“ Brand: Pantene / Type: Hair Spray / Texture: Gel / Hair type: fine hair / Working for: curly hair „
I absolutely love pantene products. They are the only shampoo I wash my hair with and I have total faith in them. My hair started to go really curly but they weren't defined curls just frizzy limp horrible things. I then turned to Pantene to save me but they have let me down alot. I got the perfect curls spray for only £1 at boots as it was on clearence. This is a good price to pay for the rubbish quality your getting. The spray comes in a white plastic bottle and holds 150ml of the stuff. It has a black spray top however this is broken now but it doesn't matter as I'm not going to use it again. Pantene Claims: They will give you well behaved none frizzy curls and twirls. Well they weren't exactly lying. I did get curls and twirls however they were rock hard and sticky. My hair smelled of the product which doesn't smell bad but it doesn't have a nice smell either. It was pretty hard to get a good affect with a little bit of the product so I had to spray it quite alot. They say it works well on damp hair. I don't agree with this and I find it works alot better on dry hair. If you spray on damp hair the curls will be non sticky. That is if you get any curls. If you spray on dry hair you will get curls but they well be very sticky. So its really a loose loose situation. The best affect I got was spraying a little bit on dry hair and scrunching excessively. I still didn't get what I was hoping for but it wasn't that bad. These curls did last all day long but were do hard for me. Overall I wouldn't really recommend this product to anyone unless you want rock hard curls. Stick to the shampoo- this will give you a way better effect.
Two weeks ago I found myself running out of my favourite L'Oreal curl spray so went to purchase some more. To my dismay the three shops I went in have stopped selling them, so that's another of my curl sprays that has stopped being produced, it seems that just as I find one that suits my hair they stop selling it!! So back to the drawing board and wasting my money on trying new curl sprays out!! The first one I tried was Pantene Perfect curls, curl creating gel spray a 150ml bottle cost approx £3.60 from Boots. The bottle is a creamy white in colour with a black spray nozzle. It has the Pantene logo on the top of the bottle and the name Perfect Curls, curl crunching gel spray written underneath, it also states that is flexible hold. On the back it states that this product will help you have curls that you can control, it advises that this light weight product helps you create curls and leaves your hair touchable, shiny and virtually frizz free. Directions are that you should spray the product evenly through damp hair, then use a diffuser to create perfectly defined curls. I did as the instructions said; I firstly shampooed and conditioned my hair, then whilst it was still damp I sprayed the curl spray throughout my hair, scrunching it as I sprayed. The spray itself is clear in colour and has a light perfumed smell to it, it is a pleasant floral smell and not too over powering, it doesn't smell like any other Pantene product I have smelt. The spray is not sticky to touch, there is a slight thickness to it but it is not very sticky as some gel sprays are that you can buy. My hair dried very quickly with the diffuser, I ensured that I dried all sections of my hair that had the spray on. My hair is naturally curly anyway, but I could see that my hair was drying with a nice curl to it. By the time I had finished I had a lovely head of curls, they weren't frizzy and looked very healthy. With some products on the market, I find that my hair can be left looking dry and frizzy but this wasn't the case with Pantene. Overall I was very happy with this spray and think it did everything that it stated it would do on the bottle. My only problem with it is that it did leave my curls feeling slightly stiff, but that is to be expected with a gel spray. It is definitely a light weight gel spray as it states on the bottle but the curls are a little bit too stiff for my liking, therefore I wouldn't use this product again.
My first choice for shampoos and conditioners will always be Pantene Pro-V. Before my hair turned curly I found the curl shampoo and conditioner to be the best. I think it is due to the combination of the products having to be rich enough to nourish frizzy hair, whilst remaining light enough to give curls their bounce and as a result gives the best of both worlds to all hair types. Therefore when I began to use products to enhance my natural, albeit rather limp, curl I first of all turned to Pantene pro-v. However I must confess I was deeply disappointed. It seems that Pantene pro-v's crown lies only with washing and they rely on their prestige to mask a range of inferior styling products. The curl creating spray did give slightly more prominent curls but it required several long minutes of scrunching the hair before any result could be seen. However I found the product to be sticky, even in small amounts and therefore the curls created were not defined but the cohesive hair stuck together in a haze. This stickiness quickly turned crispy as hair dried and this made playfully running hands through hair a rather uncomfortable process due to the hand becoming entangled and even the pleasure of stroking hair was denied as is denied. If this product is used i recommend using it on sopping wet hair, not towel-dried to dilute the product. However all the negative effects can be avoided by simply giving the product a wide berth. If your heart still lies with Pantene pro-v instead opt for the curl crème. This is richer and leaves hair feeling nourished but is hazardous for those with fine and limp hair. The best deal for all Pantene pro-v styling products can be found in Superdrug stores where they are 2 for £4.19, a permanent deal very close to being buy one get one free as an individual product costs £3.99. However don't be tempted by these low prices, remember that they have better prices to compete with better products. Another big giveaway for their inaptitude is the above models gorgeous tresses created with low budget products. Remember if a product looks too good to be true, it probably is.
Combining curl creation performance and long-term hold, this gel spray is applied in a fine, even mist that is ideal for smaller curl transformations /
