Advantages: Does what it says on the bottle.
Disadvantages: A bit pricey compared to what I'd normally pay
I was given a gift pack of these for Christmas off my mum. Since going blonde I have been using Sunsilk but was pretty chuft when I opened this because it's not something I would normally buy my self because I know it probably costs a fair bit.
In my pack I got a shampoo, condiioner and a colour intensive treatment. All are for 'natural and colour treated blonde hair and promise to 'protect against damaging elements, reduce brassiness and give a healthy looking shine and strength'.
Shampoo.
The shampoo comes in quite a funky cylinder shaped bottle which looks very designer and it's yellow in colour as I have the version for blondes.
The shampoo itself is yellow in colour and has a very fresh smell to it almost what you would get with a shampoo in a salon. It's quite runny in consistency.
I didn't have to use a lot and when I was working it through my hair I knew it was giving it a thorough clean. It rinsed out easily and left my hair squeaky clean.
Conditioner.
The packaging is yellow and it's a funny, oval shape which stands on it's head.
The conditioner is much thicker than the shampoo and comes out like a worm. When i rubbed it through my hair I could feel that it was going to do a good job because my hair felt super-soft and I could run my fingers through it despite not brushing it before entering the shower. Once I applied it to my hair from root to tip I left it on for a couple of minutes to let it take affect. It doesn't say I should do this on the bottle but I usually do this with any conditioner.
After using both the shampoo and conditioner together I dryed my hair as normal. I was so impressed with the result. My hair looked really sleek and shiny and it smelt absolutely lovely. It felt much softer than it has been since I had it dyed 7 weeks ago and even the hairdresser in the salon commented on how soft it was!
Colour intensive treatment.
This comes in a smaller tube than the shampoo and conditioner and there is a sticker on it saying it was voted product of the year 2007. As you can imagine I was dying to use it and I was expecting great things.
The consistency wasn't as thick as the conditioner. I'd say it was inbetween the shampoo and conditioner. It has a slightly different smell to the shampoo as well but it's still really nice. I used as much as a 50 penc piece and massaged it through my hair. It did go on easily but it didn't make my hair feel as soft as the conditioner. I left it on for around 4-5 minutes as it recommends on the back of the tube. It did rinse out easily but I have to say it didn't leave my hair as soft and shiny as the conditioner did. I'm not sure what it's doing inside the strands of my hair but I outside wasn't brillient.
I am really impressed with these products and I am definately going to start buying them myself! I think I will give the Colour intensive treatment a miss though and just stick to the hampoo and conditioner as these products combined do a really good job.
As far as the promise of 'reducing brassiness' goes, I'm not really sure if it does as I haven't really experienced this problem yet.
Summary: Amazing products which really work well.
