Advantages: Nice smell and smoother, less frizzy hair.
Disadvantages: Definitely reminds me of custard!
I have very thick, rather coarse hair that needs a lot of conditioning. If for some reason I miss using conditioner I certainly notice the difference as my hair becomes dry, frizzy and unruly . I like try out different conditioners in my search for the perfect one and have just come to the end of a bottle of Pantene pro v nature fusion conditioner moisture balance which promises"touchable softness" and helps to protect against combing damage. It also claims to smooth frizz and give your hair a silky texture. Is it up to the job? lets see.
The Nature of Fusion.
No, not a physics lesson! Every brand needs a marketing strategy and Pantene are no different .Their claim is that they use the power of nature and science to produce a wide range of hair care products. "Moisture balance" comes in a basically white oval shaped bottle bearing the Pantene logo and stating" naturefusion". Beneath this is a bright green line and a futurisic type design which I think represents nature fusing with science but I could be wrong! The natural ingredients are also listed on the front, these being, extracts of ginger, calendula and aloe vera which is one of my favourite ingredients. The bottle is topped by a chunky fresh green flip up top highlighted by a narrow silver band..On the reverse of my bottle, in two languages, are listed the ingredients and how to use , also that it is suitable for coloured hair. The bottle is designed to stand on its head which makes it easy to use is the shower and to get the last bit out but it is hard to gauge how much is left in the bottle. The whole design is fresh, clean and pleasing.
Custard anyone.?
After washing and rinsing my hair I flip up the top and pour a good dollop (My hair needs a lot), of the rich, glossy, yellow cream into the palm of my hand. It does have a slight scent of ginger and is definitely a nice fresh and a bit fruity scent in the nicest way. The problem I have besides now having conditioner on my key board, is that, to me, it looks just like the type of thick custard which you use when making trifle! At first I found this a bit off putting, but I have got over it now! The cream is easy to work into my hair and I leave it in for a couple of minutes for it to do a bit of "Fusing" No problem washing it out and I leave my air to dry naturally as this results in less frizzy hair for me.
My Opinion.
Apart from it's rather weird resemblance to custard, I have found it to be a good but not great conditioner. If I wash my hair inthe morning it leaves my hair feeling softer and less frizzy for the rest of the day but the effects have worn off by the next day. I like the scent and it is lovely and creamy but the "Smooth Vitality" version works better for my hair. It is ,in my opinion in the middle price bracket and I would recommend that you try it as it may suit other types of hair much better than mine and I personally will continue trying out different conditioners and leave the custard for the trifle!
4 stars from me.
