lid which is easy to open and close with wet and soapy hands. The product will cost you around £4 at full price for 500ml of the shampoo. You may find it cheaper or on offer if you shop around. It can be bought from most large supermarkets, stores such as Boots or Superdrug, and also from a range of online websites.
Application and Performance
The shampoo doesn't really have much of an aroma to it other than being very fresh smelling like newly washed clothing. It does have a tiny hint of fruitiness to it but the aroma is delicate and not strong enough to put anyone off using the product. It is pearly white in colour and has a fairly thick consistency for a shampoo. You don't need to use much of the product in order to get the desired results. It is easy to dispense from the bottle and easy to work into the hair. You quickly build up a big bubbly lather in the hair which makes you feel like its doing a good job of cleaning all the grease and hair products from your lock.
You can smell the product a bit as you work the shampoo into your hair. It feels completely comfortable on my scalp and hasn't caused me any irritations or discomfort. The shampoo is easily washed out once the job is done. After use, I can brush my hair through easily so it must be fairly hydrating as it hasn't caused any tangles. Once my hair has been dried, it does look in a good condition. It has a lovely shine to it and it looks in a good conditioner. It looks really clean and it smells really fresh. It manages to remove all of the grease and hair products from my hair. It keep my hair looking clean for around 48 hours which is what I expect from a shampoo.
All in all, although this shampoo is expensive, it does a really good job. It cleanses my hair well, conditioning it and leaving it free from tangles. It keeps it clean for two days and give it a healthy shine. I probably wouldn't repurchase this again unless I saw it on offer because it's expensive but I will keep my eye out for a reduced price and will happily continue to use my bottle until it's gone.
I've always thought highly of Pantene, even though I wasn't a regular user of their products. I do remember using it growing up, but I stopped using it once I got to my teenage years and I started experimenting with fancier shampoos. I purchased this shampoo as I saw it was on offer and I always love to grab a bargain. I also thought it would be nice to see whether pantene had changed after all these years.
Pantene Classic Care retails at £4.49 for a 500ml bottle. I got this on offer at £2.99 which is a third off the original rrp price.
The shampoo aims to give healthy looking and manageable hair from root to tip. It brings out shine for healthy looking hair. It will also leave hair moisturized and incredibly clean. The shampoo is aimed at all hair types. It contains Pantene Pro V advanced technology that precisely cleans and conditions hair for manageability and to keep it strong.
The shampoo itself is white and foams easily. It doesn't have a distinctive smell, but then again it is a basic shampoo in the pantene range. It lathered really well in my hair and washed out really easily. This shampoo does leave you hair feeling clean, but it doesn't do much else. I must say I have dry hair that is wavy/curly. So after shampooing my hair didn't feel any softer or conditioned. Also after drying there was no shine. These are the results without using the conditioner. With conditioner my hair is left in a much better state. But in comparison to other shampoos that I have used on their own, this product isn't really worth the £4.49 price tag. I have bought similar shampoos that have only cost me a pound from Tesco. So in that sense I may as well buy the tesco shampoo if I am on a budget.
Gentle oh hair
Leaves hair clean
Basic shampoo, no distinct features
I really wouldn't recommend this shampoo, purely because you can buy similar shampoos at a much cheaper price. I'm not saying this is a bad shampoo at all, just that it's not worth the money
I am a big fan of the Pantene range of hair care products. I used to find that they were more expensive than they are now but I think lately they seem to have come down in price. Pantene make a huge range of different hair care products but one of my favourites is their Classic Shampoo. For approximately £2.50 I can buy a 250ml white bottle of shampoo.
It come with a a lid which you just lift up. It stands sturdy and secure at the side of my shower and does not tend to fall over as I wash even though I am a big bloke and need a a lot of space in my shower.
I only need to use a very small amount of this shmapoo in order to be able to get a really good lather. Once my head hair and facial hair are wet I apply the shampoo which feels thick and very creamy in consistency and it lathers up very well.
It is easy to rinse off afterwards and leaves no sticky residue behind. I like the smell of this shampoo too. I personally think it always smells clean and fresh and not too womanly. This is a shampoo which in my opinion can be used either by men or women and I am more than happy to keep using it.
It makes my hair look in great condition afterwards, especially if I use the conditioner by the same manufacturer.
Brilliant product and really recommended.
Today I will be reviewing Pantene's Classic Care shampoo. It is available to buy from Boots for £2.60.I have been using this shampoo for the past week and I am very pleased with it.
The shampoo comes in a bright white bottle and is very attractive and clearly stands out. The bottle has a 'lift up' lid which is very secure and so means that it won't leak everywhere.
Using the shampoo is very simple. Simply wet your hair, apply around a 10p size to your hair and lather. Rinse well.
I found that this shampoo lathers really well. It creates a really rich lather which I like, as to me it seems that the product is working. One thing with this product I found is that you do not have to do a second wash (like a lot of other shampoos recommend) as one wash is good enough. The shampoo rinses out really well which is good as it means that your hair doesn't end up looking dull because you have left shampoo in it.
Even though I have 'silly' hair which likes to do its own thing - my hair comes under the 'normal' category; it's not dry, it's not curly and it's not flat or coloured. This shampoo gives my hair volume in a good way - it gives it oomph without making it go all over the place and also makes it manageable too which for me is great!
Despite being quite a rich product, this product does not weigh my hair down which Is good.
I like this product because it makes my hair look really healthy and shiny. Being a student and working two jobs means that I am always on the go and so my hair does get greasy quite quickly after all the running around. However, when I use this product my hair looks clean and fresh all day until I wash it again which is good.
~ * Value For Money * ~
Whilst £2.60 does seem like a lot of money to pay for a 250ml bottle of shampoo - being a student I have to watch my pennies like mad - however, I do think that this is well worth the money. I see it as a luxurious product and it lasts me about 10 washes which I think is good.
I would definitely recommend this shampoo.
Thanks for reading!
Pantene is a brand of hair care products in which I always have confidence. I have used quite a lot of their shampoos and conditioners over the years and have recently been using their Classic shampoo on my thick and rather tough hair. As I have been swimming a lot recently I wanted a shampoo that was kind to my hair whilst getting rid of any chlorine and salt and I have found that Pantene Classic fits the bill very well.
Classic Good Looks.
The Pantene range is easy to spot in the shops with their distinctive white plastic oval bottles with different flashes of colour according to the type you choose. Classic has flashes of an attractive kingfisher blue on its body and a dark blue flip up top on which is embossed Pro-V. The body of the bottle is cleverly shaped with flattened sides making it easy to hold with wet or soapy hands. If you hold the bottle up to the light you can just see how much you have left but only just. One of the reasons that I like this Classic shampoo is that is has refreshingly little written on the bottle. On the front it states the name , and that it promotes healthy , strong, shiny hair. and that is it. On the reverse of my bottle it says more or less the same and that it is suitable for normal hair types.Thedirections given are," Apply, rinse and repeat if you wish!" Succinct and to the point. No spiel about ingredients picked at dawn by specially trained Tibetan monkies or that you will be able to swish your way to success if you use this shampoo, just clean and healthy hair. The ingredients, which are many, also appear on the reverse as does the web site adress www.pantene.com which I had a little stroll around before writing this review.
My Classic experience.
Flip up the well fitting top,( you can stand this bottle upside down without fear of spillage) and I pour a good dollop into the palm of my hand . The shampoo is rich , glossy, creamy white with a slightly fruity fragrance which would not cause offense to the macho men in the family and is nice enough for us girls too!. It spreads easily through my hair and givs a good amount of foam without going beserk. I give my hair a good old scrub and the rinse out, I don´t feel the need to apply again as my hair now feels clean and fresh. After use my hair feels healthy and looks quite shiny but I personally always need a conitioner to combats the roughness of my hair.
It´s a good shampoo and does a good job. It delivers what it says and I will be happy to continue to use it in the future and offer it to any guest who is shampoo-less. My shampoo was bought in Spain so the wording on the bottle may vary a little but the spirit is the same. Yesterday I checked by looking at the Classic range in Morrisons in Gibraltarand noted their prices.
I found that Pantene may cost a little more than some and less than others, about in the middle then. The prices were 4.79p for 500ml and 2.99p for 200ml so it is worth waiting for a special offer but I think you can be confident in buying a good classic shampoo.
5 stars from me for a job well done.
Available widely in supermarkets .Pantene also do a Classic 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner and a Classic conditioner.
Thanks for reading, may also be posted on Ciao under splishsplash.
I am a fan of Pantene and so tend to buy it when ever I can. Due to the price of the shampoo and conditioner I purchse whichever is on offer at the time.
I generally go for the smooth and sleek version, green top, as my hair is a bit frizzy and flyaway. This is a very nice basic shampoo with no frills atttached really.
It has the normal Pantene frangance when latering up and really does lather well on wet hair. When washing out it comes out well even when washing in the bath which is nice as there is nothing worse than having shampoo left in the hair after washing.
When styling you can see that this is classic care and not smooth and sleek as the hair is a bit more flyaway. Once straightening tongs have been used my hair is very smooth and does look norished with this.
You are looking to spend about £2.50 for a 250ml bottle on this and is the same as the Smooth and sleek and the like. This is nice to use if you are not going anywhere to style your hair and just want a natural look. It does tend to feel nice knowing it is "classic Care" for some reason and a bit rustic!! It seems to be nice to give your hair a bit of time off from the hair straightenher and the "Smooth and sleek" additives (whtaever they are) in the other versions.
Once my hair has been washed it stays clean and fresh for the following 24hrs which is nice. I tend to wash it every day as I just like having really clean hair and do tend to play with it a lot which makes it greasy. However if I miss a day then tis shampoo does keep it fresh and clean looking which is nice.
This is a nice shampoo and nice to use as an alternative any kind of styling shampoo and does feel like it is doing your hair good.
Price wise it is the same as the others in the range. It is a bit expensive for shampoo but plenty of offers in Supermarkets to be able to pick up a bargin.
I have always liked the Pantene brand and the classic care range is no different. In this range there is a shampoo, conditioner, a 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner, a hairspray and a mousse.
The bottle of the shampoo is sleek and a pearlised white in colour with metallic ble accents on the bottle and a black flip top lid at the top. The claim is that you will have healtheir loooking hair within 10 days. You can buy the pantene shampoo in a couple of different sizes but of course the bigger the size the more economical it is. Pantene is a little more expensive than some of the rival brands so I always make sure I stock up when it is on offers.
The shampoo itself is white in colour but also has a pearly look to it, the shampoo is very thick and only a little is required foer a good wash even with my long hair. The shampoo smells really fresh and lathers really well meaning there is no need for a second wash to get the extra lather as it is there the first time. The smell of the shampoo seems to last all day on my hair and my hair does have a really lovely shine when using the pantent products especially when used with the conditioner.
Would recommend this shampoo.
I have been using Pantene shampoo and conditioner for at least 10 years and it remains my favourite brand. Pantene caters for people with every type of hair group and is supported by the Institute of Trichologists (independent hair-care experts).
I usually buy the Pantene Classic Care Shampoo which is for 'resilient, healthy looking hair that shines' (normal hair). I find that a little goes a long way with Pantene, I probably only use about half a teaspoon of shampoo at a time on my long hair. This means that a 400ml bottle lasts months even if I wash my hair on a daily basis. The shampoo has a beautiful pearly shine to it and it lathers well when being rubbed into your hair. It also rinses out easily. I never feel the need to wash twice as once cleans my hair thoroughly. Pantene has a wonderful fresh and clean smell. My hair smells clean all day long without the shampoo fragrance clashing with the fragrance of my perfume.
The packaging is stylish and elegant. It is quite a tall pearl-coloured plastic bottle with a black lid. The flip-up section of the lid is easy to use and it has a small hole in the centre to allow you to pour out a small amount of shampoo at a time.
Pantene is a very affordable shampoo and a 400ml bottle costs £1,57.
