I'm not a huge fan of conditioners as my hair is prone to greasiness and I find conditioner makes this worse. However, sometimes when it's particularly humid or I can't straighten my hair, a little conditioner is essential to avoid frizz. Smell and texture: Pantene ProV Conditioner has a really pleasant light smell which stays in the hair. I love that this lingers so I can smell it throughout the day if I've used the product in the morning. The texture is quite thick but I find it very easy to apply. It can take a while to wash off and I have to be careful that none is stuck in or around my ears but this isn't really an issue. Effectiveness: Pantene ProV Smooth and Sleek conditioner is the only conditioner I now use as I only need to rub a little into the tips of my hair to feel the difference instantly. The conditioner leaves my hair feeling softer to the point that it's visible! I only need to use a tiny amount so the bottle lasts me ages. At £4.69 for 400ml (Boots) it takes me 6 months to get through this! The only disadvantage of this product is that it could feel a bit more luxurious than it does. The packaging could be improved to help this. As I use the conditioner on the tips of my hair only, it doesn't make my hair any more prone to greasiness. Unlike some other conditioners it doesn't weigh down the hair and leaves it nice and bouncy. Overall, a great cheap conditioner that leaves hair super soft and doesn't build up!
I tend to get really dry hair so I make sure that I give myself regular treatments to keep my hair in good condition. I don't really have a particular shampoo or conditioner that I have to buy as a daily one but Pantene is one of my favourites. I do find it expensive though so I make sure and look out for offers. The smooth and sleek conditioner costs around about £4.50 for a 400ml bottle which is more than I would normally pay for a daily conditioner but I like to treat myself to some when it is on offer. The conditioner is really good and it has a lovely thick and creamy consistency that is easy to spread through my hair from roots to tips. I always make sure to keep it on my hair for a good 3 minutes so that I can make sure and give it time to soak in and get to work. When I rise it off already I can feel the smoothness of my hair follicles. My hair isn't tuggy and I can get a comb through it with no problems and with no tats in it. When I blow dry my hair it feels super soft to the touch and it really is sleeker and less frizzy. I tend to get really frizzy hair in the summer when the humidity causes it to bush out and this really does help to keep it under control. I normally like big bouncy hair and although this doesn't give a huge amount of volume it also doesn't really weigh my hair down or leave it looking limp and lank. It doesn't make it greasy so long as all the conditioner is washed out properly but it does leave it looking shiny and really healthy looking. If I want big bouncy hair when using this it is easy to manipulate with some mousse and my blow dryer and at least my hair is left looking frizz free and healthy. My sister hates this conditioner and thinks it makes her hair greasy but she has slightly greasy hair normally. As my hair is mostly dry this works really well on it. If my hair was feeling or looking a bit greasy then I might not use this but for most of the time this is absolutely fine to use on my hair and it really does leave it looking good afterwards.
Since perms went out of fashion, I have tried to keep my hair as straight as possible, unfortunately, I have that sort of hair that as soon as the slightest bit of humidity is in the air, it frizzes up! One product I have tried to try and combat my problem if this range from Pantene. Whenever I buy a new shampoo, I always buy the conditioner from the same range so I get a feel as to whether the product does actually work. The conditioner is available in two different sizes, 250ml (priced at around £2.49) and 500ml priced at around £4.49. The 500ml bottles tend to be on offer of either 2 for £4 or more recently, 2 for £5 so I tend to stock up on these when the offers are on. It is available from most supermarkets and places such as Boots and Superdrug. I always try to buy the larger, 500ml bottle as the offer better value for money; the bottle stands around 8 inches tall and is white with a black flip to lid which the bottle stands on. I prefer bottles that stand on their lids as I find it much easier to dispense the product out. According to Pantene, the Smooth & Sleek range is designed to: * Fights roughness and controls frizz - I do find that my hair feels a lot smoother when using the range, however the slightest bit of humidity and my hair does start to 'get bigger' as the frizz starts to creep back in so 3 out of 5 stars for me * Leaves your hair beautifully silky smooth - Yes, initially, it does feel smoother but it still feels quite tangled during the day so 3 out of 5 stars. * Helps lock out humidity and leave your hair manageable - This is part that I think the product struggles with as I cannot tell any difference when I use this to any other product I have used in the past so. I would only give 2 out of 5 stars. The conditioner is quite thick and is a pearescent white creamy white, like the rest of the products in this range, the fragrance is quite fresh and fruity, but best of all, several hours after washing and conditioning my hair, it still smells great. Overall, although my hair does feel soft when I use, it doesn't make it any sleeker than normal, nor does it help combat frizz. I would therefore give this product 3 out of 5 stars. Thanks for reading.
This is a review of Pantene ProV Smooth & Sleek Conditioner. I have also reviewed the shampoo in this range as I used the products together. They were given to me as a gift in a toiletries hamper last Christmas. First step - bad If you read the shampoo review you will see that I was not impressed with the shampoo at all. The conditioner faired a little better in my opinion and registered on my scale as OK. Price A 200ml bottle of this conditioner is £2.87 at Asda currently or you can buy two bottles for £4. Packaging The bottle is cream plastic and sits on its head which is good as the product is always ready to come out when you squeeze the bottle. The lid is a press button and it opens a gap that you squeeze out the conditioner through. Thoughts The conditioner is important to me as I colour my hair and it can get dry if I don't condition. I rarely skip this stage. I found the Pantene conditioner to be nice and thick and that's just how I like it as it sticks to the hair better. In use After shampooing I like to apply conditioner to the lengths of my hair in a generous manner. I leave it on for at least three minutes before rinsing away. Each time I condition I use a big hand full as I have long hair. I probably use too much. Performance Once washed and dried my hair was smooth and glossy with this conditioner, I did find that the next day I really needed to wash my hair again but I think this is down to the shampoo failing to lather well on my hair. The conditioner is only going on the ends not the roots and this was the problem area. For this I cannot fault the conditioner. Final thoughts This conditioner is the thickness you can get in some treatment pots on the market so I think it is really good and sticks to your hair whilst you leave it on. I would buy this conditioner again but would not use it in conjunction with the matching shampoo. For me it rates OK but it is not the best conditioner I have ever used and as such I won't be rushing out to buy more any time soon. Many people on Dooyoo have rated this highly and said it is the best they have found on the market so perhaps it really depends on your own hair type. I would say try it yourself to see what you think and don't let my review put you off. Final word I found this OK to use but would not particularly be bothered about specifically buying this conditioner again.
Recently my husband had to buy some more of his favourite Patene Sleek and Smooth shampoo (probably because unbeknownst to him I have been using it!) unfortunately for him but fortunately for me he grabbed the conditioner instead of the shampoo. As he doesn't use conditioner being a wash and go type of chap he gave it to me. Like the shampoo this comes in a White bottle that you can not see through so it makes it more difficult to judge how much you have used. It is easy to confuse the shampoo and conditioner bottles so I have the shampoo besides the taps in our bathroom and the conditioner on the other side of the bath to avoid confusion. The conditioner is White and quite creamy as when you pour it out it doesn't so much as pool in your hand as coil. It has a nice fresh smell but the fragrance doesn't really linger in your hair once it is dry. I have long hair which does tend to get tangled especially as I wear it up often to avoid my baby pulling my hair out! I tend to squeeze out a good sized blob and spread it over my hands before smoothing it into my hair from the neck downwards as this is where my hair is the most dry. I then leave it for a minute or two before washing it out. It is easy to wash out and if you can face it a quick rinse in cold water at the end will give your hair more shine. I certainly feel the difference from using this conditioner as opposed to using none. My hair does feel smoother and it is easy to comb through. It doesn't leave the roots of my hair greasy although I don't apply it there. When wet it is tangle free and once dry it looks to be in good condition although it doesn't leave it completely smooth and straight. For comp, etely smooth hair I would have to use a styling product and blow dry with a paddle brush. Overall I would recommend this conditioner as an everyday use one however if you have very dry or frizzy hair I would suggest that you also get an intensive conditioner to use as well. You could try leaving in on and wrapping your hair up for a longer time but I just don't have the time to try this out at the moment. The conditioner is readily available from supermarkets and chemists and retails for around the £4 mark which I think is fairly good value for a 500 ml bottle.
This conditioner is good value for money as the bottle lasts for a long time even when using on long hair. Even when rinsing it out you can feel that it has immediately made the hair softer and I always know when I have forgotten to use it as my hair takes longer to brush and detangle after a shower. I only ever apply this to the length and end of my hair as, like other conditioners, it can make your roots look greasy after a while. I'm not sure if it particularly makes my hair look any shinier than it does otherwise. I think how you dry and style your hair after washing will have a much bigger impact on how hair looks than this conditioner will. The bottle is quite bulky and has no hook and water can collect in the lid which means when you open it, some cold water may come out from the last time you used it which is annoying. The conditioner itself is white and lathers up a little bit to make it easy to work through your hair so a little can go a long way. It smells pleasant like the matching shampoo from the same brand. Overall, I don't think this conditioner has a big affect on the appearance of my hair but it smells nice and helps with detangling.
Just like my favourite shampoo, Pantene smooth and sleek is my favourite conditioner, it does my hair the world of good. I always pick up this conditioner which I pick up the shampoo as they work together perfectly and my hair always looks amazing after it has been washed with these babies. Like the shampoo, the bottle is very similar and the main colours are green and white. The bottle is mainly white, and plastic and stands on its black flip top lid. Over the front is a sticker with the Pantene logo on and the name of the conditioner. On the back is the amount of ML you get and information on the conditioner. Over all, a simple yet attractive bottle which I like. The price varies on what size you get, you can get mini sizes of these which are handy for holidays, trying out..or bigger versions for when your a true fan. Prices range from around £1.50-£4.00 depending on where you buy, as I have said before Wilkinsons is a great place to look for these as it usually has the conditioner and shampoo on sale together. The range is mostly aimed at people with horrible dry frizzy hair, the range promises to help get rid of it, 70% less frizz than before, it always appealed to me because my hair is a frizz bomb and very dry throughout all the damage I have put the poor thing through. The conditioner is white in colour, has a lovely fresh clean scent and glides through my hair perfectly and very evenly, you only need a tiny amount and it does most of my head, I have just over shoulder length hair! I would recommend always leaving your conditioner in for a few minutes whilst you do other things, shave, use shower gel ect as it helps your hair more. The conditioner is extremely easy to wash out and also leaves your hair feeling beautifully soft and like silk. My fingers can go through it so easy and when I have used this conditioner I never have a problem with putting my hairbrush through it. The conditioner promises healthy looking hair in 10 days, I always notice just after one use how much less frizz there is, how shiny and healthy my hair looks and after 10 days you really do notice the effects, and so do other people. I love this conditioner, its a miracle in bottle.
I usually tend to try and use the matching Shampoo and Conditioner but other times I just use a different one. I tend to change my Shampoo's quite often and that usually means that there is some Conditioner that I am trying to use up, since Shampoo's go down way faster than Conditioners. I just finished using this Conditioner a few weeks ago and it is 1 that I have used off and on in the past. I bought this when it was on offer at Asda. You get this in a 250ml bottle and a 500ml bottle. The right price for the 250ml bottle is around £2 and I bought it when it was £1. The 500ml bottle is around £3.70. The bottle looks like the Dooyoo picture. It is a thick and sturdy plastic bottle. There is a stick on label on the front and the back and it all looks ok. This stands on it's lid as most conditioners do and therefore you should get all the drips out of this. The Conditioner is a medium thickness Cream. Easy enough to rub in your palms and smooth over your Hair. When you open the bottle you get the nice whiff of the Pantene smell which is a smell that I like. It smells clean and fresh. So apply this to your Hair and rinse off a couple of minutes afterwards. My hair feels soft and strong after it is rinsed out. So does my Hair appear to be Smoother after using this? It is hard to tell as I find that Shampoos seem to smooth a bit anyway. I will say that it appears to help a bit though. A nice enough Conditioner from a good Haircare range. Suitable for all hair types.
I think Pantene products are great for hair and this conditioner is no exception. I paid about £2 for it which is good value for such a good quality product that really works. The bottle is quite basic looking and is mostly white so doesn't really stand out but I know it is a good brand that does what it says so I knew it would really be good for my hair. One of the things that I really like about it is that it smells lovely and fresh and actually quite fruity. It has a distinctive smell and is lovely to use as it such a relaxing smell. I really like the fact that the smell stays on my hair all day after using this conditioner so I know that my hair looks and smells clean and fresh. I have quite dry damaged hair so this conditioner is perfect for me because I do need something that takes away some of the frizz and this really does. It leaves my hair looking a lot smoother and sleeker and it makes my hair look very shiny and healthy. It makes my hair a lot more managable and it is definately easier to straighten my hair after using it which really saves me time. I would definately recommend this conditioner if you want soft shiny hair that looks smoother and sleeker.
I have very long hair which tends to go frizzy very easy so I always need a good conditioner to be able to manage it! I have been using this conditioner for about 2 weeks now and there is a slight more sleek and shine to my hair but nothing different to other conditioners I have used before. The conditioner is very good for long hair as I hardly have any knots after washing my hair so it does have some de-tangling benefits to it. The plastic bottle however I think it quite poorly designed. When you get towards the end of the bottle it is a nightmare getting the conditioner out, you can feel there is quite a bit in there but you have to really shake the bottle and keep squeezing it to get it out, which when your in a rush for work in the morning is not good!!! The opening is at the bottom of the bottle and I often find that water tends to build up in the cap so when you open it up it goes everywhere! But I suppose when your in the shower it doesn't really matter because you are wet anyway!!! I wouldn't say this conditioner is outstanding compared to other brands, it's good and does the job but I personally can't find anything special that I can't get with other conditioners!
I absolutely love this conditioner and after the first use it has become my all time favourite. Using this alongside Pantene Smooth And Sleek shampoo left my hair very shiny and glossy. The condioner comes in an average Pantene bottle with a black lid. Nothing special but it does the job. However one problem I sometimes find is I pick up the wrong bottle. If I'm looking for some Pantene shampoo I will accidently pick up the condioner if I am in a hurry. I think they should make a more noticible difference between these two bottles. After using the shampoo and rinsing it out throughly I applied the condioner. Working a 50p dollop onto the ends of my hair and working upwards. I then rubbed a little onto my palms and quickly ran my fingers through my hair to give it some extra shine. As I was rinsing my hair out I could see a very big difference. My hair looked alot shinier however it did look greasy but sometimes shine can look like grease? Thats just my opinion. The condioner washed out easily. Once I had dry hair my hair was noticably shinier and the frizz I have a problem with was unusually tame! I had perfect defined curls instead of horrible big frizzy ones. The shamoo also left my hair very soft and silky. My hair usually feels weighed down as there is alot of it! However smooth and sleek conditoner left my hair lighter than usually and more bouncy and manageable. Throughout the day my hair became more managable. It was still shiny and clean the next day too so I could get away with not washing it. Pantene doesn't leave my hair greasy although by reading other peoples reviews it leaves theirs that way. This is just my opinion and everyone is different. I think the price is very reasonable at only £1.99 and I find one bottle lasts me for up to 2 months. You can buy it anywhere even your local supermarket. You get 400ml of condioner for this excellent price. Pantene claims: This condioner will leave you with frizz free tame manageable hair. Your hair will be smooth and sleek throught the day making it easier to style. Do I agree? Yes I do agree 100% my hair was left beautiful virtually frizz free and manageable. Styling it was a breeze too. Overall I think Pantene has came out on top with this product. I really do love it, my mother loves it even my gran loves it! I think it is fantastic and I got the results I was hoping for.
This conditioner is wicked, love using it especially along with the shampoo, and is a good price which is always useful as generally on offer in many supermarkets normally 2 for £3.00 It really does make your hair soft, shiny and manageable condition, and not just what the advert says!! Unlike other conditions, it is not heavy on your hair, and does not leave it looking greasy. Only thing I will say is that I have found certain styling products do not go well when I have used the condition, and neither does Aussie leave in condition (but that might just be my hair). The conditioner is really thick and therefore very good value for money, as lasts a whole lot longer. My hair is very easy to straighten after having used this conditioner and having naturally wavy hair its a god send!!! Would definatly recommend this conditioner along with the matching shampoo
Following on from my review of Pantene Pro V Smooth and Sleek Shampoo I am now going to review the conditioner. ***Packaging and claims *** Pantene Pro V Smooth and Sleek Conditioner comes in quite plain packaging which does not really stand out on the shelf. The packaging is almost identical to the shampoo from the same range. This is a creamy white 400ml bottle with a navy blue flip top lid. The lid is on the bottom of the bottle therefore you need to ensure that you close the lid in order to stand the product back up. The bottle is semi opaque and you can see how much product that you have left in the bottle if you hold it up in the light. The bottle is not pretty but it is practical. I found that the shape and the plastic made it easy to squeeze even with wet hands which dispensed enough products but not too much. The design of the bottle also means that it is easy to dispense product even when the shampoo is running low so you do not get a lot of wastage. The claims on the packaging are "This is an important second step to irresistibly smooth hair. Its outstanding formula transforms damaged, out-of-control, frizzy hair into healthy-looking, beautiful, soft and ready to style hair." ***Price*** I did not pay for my bottle of Pantene Pro V Smooth and Sleek Conditioner as it was sent to me free for market research purposes along with the shampoo from the same range. However I did browse the shelves at Asda out of curiosity to check the price. A 400ml bottle of this shampoo costs £3.29. This is a reasonably large bottle and if used daily lasts around 7 weeks. I feel that this is reasonable value and the product lasts a long time albeit you can buy other brands slightly cheaper which are more effective in my opinion. I still feel that in terms of results and price TRESemme is still the brand for me. ***Application*** The directions for use are to apply product to the ends of wet hair, leave for two minutes and then rinse. The conditioner is a pearly white conditioner which is an average consistency; not overly runny but not a thick conditioner either. The scent of the conditioner is gorgeous and like the shampoo from the same range has a fresh fruity apricot type scent. The conditioner applies to hair very easily. When applied to wet hair the conditioner has quite a greasy feel to it which coats all of your hair very easily despite only using a very small amount of conditioner. After applying to the hair and leaving for two minutes, despite being quite greasy the conditioner rinses out of hair very easily and no residue is left on the hair. After rinsing my wet hair felt really smooth. ***Results*** I used this conditioner mostly alongside the Patene Pro V Smooth and Sleek Shampoo. After drying my hair I noticed that my hair felt smooth and very soft. My hair had a shine too it but it was not as shiny as I would have expected and my usual TRESemme conditioner leaves it shinier. My hair felt very smooth and soft but when trying to style my hair it was difficult to create styles with volume and when I tried to curl my hair with my GHD's the curls dropped out very quickly and by lunchtime my hair looked extremely flat. What I found to be the biggest drawback of the Pantene Smoot hand Sleek Conditioner was that my hair became greasy very quickly. I felt after washing my hair in the morning by the following evening my hair felt overly greasy and it looked lank and flat. What I did like about the conditioner (and shampoo when used together) was the scent of my hair; this was gorgeous and the fresh and fruity scent was apparent all day without being too overpowering. I have also used the Pantene Pro V Smooth and Sleek Conditioner alongside other brands of shampoo (TRESemme, Toni & Guy and Trevor Sorbie) and still encountered the same problems as I did when using it alongside the Pantene Shampoo from the same range. Therefore I just do not feel that this conditioner suited my normal to greasy hair type. It left my hair looking too lank and it went greasy a lot quicker than it would using my usual TRESemme conditioner. Therefore I feel that this is probably better suited to those with dry hair types as it smoothes and tames frizz. But not for those with fine hair as the conditioner is quite heavy and weighs hair down. After using this conditioner colour wise my hair did start to look dull quite quickly. My hairdresser advised for those with coloured hair to use conditioners which are protein based as opposed to oil based (Pantene Smooth and Sleek is oil based apparently. This prolongs the colour and protein based conditioners do not strip the hair follicle of colour whereas oil based conditioners do. ***Overall*** I was not overly impressed with the Pantene Pro V Smooth and Sleek Conditioner and do not feel that it suited my hair type at all. My hair did smell gorgeous after use and was left frizz free so lived up to some of the claims on the packaging. However I did feel my hair became greasy a lot quicker after use both alongside the shampoo from the same range and also when used with a different brand of shampoo. My hair lacked volume and I felt that it was too soft to style. In my opinion this would be more effective on hair that is dry and quite coarse. Those with fine hair will find the Pantene Pro V Sleek and Shine Conditioner weighs it down a little too much. Average price for a below average conditioner.
I have been trying lots of different shampoos and conditioners lately in the vein hope to try to find a cheap alternative to Pantene. I tend to go for buy one get one offers, or heavily discounted offers. I have stopped this now. I am sticking with Pantene. Pantene is a Procter and Gamble product and seems to vary in price and size wherever I go. So please watch out. I have seen them on special at Asda, advertised on TV and found that the bottle was TINY. I have recently bought a bulk load from Tesco at 2 x 400ml bottles for £4.00 They are usually around £3.99 for this size. But I can't really comment on the price that much given the weird sizing pricing policy they seem to have with different retailers....odd. The packaging in not very inspirling and doesn't look great in the bathroom. Its a irridescent white opaque bottle, with a large very dark blue lid on the botton so the product if ready to go instantly. the text abnd graphics are in dark green. Very very basic looking an d a little cheap. Not an issue, mearly an observation. The blurb states Pantene Pro V Smooth and sleek high Performance conditioner. Beautifully smooth hair throughout the day. The product is thick and white. smells very clean, not overly perfumed and not a scent that I am able to identify as a specific flower or essential oil. It is a simple, clean smell that I will be so bold to say is very unoffensive. The product covers the the hair shaft really well and can really coat every strand well, and I can weave my long hair on the top of my head and leave it there for quite some time while in the shower. ******** Results ******** I allow my hair to dry naturally. I am left with glossy long frizz free hair. It has left it smelling clean and really lasts without being overpowering. My hair feels very very soft, and is very managable. A day later, my hair is even better. It hasnlt gone greasy at the roots and there is no frizz at the ends, which is a really problem for me. Overall, i will highly recommend the conditioner. It is wonderful and fullfills everything it promises. A fair price for a great product. Stock up!!!!
I have naturally frizzy hair which can sometimes be a right pain, especially on the fringe where it all ruffles up and goes kinky and dry. I know some people like the dry and kinked look, but I like smooth and straight, so it is crucial that I use a shampoo and conditioner which delivers this. Pantene is the most popular haircare range in the UK and it is not surprising, their products are quite cheap and they generally deliver good results. I have been trying out lots of different shampoos of late and also using the matching conditioner. I tried this one recently to see how it would affect my hair. How To Use: After a shampoo, I dispensed a small glob of this into the palm of my hand. It comes out quite quickly and in a thick white liquid. You need about the size of a ten pence piece, which should then be worked through from root to tip. I tend to leave it on for about a minute to reap the full benefits. I then rinsed with warm water, followed by a cooler blast which helps to seal the hair shaft. I blotted dry with a towel before drying the hair on a low heat hairdryer. Results: Not bad results actually. It definitely gave the hait a polished look and running my hands through it felt sleek without that greasy residue that some conditioners can leave. Did it tame the hair though? Well it did help a little with the frizz, but I still had the kinks round the side and front, though these can be rectified with a good straighten. What is did deliver was managable and shiny hair. You will pay about three pounds for a large bottle of this stuff and if you use it in conjuction with the shampoo you well get pleasing results. Worth trying out if you want to get sleeker hair.
