The Pantene Pro-V Repair & Protect Shampoo is available for GBP 2.89.
The shampoo is in a white plastic bottle with a black lid. On it are the product name and product information. It contains 250 ml.
The shampoo is described as follows. "Moisturisation and resilience/protection for your dry/damaged hair. The Repair & Protect collection helps to: Restore hair's strength. Protect against future styling damage. Prevent the formation of split ends."
The ingredients are Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Glycol Distearate, Dimethicone, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Citrate, Cocamide MEA, Sodium Xylenesulfonate, Parfum, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Polyquaternium-76, Sodium Chloride, Glycerin, Tetrasodium EDTA, Linalool, Hexyl Cinnamal, Ammonium Laureth Sulfate, Panthenol, Panthenyl Ethyl Ether, Hydrochloric Acid, Magnesium Nitrate, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Magnesium Chloride, DMDM Hydantoin and Methylisothiazolinone.
The shampoo is suitable for normal and thick hair. The shampoo has a creamy texture and can be applied well. The shampoo foams up well. The hair is easy to comb after use and feels cared for. The hair seems resistant and repaired. The shampoo gives noticeable sleekness, although the shampoo does not prevent the formation of split ends. The shampoo does not weight down the hair.
The shampoo has a fresh, fruity scent. The scent cannot be noticed after use.
I can recommend the Pantene Pro-V Repair & Protect Shampoo, as the hair seems resistant and repaired after repeated use. The shampoo does not weight down the hair and does not prevent the formation of split ends. The hair feels soft and sleek after use.
Although I have a few favourites when it comes to brands of shampoo and conditioner, I am also a stickler for getting a good bargain. Therefore when I saw the Pantene Repair and Protect shampoo and conditioner on a recent deal for £4 for the pair I popped them into my shopping basket. I have used the Pantene range of products quite a lot over the years but never having used the repair and protect range I was keen to see how good they were.
The packaging for the shampoo in this range has been updated somewhat since the picture shown on Dooyoo. The predominant colour of the bottle is white and this has been highlighted with a gold repair and protect logo and gold Pro-V capsule illustrations which adds a touch of class in my opinion and fits in well in my beige and white bathroom. A gold flip top cap completes this look and this serves as an easy way to pour shampoo out of the bottle.
On the back of the bottle we are told that this shampoo has three qualities which are (and I quote) as follows:
• Restore hairs strength against styling damage
• Prevent the formation of split ends
• Get healthy looking shine and smoothness
Inside the bottle the shampoo is white in colour and has a lovely aroma which is typical of the Pantene range. Although hard to describe I would say it is a fresh and clean scent with hints of citrus and this smell stays in my hair for a good day after washing. The shampoo has a slightly thicker consistency than I have used in the past although it lathers well when it comes into contact with water.
To use this shampoo I like to ensure that my hair is damp before applying a good sized dollop of it to the roots of my hair. Massaging the shampoo from the roots to the tips I like the way that it creates a thick lather and is easily distributed through my chin length hair. Once happy that it has coated every hair strand I then rinse my hair and follow with the recommended conditioner.
Before I talk about the results it is important that I describe my hair. I have a chin length bob with a head of fine consistency hair but lots of it. Over the summer I did have a couple of full head of highlights sessions at the hairdressers resulting in bleached hair which now looks past its best, therefore I hoped that a restorative shampoo would add some shine back to my hair.
Once rinsed and blow dried it is my opinion that my hair looks healthier than it had done before washing with this shampoo. Not only does it have renewed bounce and shine but it also feels softer to the touch and feels less like straw and more like my hair before the bleach. I really like this look and with continued use I have found that my hair is smoother and has suffered less from frayed ends. The only negative that I can find with this shampoo is that its bouncy qualities do not last as long in my hair as other products with my fine hair losing its volume by the second day after washing. As a result I would have to say that this shampoo has a tendency to weigh my hair down to a certain extent.
All in all however I do like this shampoo and with daily use my hair might always look full of bounce and renewed vigour. Therefore I would have to recommend this shampoo particularly for people with slightly thicker hair than mine and would score it a good four stars.
I hope this review has been of some help and thanks for reading! x

The Pantene Pro-V Repair & Protect Shampoo is available for GBP 2.89.
The shampoo is described as follows. "Moisturisation and resilience/protection for your dry/damaged hair. The Repair & Protect collection helps to: Restore hair's strength. Protect against future styling damage. Prevent the formation of split ends."
I try using different sorts of shampoos to see what's best for my hair. My hair is medium in every way and by that I mean it's medium thick, medium length, medium mid brown colour and medium in terms of not being dry or greasy so I pretty much can use any type of shampoo and I always look for the cheapest ones I can and go to the Savers shops or Home Bargains where they are better priced than the supermarkets. I like Pantene range and they do make a very big collection of different sorts to choose from. I like the Pro V Repair and Protect because I use a hairdryer and heated appliances so the ends can OCCASIONALLY get a little bit dryer that the top of my hair, but nothing to worry about and nothing which makes me thick that I have to go out and buy special products to beat the dryness.
This shampoo comes in a large sized bottle and only cost £1.59 for 500ml. This makes it hard to use when I wash my hair in the shower because it falls over on itself though it doesn't run out of the bottle because it's quite thick. The colour is pale light cream, not white and it glistens slightly. The smell is lovely and it's rich and creamy and lathers very quickly and well on my hair. I only use it once because I don't have long or very thick hair and one was always seems to be sufficient for me. It rinses off really well and leaves my hair feeling happy healthy and shiny and very manageable. I don't always use conditioner when I wash my hair but with this shampoo you don't really need to because the knots and tangle seem to be less evident whenever I use this shampoo.
It's well worth only £1.59 because a 500ml bottle lasts me about two months so it's great value for money and good if you are on a budget and watching the pennies. It's probably good for all hair type and for all the family to use and it does make my hair feel great so I am recommending it.
I've been using this shampoo for a while now, and thought it was time for a review. I'm not particularly loyal to any shampoo brand, but there are certain ones that I usually find myself going back to, and this is one of them. I usually stock up on this when the large bottles are on offer, since this shampoo can work out to be expensive in the long run. The product promises to repair damaged hair and protect it from future damage. I style my hair quite a lot, so this sounded perfect for me.
---Using the product---
The lid for this product is black, and on the top of the bottle, as opposed to the conditioner, which has a white lid on the bottom of the bottle. The lid is very simple to open, even when it's wet, which is a big bonus for me. It's easy to grip when you open it, and equally as easy to close again. When you close the lid, it clicks securely in place, reassuring you that it's not going to leak all over your bathroom cabinet.
I find that I only need a fairly small amount of this product each time I use it. It lathers up really well so it goes a long way. My hair is shorter than I'm used to at the moment, but even when my hair was longer, I didn't need to use a massive amount of product. I massage the product into my scalp, to not only give my hair a deep clean, but to make sure my roots benefit from the repair and protect formula. Once I've rinsed the shampoo from my hair, I follow it Repair and Protect Conditioner.
I've always loved the smell of this shampoo, and I'm so familiar with it that I can always tell if someone has been using it, especially when they've used mine! The smell is very fruity, but without being overly sweet and sickly. I find the smell to be very fresh and feminine.
---Does it repair and protect?---
I don't always have this shampoo, so I do notice when I use it that my hair feels healthier and stronger. Combined with the conditioner, I feel that this really helps to repair split ends caused by styling. The ends of my hair always feel softer and less coarse when I use this, and overall my hair feels softer and stronger. I definitely think that it helps to protect my hair too, as I don't seem to get as many split ends when I use it, even when I've been styling my hair a lot.
---Bottle size and price---
You can buy this shampoo in a few different bottle sizes; so far I've found bottles in 200ml, 250ml, and 500ml. I prefer to buy the 500ml bottles when they're on offer, since the bottle lasts for a long time and is great value for money. I sometimes spot the 200ml bottles in Poundland, so I'll buy some in there, especially when they're on a 2 for £1 offer. The 250ml bottles are available from Tesco at the moment for £2.89 and it's also part of a 3 for 2 offer, so a few bargains can be picked up there.
Although I don't always stick to the same brand of Shampoo, this is one that I always come back to, especially as I'm trying to grow my hair at the moment, and this product is helping by keeping split ends away. This isn't an expensive product, but it can work out expensive in the long run, so keeping an eye out for special offers on the large bottles is definitely worth it. This is one of my favourite shampoos, as it really gives me assurance that it's helping to keep my hair strong and healthy. A must have beauty product.
Not only do I wash and straighten my hair on a daily basis but I also colour it every few weeks but luckily I have inherited quite thick and shiny hair for which I will be eternally grateful.
I go through a lot of shampoo over the year but I am not brand loyal and usually shop around for the cheapest shampoos which happen to be on offer as my budget is really tight. One of my latest bargains was this Pantene which only cost me £1.99 for 500ml from Saver and I have been using it for over a month now and have found it to be excellent as far as application, results, smell and value of money.
The bottle is larger than ones I normally use and it has a flip top lid which means I can apply exactly the amount I need - I actually used too much the first time and have found that a 10p size is ample to do my medium length bobbed hair. The shampoo itself is fairly thick and lathers well and the smell is lovely - fresh and non-feminine - so I think is suitable for all the family. The ingredients on the reverse of the bottle do not give me any clue about the fragrance but I would describe it as a sweeter version of Vosene? Whatever it is it does linger for quite a while after rinsing which is good.
Despite the texture I find it rinses out easily and I have not experienced any heaviness or residue that I have sometimes felt with other products and it is easy to brush or comb my hair without tangles. When dried and straightened I find my hair feels soft and hydrated plus it looks healthy and glossy which makes me feel good. Although the directions advise 'repeat application if desired' I have never felt the need to which makes the shampoo quite economical considering how little is needed for each shampoo.
Just an extra bit of information on the bottle - 'Pantene is supported by the independent haircare experts - The Institute of Trichologists - founded 1902'. There are also phone numbers, an address plus website for those needing help and advice about hair care - does anyone actually ever use these I wonder....?
So, in conclusion, I would recommend this shampoo because it is easy to apply and to rinse out, makes my hair look and feel good and a big bottle goes a long way. 5 stars from me.
I do like the Pantene range of hair products and have been using them for quite a few years. I spotted this bottle of shampoo in a cupboard last year when I was sorting some items from my cupboards to make a little hamper of goodies for my mum as an extra gift for Christmas. I decided to use it the same day. It wasn't one I had bought for my mum and just one I had forgotten I had bought months previously.
I have grown my hair longer over the past year and it is very long now. My hair is in a good condition because I do treat it often and I just thought this shampoo would be worth a go to see if it helped keep my hair in a good condition.
It comes in a white plastic bottle which has a flip back lid. It is pearly white in colour and has a rich consistency and doesn't drip from the bottle while pouring it onto the hands. The texture of it is really smooth and soft and is more of a cream than a gel shampoo. It has a slight perfume fragrance to it and one which is really quite a pleasant smell but very subtle and not over powering fragrance but I did expect it to have a strong smell to it.
It is designed for dry, damaged hair, claims to improve the moisture balance and to leave the hair more resilient against styling damage. I do blow dry my hair more often than not and have found this one doesn't really give any special results to any minor damage I may have from colouring my hair. Also claims to prevent split ends, I don't have many split ends and so I cannot comment if it does actually give better results for the ends of the hair.
You don't need a lot of the shampoo to create a good lather on the hair, using too much isn't necessary with this one, a little goes a very long way. Just a small blob of shampoo is well enough to create the lather for washing my long hair. I have used this shampoo to wash my grandson's hair and only had to use a tiny amount to wash his much shorter hair and also the amount of hair he has compared to my much thicker hair.
The smaller amount is obvious as people who have children or grandchildren know less is needed to wash a child's hair. I haven't washed my little granddaugher's hair with this shampoo because she is only over a year old but I do think it would be suitable for a child of this age.
This one is very easy to rinse from the hair and it is a nice gentle shampoo. I find it doesn't irritate my scalp or the scalp of my grandson. It doesn't leave my hair feeling lank or weighted down. I do use a conditioner after I have washed my hair and this one works well used with a conditioner. I have brushed my hair after washing it and my hair is a little tangled but I could still brush it without having to tug it etc. Because my hair is really long now I do need a conditioner but I would say if you have short hair you could get away with not using a conditioner if needed.
The quality of the shampoo is really good. I cannot say it has repaired my hair in a way in which it looks or feels any better than before I used this shampoo. I think my hair treatment products have done this task for repairing it much better and not this shampoo alone. I tried it for a week without any hair treatment and found my hair didn't look as good a condition as when I used it alongside a hair treatment. This shampoo I find doesn't work well for helping in repairing my hair or working to protect it in any different way to any other good brand of shampoos in my opinion. I even used it without using a conditioner on my hair after washing it, found after a couple of days my hair didn't look in the usual condition, so I then had to continue to use this shampoo with my conditioner. My hair then looked much better and felt better too, so for my usage of this shampoo using it without the use of a conditioner didn't work well for my hair, so I don't think this one works well alone without an additional conditioner and works in the same way as any other good brand of shampoo. My hubby doesn't use a conditioner and this one hasn't shown any change in the texture of his hair or the condition of it and it appears just the same as any other shampoo he uses for washing his hair.
I have my hair trimmed regularly and so I don't have many split ends. I would say if you hair is in a really bad condition this one wouldn't repair it and be a miracle worker because my hair is in a good condition and it didn't work miracles repairing my hair but it does wash the hair well and help soften the hair. I do think the name repair and protect is just a name with this one and not any intense treatment like you may imagine. Well that's my opinion of this product. I don't think this shampoo would repair or protect badly conditioned hair in my opinion.
I would buy it again in the future but just for washing my hair and not for repairing my hair which may be drier sometimes. I do prefer my treatments for repairing my hair. But if you just like to wash your hair and don't like to use a hair conditioner or hair treatment, I do think this one would be a nice one to try.
I cannot remember how much I paid for this shampoo at the time because I had it stocked in a cupboard for quite some time and one I had forgotten I owned. But I would think it cost around the £2 mark or around that price. The bottle size I owned was 250ml.
The bottle can be recycled after use too.
I do recommend it if you are wanting a nice fragranced shampoo and one which cleans the hair well.
I give this one 4 stars, I am dropping a star because it doesn't really do anything special given the name repair & protect and because it doesn't work miracles.
Thank you for reading my review and I hope it has been of some help.
I straighten my hair (i.e torture it) most days and dye my hair quite often so it is prone to damage and gets really dry,i am always on the lookout for a hair product to combat this and i have to say i am regularly going back to Pantene, and in particular their "Repair and Protect" shampoo.
I put my hair through alot of daily torture so like to give it some TLC when i am washing it, this shampoo feels like it is going to nourish your hair the second it hits your hand, it is creamy and thick in consistency and feels luxuriously soft when massaging it into the hair. A little definitely goes a long way, i have long hair and a 10p dollop will do my whole head of hair, and a 400ml bottle will last me about 4 months. Another notable thing i like about this shampoo is the fragrance, it is not fruity in any way and the only way i can describe it is "clean". It lingers on my hair for more than a day and is just a very pleasant smell.
I use it in conjunction with the repair and protect conditioner and my hair feels like it has got alot stronger, i have recently had a baby and my hair has been falling out at an alarming rate but since i have been using this i have noticed a definite decrease in the amount of hair i am losing.
As this shampoo is for normal to thick hair i would caution those with thinner hair against using it as it may weigh your hair down, it is very moisturising and you really need to make sure you wash it out thoroughly. On another note those that hate products with sillicone in should avoid this too.
The only reason i do not stick to this shampoo all the time is that i find after using a bottle of it my hair gets used to it and doesn't respond to the benefits like it does when i first use it, but i find that with all shampoos.
Overall i would thoroughly recommend this shampoo, i really do feel like it protects my hair from the heat damage it suffers. I do not know if it repairs my hair as such, but i don't seem to get many split ends while using this and i am a bit scissor shy! My hair is supple and shiny and it seems to control the frizzyness i can suffer at the ends of my hair before straightening.
As it is regularly on offer in Asda at 2 for £4 i would suggest trying it, and if you don't get on with it at least you haven't wasted that much!
I am always trying different shampoos and normally go for the ones that are on 2 for 1 or half price.
That is how I first discovered this shampoo and I have loved it ever since.
The shampoo is available from supermarkets or chemists so you can always shop around and buy it from where ever has the best deal at that time.
This shampoo comes in a variety of sizes. I usually buy the 500ml one because there are 5 of us in our family so we get through quite a lot.
The product comes in a white bottle with the name across the front, it has a black flip top lid so it is easy to use in the shower or bath as you can easily open it even with one hand.
The shampoo is very thick and when you put it onto your hair it smells gorgeous. I think the smell is what attracts me to it most. You don't need a lot of the shampoo at a time. I have quite long hair and only need a small amount (about the size of a 10p) and that does all my hair. The shampoo lathers up really well too even on the first shampoo (I normally shampoo my hair twice).
Due to the small amount you need the bottle lasts a long time I normally only have to get one every 2 weeks and that is with 4 people using it every day.
The shampoo leaves your hair in really good condition and when I have dried my hair after applying the shampoo it smells really nice still which is what I like about it. My hair always looks mice and shiny after I have washed it with this shampoo.
I normally straighten my hair and some shampoos leave it very fly away but this one does not it is still very easy to manage when I have used this.
I would really recommend this shampoo for any family it is a good quality, good value shampoo that is suitable for all the
~Washing my hair with Pantene Pro V~
I have bought and used Pantene Pro V Repair and Protect shampoo when I was lucky enough to have been given some money off coupons that gave me £1 off each bottle of shampoo or conditioner. I don't normally opt for Pantene as I find it can be rather hit and miss in terms of performance, so it was interesting to see how well the shampoo worked for me. I would say that very often with shampoos and conditioners from this range I can and do end up having to wash my hair more frequently than usual, as they can leave my hair feeling a little over moisturized, which was sadly once again what seemed to happen when I used this shampoo.
The idea of Pantene Pro V Repair and Protect is to aid dry/ damaged hair by adding extra moisture and whilst I did opt for the product knowing that my hair is not overly dry (although it has its moments) I felt that it might be useful to keep this shampoo to use as a hair treatment from time to time rather than as an every day shampoo which I knew might over process my hair. When I bought my bottle of this I also bought a number of other Pantene hair care products including the matching conditioner product, which I thought I would try together with the shampoo. I found that when I used both products together the results were rather lack lustre as my hair felt too heavy and oily, almost as if it still needed a wash, which I wasn't overly happy about.
Pantene say that this shampoo will help to aid with 'moisturisation and resilience / protection ' against any potential styling damage if used on already dry/damaged hair. In use I found that whilst the fragrance, look, feel and texture of the shampoo all seemed good and the shampoo felt nice when I used it to wash my hair with, it didn't leave my hair feeling as clean and fresh as I wanted it to be. I tried using the shampoo with and without the matching conditioner (which did help things a little) as both products together seemed a little too rich for my hair. I found that in the end the best way I could make use of the shampoo was to mix it in with a milder less intense shampoo, so as to dilute it a little, which actually gave me far better results which I was pleased about.
~The potential benefits of using the shampoo~
Products in the Repair & Protect range are aimed towards restoring hair's strength (which didn't seem to change at all for me when I used this shampoo) as well as help protect against future styling damage (once again I didn't really notice any major change here) and also help prevent the formation of split ends. I don't seem to have a problem with split ends as keeping the hair regularly trimmed takes care of that, so I cannot really say whether the shampoo would have helped with this to any major degree or not. I can say that the fragrance of the shampoo was pleasing and the texture of it was creamy and thick enough so as to not require me to apply too much of it when using it to wash my hair with.
The shampoo lathered up well making lots of nice foamy bubbles that were easy to rinse off. This wasn't enough for me to want to buy the shampoo again at full price, as it left my hair feeling as if it had been lightly coated with something a little oily, which I really didn't like. I am pleased that I got the chance to try the shampoo at a reduced price and I don't feel that I wasted my money as I always believe that you need to try a shampoo out on your own hair to see if it suits you. I did manage to use up this shampoo and the other discounted Pantene hair care items I bought by mixing them with other milder less intense products and found that doing so gave far better results. After having used the shampoo I came to the conclusion that some Pantene hair care products suit my hair more than others and in this case the product wasn't really for me.
~Product rating/ price~
The cost of a bottle of this shampoo varies depending on the size bought and available in store offers and reductions. I bought a large sized 500ml bottle for just over £1.25 after discounts/ vouchers which I feel is fair value if the product suits your hair. The usual sale price for the shampoo is closer to £4 and can be a little higher, although there are very often half price offers around that make the shampoo better value for money. I didn't find that the shampoo suited my hair when used on its own or with the matching conditioner, although results were better when I mixed the remainder of the shampoo with milder products to dilute it slightly. My rating for the shampoo is 3 stars which I feel is fair based on the performance it gave when I used it.
WHAT IS IT?
This is a shampoo from Pantene Pro V. It is for dry and damaged hair that has got split ends.
WHAT I THINK
One of my clients likes to use this shampoo but I do not think that it is very good. It is a thick shampoo and I get a lot of bubbles when I wash my hair with it but I am always sorry that my hair does not look very clean after I have washed it. It does not work very well on my clients hair either but she will not believe me because she thinks that Pantene make the best shampoo but they don't always.
The smell of the shampoo is quite nice but it goes as soon as I have rinsed it off so I do not ever get chance to smell it for long. The conditioner smells better I think but that does not work on my hair either.
I do not like the way this shampoo makes my hair feel oily very quick after I have washed my hair and it goes limp when it is dry and I can not style it properly because of the texture when I dry it. I had a fringe cut in my hair last week and when I used Pantene all the strands separated and it looked horrible and dirty. That was only after one wash but when I didn't have a fringe I washed it in this shampoo for over a week and it was only after all that time that I saw the back of my hair and by my parting looked very dull and greased.
After I have used this shampoo I have to always use conditioner and think that is bad because this is supposed to protect me from having dry hair but it makes it dryer and does not make it look or feel better after I have been styling it with heated stylers.
A 500ml bottle of Pantene Pro V Repair And Protect shampoo costs £4.50 and that is very expensive for shampoo that does not work very well.
1 Dooyoo Star.
When choosing my shampoo I just pick whatever is on the £1 shelf at my local chemist. I went in recently as my shampoo was getting low and saw Pantene pro v repair and protect shampoo so thought I would give it a try.
The packaging is just the same as any other Pantene shampoo; a white plastic bottle with a dark lid. It had a sticker on the front with the logo and what the product was. On the back was another sticker with the directions of use and the ingredients. It is a fairly simply packaging but it does its job.
The product itself feels thick and creamy and is white in colour. It comes out of the bottle very easily with a small squeeze. I only used a small amount and it lathered up very well on my hair. As I only had to use a small amount the bottle lasted longer. The smell of the shampoo was amazing, it was a light and clean smell (I couldn't quite put my finger on what it was) and it lasted in my hair for a good few hours after washing.
The only problem I had with this shampoo was that it left my hair feeling very greasy. It was far too heavy for my hair so once it was dry felt like was it had left a residue on my hair. After the first wash I thought I hadn't washed it out of my hair properly but wash after wash it just got worse and worse. I didn't actually finish the bottle as it made my hair look and feel so bad.
In the winter I always change shampoo to try t ohelp my hair remain as healthy as possible despite the weather. I always buy one which claims to protect your hair against the weather and usually I stick to this Pantene one as I do believe it works.
It comes in a typical Pantene style bottle and has a gold image on the front so you can spot it amongst the other types of Pantene shampoos on the shelf. It is easy to get the shampoo out as it stands on the cap end so it's easy to get the contents out even when it is starting to run out.
It smells nice and fresh, nothing specific smell wise but just a nice, clean and fresh smell which stays on your hair after washing which is nice but not too in your face.
The shampoo I massage into my hair and then rinse out, I then do the same again to get the best results. I don't need to use much as it lathers up really well so a little bit goes a long way.
Once I've dried it I think my hair feels nice and clean and has a nice shine to it. I do believe that it protects it from the elements as my hair remains in good condition even throughout the winter months and always looks rather healthy.
I think that I will be continuing to use this in the colder months so that my hair can be as protected as possible. It used to feel coarse and look rather dull through the winter and it doesn't now so I can only assume it is because of this shampoo. I definitely recommend it
I'm not really one for being extremely loyal to shampoos and conditioners unless they are reliably good value and are good to my hair. I find that most shampoos and conditioners make my hair feel clean and soft as they suit my hair type which is long and thick, I also naturally have red hair so my strands are quite thick! I'm a big fan of straightening my hair and I am often on the search for a good product that nourishes and cleans my hair but also repairs the damage caused by straightening. The ends of my hair are quite damaged and are prone to splitting, and when I saw patene being advertised promising to repair my hair and make it feel luxuriously soft again so I jumped at the chance to try it, also it was on offer at my local Asda!
I really liked the scent of this shampoo, it smells fresh and the consistency of the products are thick which to me signifies good quality. The shampoo lathers really well in my hair which again made me feel really clean which feels great especially after a long shift! The shampoo washes out relatively easily however the conditioner didn't feel like it was properly washed out no matter how long I stood under the shower for.
After a shower I try as often as possible to let my hair air dry so I don't damage it further with regular blow drying, but I noticed after using the Pantene shampoo and conditioner my hair dried much slower than usual and started to feel greasy after a while around my roots even though I only applied conditioner to the ends of my hair. I tend to have my showers at night to allow my hair to dry so I can straighten it before bed and wake up in the morning with a more natural wave to my hair, but after straightening my hair looked dull and flat still feeling pretty greasy like my hair hadn't been washed atall. The next morning my hair still felt greasy (particularly around the crown area)and my only choice was to tie it up because I felt uncomfortable with going to work with greasy looking hair.
I probably won't use Pantene again, the product is very good quality but unfortunately did not deliver the results I had hoped! The product feels far too heavy for my hair and would probably suit hair that is much drier.
When it comes to hair care I feel Pantene may be somewhat a cult classic. I've always liked this brand and the distinct smell never fails to whisk me straight back to my care free teen hood.
I manged to pick up a 250ml bottle for £1.69, at a local shop, however pricing may vary between this and about £2.50.
So what is the selling point:
This particular shampoo, Pantene pro v repair and protect has been developed for use on dry, damaged hair. The nourishing formula helps to 'heal' and moisturiser the hair from the roots, giving more shine and a sleeker look. It has a creamy texture and you only need a small amount (I have long hair and I use a 10p size drop), it lathers well and is easy to rinse. Thankfully it doesn't leave a residue as I have found so many moisturising shampoos to be heavy, making your hair look more weighty than sleek (and no one wants that!).
I did find my hair a lot softer, easy to manage and there did appear to have less visible split ends. Combined with other products in the range, such as the heat protecting spray. I do think that this product will continue to protect against any future styling damage.
