Advantages: Great results
Disadvantages: None
Firstly I will begin by saying that picture of this product here is not the same as the one I am reviewing, although it is exactly the same product.
Maybe Pantene have changed the packaging recently, as the one I have bought is now in a tub!
I am quite a fan of Pantene, and frequently use Pantene Smooth n Sleek shampoo and conditioner as I love the results I get from using the conditioner.
However, us women do like to wash our hair frequently, and subject it to daily abuse with hair straighteners and hairdryers. So with that in mind, I do like to use an intensive conditioning treatment now and then to help repair the damage that can be caused by my almost daily straightening!
I have long wavy hair which curls at the ends, and when wearing it down I do like to straighten it, but have to pay a lot of attention to the ends to get them straight! Also my hair has a tendency to be oily at the roots and dry at the ends.
With that in mind, it is no wonder that the ends of my hair do become dry, which I try to protect by frequently having the ends chopped and using a lot of conditioner.
Having used various conditioning treatments over the years, and usually buying those single-use sachets that cost around 99p, I was attracted to this Pantene repair and protect treatment as it is currently on offer in Morrisons half-price at only £1.94 for a 200ml tub!
On the front of the tub it states the treatment will help hydrate and protect to give healthy looking shiny hair, protected from future styling damage. For dry or damaged hair.
On the back of the tub it states the product gives deep conditioning, nourishment and protection if you have hair that is dry/damaged or prone to split-ends.
Directions for use :-
Use after washing and conditioning your hair. Massage generously into moist hair from root to tip, leave for 3-5 minutes and rinse.
I was surprised to find that you are meant to use a conditioner on your hair before using this treatment, as most treatments I have used previously are to be used on your hair instead of a conditioner.
However, I followed the instructions and washed my hair with Pantene smooth n sleek shampoo and conditioner, before applying the treatment.
I found it smells very similar to my Pantene shampoo, which is quite nice, and scooping some out of the tub onto my fingertips I began applying it to my hair.
It has quite a thick, creamy consistency and I found I didn't need to use a lot of it on my hair as a little seems to go a long way. I loved the feel of it as I massaged it in, and found my fingers ran through my hair very easily.
I left it on my hair for the full five minutes before rinsing it off. My hair instantly felt soft, and I combed it through before drying as usual.
So did I notice any difference? ...... Yes definitely!
My hair felt really soft and silky. The ends in particular felt and looked much healthier, and appeared smoother than usual . I was really pleased with the results, and will continue to use this once or twice a week.
The tub will last quite a while so it works out much better value than buying separate sachets, even when it is full price.
For now though it is worth stocking up, as a lot of Pantene products are half price at Morrisons until the beginning of August, and at £1.94 this is a bargain as well as a great product!
Summary: A great intensive repair treatment.
