I picked this up from Superdrug whilst it was on offer a few months ago. I wanted to give my shoulder-length hair -which is dried out from styling, a moisture boost. This treatment is part of the 'repair and protect' range which aims to nourish hair and provide protection against future styling damage. The range has recently had a re-vamp, so the packaging on the shelves looks different to the image seen above. This product has now been branded a 2 minute intensive repair treatment - but the detail of the product remains the same. The RRP of the product is around £5 which I find to be a reasonable price for a 200ml tub.
The instructions on my tub of intensive repair treatment (prior to re-vamp), tell me to apply to damp hair and leave on for 3-5 mins, then rinse. The product is contained in a screw top pot, and the thick cream is easily scooped out with fingers. The treatment has the same, thick consistency as most conditioners and has the same fragrant aroma as all other pantene pro v products. The cream is silky and soft to the touch and its richness allow easy application to the hair, it does not run down my hands or straight off my hair - it stays put!
As soon as the cream is on my hair I can feel a dramatic change in its softness, my hair feels silky and tangle free. The time I leave this on my can vary between 30 seconds and 5 mins, but each time my hair still feels moisturised and nourished.
Washing out the treatment is stress-free, it rinses out in around 30 seconds. My damp hair is tangle-free and doesn't even need brushing and I don't feel there is any need for serum or additional conditioning sprays on my hair.
When my hair is dry it has shine and still looks and feels soft, plus it smells great and frizz is reduced. This treatment is not miraculous, but it is the best high street product I've tried. If your hair is very dry then extra conditioning spray may be needed, but this is all I need for my shoulder length hair. No residue is left on the hair and my hair doesn't need to be washed any quicker than usual.
Overall, this is a great, budget product, I think this will give some high-end salon brands a run for their money.
I bought this hair treatment a while ago, and the other day when my hair was feeling particularly dry and straw-like for some reason, I dug it out of the back of the cupboard and decided to give my hair a little bit of attention. I had used the treatment previously, but for some reason with these things I never seem to make time (even though it only takes two minutes!) and I tend to wait until my hair reaches "critical" level of damage before doing anything about it.
The tub I have looks slightly different to the one in the picture, mine is white/cream in colour with a navy lid. I've just checked online and the one I have does appear to be the current packaging for this product. The masque is available in the usual places you'd find Pantene products, such as Boots, Superdrug, and the supermarkets. Price-wise, I think I got this in Superdrug and it was about £3 for a 200ml tub. Tesco currently have it priced at £2.00 and it's also on a 3 for 2 offer so you could get it alongside your usual shampoo. I think it's very good value for money as it does actually work and a tub lasts a while.
The idea of this hair masque is to put moisture back in your hair and make it sleek and smooth and generally improve the condition of your hair. The masque comes in a tub as described above, and even if you used this once a week as part of your weekly routine, it would last you a while because you don't need to use much each time. The only criticism I have of the packaging is that it's a good idea to open it before you get your hands wet otherwise you might struggle with the screw top lid. Also, it's worth keeping it out of the way of the shower head otherwise you'll end up with water in your tub which will change the consistency of the masque and make it less effective.
The masque is very easy to apply, you just use your normal shampoo and then slap a blob of the treatment on afterwards. It states on the tub to leave it for a couple of minutes before washing it out, and I tend to put it on first whilst I shave or exfoliate or whatever else needs doing (the joys of being a woman!), then it's ready to rinse out. After this, you style your hair as you normally would.
This masque is a very intense treatment which I find most effective when you use it now and then rather than all the time. As soon as the masque goes on your hair, you can feel the condition of your hair improving. When you rinse it out, your hair feels smooth and it does a really good job of detangling your hair and making it easier to deal with. A comb just glides through your hair after using this product. The masque doesn't make your hair feel heavy or like it's got a build up of products in it, as long as you take your time rinsing it out properly.
I must admit this is one of the few hair products which makes a real difference to the condition of my hair. After drying my hair it feels silky soft and smooth, and I get fewer flyaway frizzy hairs. I'm quite lucky in that my hair is generally in good condition, but it does suffer from heat damage from using hairdryers etc, and also dry ends when I can't afford to have it trimmed and it gets too long! Using this treatment makes my hair look healthier, and also makes me feel better that my hair hasn't been neglected and is in good condition.
Judging my previous reviews, I'm sure you'd be surprised to find there was a hair treatment I haven't tried. I have recently changed my hair products, ditching colour protectants to repair and protect products. This is because my colour went too dark and the last thing I wanted was to prolong the shade. I also wanted the shine and gloss back into my hair.
For those who don't know, a hair masque is an extra treat you can give your hair, in addition to conditioner. Many experts suggest a treatment at least once a week, but for the last few years I have used a treatment after every wash, as it really does benefit my hair. If you buy a good quality mask that suits your hair needs, your hair should be able to take it no problem without there being any build-up. Just give a good rinse afterwards, as you would do with conditioner.
I had tried the sachet of this particular Masque, the Patene Spa Inspired Care Repair & Protect masque - a few weeks ago and was most impressed with the results, so decided to splurge on the real thing, a 200ml sized pot of it costing £4.07. (It is now on offer for an incredible £1.99 at Superdrug!!). I unfortunately bought it before this offer, and £4 is generally the maximum I would be prepared to spend on a hair masque, unless it was for a special occasion or extra special treat.
The packaging is quite sleek - a navy blue lid, white tub with gold and white writing. It certainly looks posh on our bathroom shelf. But, is it any good?
"Instantly restore the look of health to your damaged, tired hair with this rich, luxurious treatment".
After shampoo and conditioner, I apply this throughout my hair and leave for a few minutes before rinsing off. The smell is quite pleasant - it reminds me of lilies, but with a classic conditioner mixed in. Not too overbearing, just pleasant and fragrant enough. 200ml might not sound like a lot, but you really don't need too much of this product as it glides through the hair easily. For a professional touch you could use a wide toothcomb and comb the product through (as they do in my hairdressers) and leave it. The longer you leave it, the better the results.
I always consider a good hair masque to be one which instantly changes the weight of my hair - making it feel ultra light is a good sign of quality and this masque does just that. I instantly notice the difference in how my hair feels, before I've even rinsed the masque off. Even though my hair is still wet, it looks like it has been given a boost and I can see the shine.
When I have rinsed it all off and I've finished drying my hair, I really notice the difference. My hair is really easy to run my hands through - there are no knots and barely any flyaways. The end result is really smooth, wonderfully smelling hair. I would also say it's improve it's glossyness too, which I've found is not as easy to achieve on brunette hair as it is with blonde hair.
Through research I found this masque is just one of five treatments that are available in the Repair & Protect range. I would strongly recommend this product/range to anyone whose hair is lacking smoothness and needs a little tlc to repair any damaged ends. I haven't used Pantene before using this masque, but it actually makes me consider switching to them as I have been really impressed with this product.
I would say this product is one of the top 5 hair masques I have ever used - certainly one of the best for under a fiver. If you can get it whilst it is onsale in Superdrug then I'd say it's an absolute bargain for £1.99!
*please note the product in the picture is different to how it's currently packaged.
I have very fine, limp and flyaway hair and am constantly swapping and changing from one conditioner to another and back again, with little helping the condition. I'm going to admit straight away that this product isn't a miracle worker, but it most definitely warrants recognition as a good quality, effective hair treatment.
Pantene Pro-V is an excellent range of haircare - it is as good as many salon brands without the salon price tag, and is very kind to sensitive scalps, meaning that even those with sensitive skin can use the range without worrying about irritation or inflammation.
A pot of this '2 minute hair treatment' costs around 4.00 normally, but Superdrug are currently running great promotions on Pantene products, and I picked up a tub of this for just 1.75. If you're wishing to take advantage of such offers, I recommend that you pop down to Superdrug soon as such promotions are unlikely to last long.
The mask should be used as follows; after shampooing and conditioning your hair, apply this treatment onto moist hair (dab hair dry with a towel after rinsing out conditioner). Leave the mask on for 2 minutes (if you are in a rush!) as this is the time recommended by the product. However, if your hair is in desperate need of a kiss of life, leave on for as long as you deem necessary! What I tend to do is take a shower before bed and apply it onto wet hair after shampooing. I then leave the treatment on overnight, and rinse off in the morning, before applying a little conditioner to the tips of my hair.
The effects of this treatment can be seen after just one use. Hair looks noticably healthier and smoother and split ends are must less visible. It is a genuinely good quality product which does exactly what it claims to do. One downside is that the treatment conditions so deeply that it leaves hair possibly a little too smooth and almost flyaway. However, I assume that this is due to the fact that my hair is so fine and I do leave the treatment on overnight. However, this effect lasts only until I next wash my hair, whereas the repairing properties of the treatment continue to take effect well past this. Therefore, it is most definitely worth putting up with 'over-conditioned' hair for just one day!
I am never disappointed with Pantene products and this is no exception. It is a good quality product which does actually work, and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg! If your hair is in need of rescue, try this product - at this price, you don't have much to lose!
As someone who regularly bleaches and colours her hair I've been investing in 'intensive' conditioners for some time in an effort to restore some moisture to my chemically frazzled hair shafts. At first I tried several brands but then I discovered that Elvive products were quite effective and began to use them exclusively. That changed when I saw this Pantene product on sale for marginally less than my regular Elvive tub of the same size. The rival products are both around the £3.90 price tag and are marketed as being a stronger masque-style hair treatment than your average conditioners.
The product is labelled as 'Pantene Pro-V Repair and Protect' and is described as an 'intensive hair treatment'. It is not made specifically for a certain type of hair, i.e. dry or coloured, so anybody can use this. The product comes in a 200ml sized sturdy pearly white plastic tub whose labels are tinged with gold and black. The product looks very sleek and professional. The tub has much information on the label including a paragraph on the benefits of the product. Pantene promise that the conditioner will add moisture and 'leave hair more resilient against styling'. They also claim the conditioner will aid shine and give nourishment to the hair. The Pro-V label refers to their vitamin enriched formula.
I have always used intensive conditioners as a weekly treatment as I think the forumla tends to feel quite heavy and thick over the hair. Once a week seems to be enough to keep my hair in order. On the instructions of use on this Pantene product it doesn't specify how often to use this but merely states to apply after shampooing and conditioning (with a regular strength conditioner) and to leave for 3-5 minutes before rinsing. I have been using it once a week though and would recommend this to other users.
The conditioner is glossy and white and has a thick, jelly like consistency. It is easy to scoop it out of the tub with your fingers and seems to stay in soft peaks in your hand. It is actually so dense in texture that whatever fingermarks you leave in the tub stay in that impression until you next use the conditioner! The fragrance is quite mild and airy. It has a sort of cotton-fresh, summer fields kind of aroma - not too fruity or false. It is a mature sort of fragrance that I think would appeal to most customers.
I find the conditioner is easy to apply to the hair and work through. It does seem to have a rather waxy or greasy feel to it. It's as though i'm insulating my hair with some kind of waterproof substance! It is mild on the scalp and it is easy to leave it on the hair for the 3-5 minutes as it does not drip or feel unpleasant. After the stated length of time it is easy to rinse out and as I'm running the clean water through my hair I can feel it is instantly thicker and stronger.
My damp hair is easy to comb through and style and the pleasant fragrance remains. Once dry my hair feels tougher yet soft. It is as though the conditioner has helped to strengthen the hair without making it more coarse or unmanageable. My hair is left quite shiny too - more so on the less damaged parts of hair though. Even on the most damaged, driest ends of my hair though, the changes for the better are obvious with the hair being less flyaway and unruly.
I am very pleased with how this Pantene product performs for me. I would say it performs slightly better than my other regular instensive conditioner from Elvive. This product feels like much more of a luxury and gives a more obvious result. The only advantage Elvive has is that it's conditioners are aimed at specific hair types and they also promise different results from each conditioner treatment. Although I believe you can now get intensive treatments aimed at coloured hair from Pantene. However, I'm happy with this Pantene product and will keep using it!

I was looking for an intensive conditioner when I found this intensive on made by Pantene. It gives deep conditioning, nourishment and protection to your hair. I have used many of thier products in the past and always find them very good. This particular intesive conditioner caught my eye because of the way it was packaged. Instead of the usual tube or bottle this one comes in a plastic tub. It is a very nice looking tub. It is mainly white and has some very nice gold writing on it. The tub I picked up cotained 200 ml of the product and cost £4.99.
The first thing I noticed about the conditioner when I opened the tub was the lovely smell, it was nice and fresh and I could not wait to try it. The conditioner is a very thick consistency. After washing your hair you apply the conditioner, massage in and then leave 3-5 mins before rinsing out. As I was rinsing my hair it already felt much nicer.
After I had dried my hair there was a visual improvement. My hair looked smoother and the split ends were much less noticable. It also looked very shiny. My hair felt very soft and did not feel dry. I noticed the biggest improvement in the ends of my hair, certainly felt and looked healthier.
I will definately be using this product more. I would probably say once a week is enough as it could get greasy looking if used everyday.
The only downside was actually the fact that it came in a tub. It was quite difficult to scoop out the conditioner with your fingers and avoid losing it all over the bath/shower.
It is available from supermarkets and chemists.
I first tried this product in a small sachet before I went out and spent around £4 on a large pot, and I was extremely pleased with the results!
My hair tends to always look damaged, it gets dry with split ends, and starts to look dull, so I'm always on the look out, and always trying new conditioners and hair masks to try and improve the condition of my hair.
I knew that Pantene was a trustworthy brand, so I thought I'd give it a go!
The conditioner smells really nice, like all other pantene products, and was lovely to put in my hair.
After washing my hair with shampoo I applied the Repair Treatment, rubbing it into my split ends and running it through the rest of my hair. I then left it in for a good 5 minutes before washing it out. Even whilst washing it out, I could feel the improvement in my hair!
After drying my hair, the improvement in my split ends were clearly visible.
My hair was no longer frizzy at the ends and was just so much smoother overall!
I use this product every other time I wash my hair now, to avoid it getting too greasy, but I was so surprised at how well this conditioner worked!
You can buy this product from most chemists, and supermarkets for around £4, and it lasts me just under a month.
I have quite thick hair, and straighten it all the time, so it gets damaged quite a lot. But this product has really helped to reduce my split ends, make my hair smoother and much more manageable.
I would highly recommend it!
Over the years i have tried hundreds of different brands of shampoo that have promised a number of things,i feel these promises have never been met. It happened one night whilst watching tv, during the ad breaks an advert came on for Pantene Pro V Repair and Protect, it said if you used this shampoo you could guarantee a reduction in split ends and your hair would be protected from getting any more, i thought it was probably a long shot but that was the one for me. I dashed out to the local chemist to purchase this miracle shampoo and promptly washed my hair with it that night, it was wonderful my hair felt so clean and teamed with the Pantene Pro V Repair and Protect conditioner my hair never felt and looked so good, i was delighted. On using the shampoo and conditioner for a week i noticed the overall condition of my hair improving, after about a month I could have been an advert for Pantene my hair was just as good as the ladies on the advert. I wont lie to you and say that my split ends are dead and gone forever because they are not but there is definately an 85 per cent improvement.
