Advantages: leaves hair soft and shiny

Disadvantages: none

I've used lots of bad shampoos and conditioners in my lifetime. They've all cleaned my hair, but if thats all I wanted I'd quite happily use washing up liquid. I don't believe the adverts I'm never going to find a conditioner that will change my life or make me look like a supermodel, all I want is for my hair to look healthy and in good condition after washing. My hair is thick and slightly on the coarse side, so I need a conditioner that smooths out the rough bits. I discovered Pantene a couple of years ago and have stuck with it. I used to use conditioners for a couple of months that just used to stop working as effectively on my hair, this hasn?t happened with pantene.

Pantene have a number of different types of conditioners: smooth and sleek, sheer volume, radiant colour, perfect curl, classic care and their new brand repair and protect for dry, damaged hair. I tend to use smooth and sleek because of the above mentioned coarse hair, although I've used perfect curl and classic care in the past with the same results. Apart from maybe the conditioner for coloured hair or dry/damaged hair I don't think there is the huge difference the advertising and bottles would have you believe.

Pantene smooth and sleek conditioner comes in a plastic bottle that is upside down from most conditioner bottles. It's slightly pyramid shaped with the narrowest point being at the top and the bottle getting wider until it reaches the bottom which is where the lid is. So basically it stands on its lid. You can buy pantene from all supermarkets and chemists. It comes in two different sizes 400ml which costs about £3.49 and 200ml which costs about £1.99.

On the front of the bottle it says that pantene combats the six signs of unhealthy hair, which immediately makes me think 'crikey there are that many'. Apparently the six signs are weakness, lack of shine, dryness, being unmanageable, have split ends and being lifeless. Pa
ntene's website www.pantene.com have a lot more about hair and what can be wrong with it. The smooth and sleek bottle promised to moisturise dry, straight or wavy hair for a smooth and shiny look. It's big ingredient is pro vitamin B5 which is supposed to be good for hair. Personally my hair usually looks soft and shiny after conditioning with pantene, although there are times when nothing seems ot work on it and it would be nice to wear a hat all day.
