I had stopped using Pantene products on my hair for a long time as I was beginning to feel like they were actually making my hair look a bit flat and lifeless. That was about a year ago but since then I have returned to using a few products on and off again. I have to be careful what I use on my hair as it's really prone to greasy roots but it also has the added problem of dry ends and split ends into the bargain. I have used products on the Pantene Sleek and Smooth range before but they really didn't suit my hair type as whilst they did wonders for my dry ends, they really did contribute towards making my roots even greasier than they were before.
However .... I have started to use Pantene Hairspray which is also in the Sleek and Smooth range and this works well for my hair for some reason. I paid quite a bit for this standard sized 300ml tin of hairspray a few weeks ago, £3.49 to be exact but I thought I'd give it a try as I had been reading about how good it's supposed to be, it's also designed to be suitable for all hair types and it was being promoted as good for frizz and humidity. My hair isn't particularly frizzy, but it can be quite fly away so I thought hat this might work for me.
All I can really say about this hairspray is that it does still allow for natural movement of my hair whist it adequately keeps my style in place. I would have actually preferred it to have slightly more hold as one or two pieces will inevitably fall out during the course of the day. The fragrance is nice, quite a bit stronger than I had anticipated, but it soon wears off after the hairspray has had time to dry.
It's the sort of hairspray which doesn't leave my hair feeling as though it has build up and it doesn't look like it's got hairspray on. It brushes out well and washes out well without leaving any residue behind but in all honestly, I cannot say that it does anything for me personally in terms of fly away hair. My hair will still fly away at odd angles and maybe I need something slightly more industrial strength than this particular spray can offer me. It's not as good as I had hoped it would have been as it's too gentle for me and I feel as though I have to spray a lot of it to get the sort of result I want.
Overall, I'm not especially pleased with this hairspray. It does an okay job abut really I also think it's quite overpriced and it's the name I am possibly paying for rather that the hairspray's ability to do what it states it can do for my hair.
I only give it three stars and that's being really generous.
Pantene Smooth and Sleek range is a really good range for those people who have frizzy, course or dry hair as it really works well to smoothen the hair follicles and prevent frizz. There are a few products in the range and they all work well together to stop frizz. I wouldn't recommend the range to people who have even slightly greasy hair as it might make it greasier but for all other hair types there is something in the range that should suit you.
The one product that I don't think it matters what hair type you have is the hair spray which I know I can use even if my hair is greasy without making it look worse. Although it is designed to be used as part of the smooth and sleek range you could easily use this on its own as it is a really good hair spray to use.
The hair spray works really well to make sure that my hair doesn't fly about and it is also strong enough to keep any styles in place. I especially like to use it when curling my hair as it stops the curls from falling out.
It gives my hair a lovely shine to it and it does help stop my hair from frizzing up when I have left the house. Like the rest of the range this is great for me to use in the summer time as that is when I suffer most from frizz from the humidity and this goes a long way to stop that from happening.
Although it is strong it doesn't feel too heavy on my hair and it doesn't give that horrible hardening effect like so many other hair sprays. It keeps my hair from flying about with the wind but it doesn't feel stiff and still has some movement and bounce to it. It also really helps with the static effect that my hair can get when it is feeling a bit dry where random strands of hair will just be sticking up.
This costs about £3.50 for a 300ml can and as you only need to spray hair lightly for a good hold the can lasts a long time. I usually only buy Pantene when it is on offer as I find the shampoo and conditioner to be slightly expensive but I do think the hair spray is excellent and it is something that I regularly buy even without the benefit of a three for two offer.
I found this hairspray in the reduce part of the beauty isle in Tesco for just £1 so decided I would give it a go instead of my usual as it was a bargain for a 300 ml can. Like most hhairspray'sit comes in a tall bottle with a spray applicator at the top of the bbottlelocated under a lid. It claims to have extra hold which with my wild hair it certainly is put to the test.
As instructed on the back of the bottle I began to spray about 25cm away from my styled hair on this occasion curled as soon as I got out the bath. Made sure the whole of my hair was covered by some of the hair spray and then set off on my day. I did not find my hair sticky or heavy was still soft to touch just a llittlestiff as it should be.
I found that it did work very well it held my fly away hair in place and kept the style all day without me having to worry and that was with a fairly small spray of it around my styled hair. It held from early morning around 8a.m.all the way uuntil7opm at night so a good 11 hours of hold is good for my hair.
It has a very sweet yet chemical scent to it but after about half an hour the chemical smell does get better and the sweeter smell takes over making my hair smell nice. That night I brushed my hair out and found I could do so very easily after my hair still looked ok not bbrilliantI would not have wore it down as ilookedvery dull but when put up it looked good.
My only downside to this hairspray is as I ffoundout from experience there is a thin line between good hold and hair looking good and over doing the hair spray and your hair looking and feeling dull and stiff.
I would rrecommendthis hhairspraymy usual £1.50 hairspray works well but this is slightly better. At double the price at £3 I do not think there s that much of a difference to justify a double the difference price tag.
I am not the biggest fan of using hairspray as I don't like the way it makes my hair feel, however on some occasions there really isn't a lot of choice. I was going to a party and wanted to curly my hair just to add a little something extra to my usually straight hair. The only problem was that I knew if I didn't get hairspray to hold it in all night then the curls would loosen up and fall out. I went to my local shop and they had the Pantene Smooth and Sleek in stock so I had no choice but to just get this one as the curls one must have sold out.
The front of the spray is quite plain but it is obvious it is a Pantene product due to the logo and the simplicity of the can. Each range has its own colour scheme so the sleek and smooth one has a green metallic swirl surrounding it as this is the range colour.
HOW TO USE
This hairspray is designed for women who are busy and don't have time to be straightening and relying on styling time. This makes straightening hair very easy, the spray gives you a whole day of sleekness and shine. This spray is to help tame flyaway hair and if used with the shampoo and conditioner in the same range, it will really help keep hair straight and smooth to touch.
This spray should be used about 25-30cms away from you hair and should just be sprayed over the style as a finish.

I followed the guidelines as stated and sprayed from quite a good distance away as I know if you spray too close this is when your hair will get hard and sticky feeling. The smell of the product is quite nice very soapy scented but it is nicer than most other hairsprays. In a 300ml can it lasts a long time as I bought this and have been using it the odd time I have been going out or when I've wanted hold on my hair and its still here a good few months later, it just depends on how often you use hairspray.
I sprayed this to hold my curls and it did feel a bit sticky but soon dried into the hair and the curls stayed in place the whole evening which I was impressed with. My hair felt soft to touch which was amazing considering how much I sprayed to keep it in place.
Not only did I use this to hold in curls but sometimes I will spray this over hair after straightening to keep it in place and it definitely adds shine. I think it is good for up hair do's as well as just a back up way to keep hair in place and stops silly fly away hairs that can be annoying. I think the spray is a good buy even if it is a little bit more to pay you know it is a good brand.
If you want to buy this spray you can buy it in Boots, Superdrug or most supermarkets. I know the RRP is £3.29 for the 300ml can but Superdrug are currently selling it for £2 so now may be a good time to give it a try.
The official Pantene website has some information on this spray if you go to http://www.pantene.co.uk/
I was bought this hairspray by my mum. Her reasons for buying this particular hairspray out of all the other brands was because she knows that I am fond of the Pantene brand.
*** The Product
This is a antistatic hairspray, it is 'strong hold' and so that we can compare just how strong hold this product is it has 2 out of 4 stars for the strength factor. It comes in a tall slim slender can and is 300ml. I have been using this since just after christmas and I can hear when i shake the can that I am coming to the end of the product. So overall lasting power its lasted a good soild 2 months and still going. I use this pretty much daily so Im happy with its life.
The initial smell is first chemically howver when this fades it leaves a nice fragrance, however you don't have to worry about it being overpowering and it dissolving into your perfume.
*** The Claims
"Keep it under control! Control frizz and flyaways. This all day (antistatic) formula with great frizz control makes it easy for you to hold on to your individual style while also letting your hair shine. Brushes out easily.
I can agree with this, as even when I spray quite a lot of this product, I can't feel it on my hair yet it keeps my little flyaways in place. I can spray this and back comb my hair and it does leave it sturdy enough to create a birds nest, yet it combs out nice.
*** Would I repurchase
Im used to only paying a £1 for any old hairspray as most of them seem to do the job, I would buy this product again, however in the future I think I would try out their next strong hold up spray from this, just to see if it holds more yet still brushes out as easily. And I would also maybe looking at what other high end brands are around a similar price, as this product is avilable in Boots and most other places for around £3.27.
Hope this Helps :)
I always have to have hairspray in the house and I find it very difficult to find the right one. I have on two occasions found a suitable hairspray and after a few weeks they seem to stop selling them and I'm back at square one.
Recently Pantene Smooth and Sleek Hairspray was on offer in Morrisons at £2.00 for a bottle, size 300ml. Usually they are priced at £3.15 which I think is quite expensive. There are a few different types of Pantene hairspray and in Morrisons there was Straight and Sleek and Ice Shine. I decided on Smooth and Sleek as it sounds exactly how I like my hair.
At the bottom of the bottle it shows 4 circles which measures the strength of that particular bottle. In the case of Smooth and Sleek two of the circles are coloured in which shows it is not overly strong. This is perfect for me as I like my hair to look natural and not be rock solid. When I turn my head I like my hair to move at the ame time and not all in one go 5 seconds later. This hairspray is great for this look.
There are a couple of other things that I think are important in a hairspray; one being that once it is sprayed on it doesnt leave your hair with a frosting like a dewy spring morning. It needs to be really natural. Secondly it should be easy to brush out and not leave flakes in my hair. Pantene Smooth and Sleek ticks all the boxes for me.
Pantene Smooth and Sleek is an antistatic spray that keeps flyaway and frizzy hair under control and leaves your hair looking shiney.
Directions for use: Start from about 25-30cms away and simply spray over your finished style.
I find Pantene really easy to use and I dont need to use too much to give me the look I want. This hairspray is definitely worth the price and it does last a decent length of time, although I do check to see if its on offer when I go shopping.
And it does have one other very handy use, if you are trying to catch a spider (which are pretty fast) spraying it with a bit of hairspray will slow it down just enough to catch it and evict it.
I have also tried the Ice Shine spray which wasn't nearly as good, it made my hair look like a spider web that was wet. Not a good look. So for me Pantene Smooth and Sleek wins hands down.
