Advantages: Tames frizz, leaves hair smooth and easy to style

Disadvantages: Leaves my roots slightly greasy

If you have read any of my previous reviews then you will now know how much I suffer at the hands of my hair! It causes me no end of frizzy stresses and don't get me started on what happens when it rains! I would love to say I buy the best shampoos and conditioners but unfortunately my budget doesn't allow it so I have to try and buy what ever is on offer and hopefully it will suit my hair. I really like the L'Oreal products but I could not find this on offer anywhere so that is what leads me to the product that I am reviewing today... Pantene Smooth and Sleek.

I did read the back of the product to see what the conditioner promised and as it did appear to suit my hair type I decided to go with the offer of buying the Pantene conditioner and shampoo for £4.00 (the shampoo and conditioner normally retail at £2.49 each for the 400ml bottle) This offer was exclusive to Tesco but Pantene products can be found in most of the other Supermarkets as well many high street chains such as Superdrug, Wilkinson's and Boots.

As previously stated the bottle of Pantene conditioner that I brought was the 400ml bottle but you can buy the smaller sized bottles, which come in the 250ml size. Pantene also offer a wide range of products, which are individually suited to various hair types, you can find out which one suits your hair best at www.pantene.co.uk. The website also offers some great tips and advice.

Back to the product that I purchased, the smooth and sleek conditioner, the bottle is made from plastic, can be recycled and is mainly white in colour. Each variety of shampoos and conditioners come with a different colour and the smooth and sleek range is green. The Pantene logo is found clearly marked in black writing on the front of the bottle as well as Pantene's promise of 'Healthy Looking Hair in 10 days'

On the back of the bottle of conditioner is a lot of information on what the product can do for your hair as well as directions for use, ingredient listings and ways to contact Pantene (Who is a product of the popular Proctor and Gamble brand)

To dispense the product is really easy, at the bottom of the conditioner is a black flip lid which then reveals a small hole, if you then squeeze the bottle (lie you would toothpaste!) the conditioner is then released. I tend to use an amount of conditioner that is equivalent to a 50 pence piece; you really do not need a lot.

You are advised to apply the conditioner from the roots of your hair to the ends and then rinse away, no different to most conditioners. The conditioner promises that you will be left with 'beautiful smooth hair throughout the day.' I have to say that my hair was not as frizzy after using this conditioner. Although I still use my GHD's after washing my hair (it really is that frizzy!) that as I was drying my hair it was not as frizzy and certainly did not need the GHD's running through it as much.

I noticed a difference with my hair as I began to towel dry it off, there were less lose bits of hair starting to curl and frizz up and as I ran my comb through it felt a lot softer and easy to style as the kinks were not there.

I do have one complaint with the conditioner though; it did leave my roots feeling slightly greasy. I thought it may have been because I had used too much or I had not rinsed the conditioner away properly but after trying to reduce the amount and really rinsing my hair my roots were still a touch greasy compared to when I have used other products.

I would still like to recommend this product as different hair types suit different products and as I was buying the product on a cost basis rather than buying the conditioner I normally use I can not complain too much, I have to say that the shampoo in the same Pantene range is very good.

In summary, although I feel this conditioner leaves my roots a little greasy it does also do what it says on the bottle and leaves your hair feeling smooth and sleek and when you have hair like mine this is a great achievement of any product.

I give this conditioner 4 out of 5

Thanks for reading.

Summary: Give this one a go... especially if it is on offer!
