Advantages: Leaves hair smelling great, soft and smooth

Disadvantages: None at all

If you read my previous review then you will have seen that I have recently tried the Pantene Sleek and Smooth conditioner, buying the conditioner was part of a deal exclusive to Tesco where you buy 2 bottles of Pantene for the price of £4.00. As part of the deal I decided to buy the shampoo of the same variety, the Sleek and Smooth Product.

As I said in the review on the conditioner I used to buy the L'Oreal shampoo but as I am always on the look out for a bargain when I could not find the L'Oreal brand it was the Pantene product that jumped out.

Pantene have a number of different products available on the market, each product being suitable for different hair types. As my hair is prone to frizz and really reacts badly to damp air and rain I do really struggle finding products to suit it and control it.

The bottle comes in the same design of the conditioner. The main colour of the bottle is white whilst there are black and green colours throughout it. The Pantene logo is clearly marked on the front of the bottle as well as it stating that it is for 'smooth and sleek hair'. I admit to looking at all the other products in the Pantene range as they all looked like they could benefit my hair in someway but when I started to look at what the product promised I decided that I would go with the sleek and smooth bottle.

The back of the bottle is where these promises are made, you are told;

" the collection fights roughness, flyaway and frizz leaving your hair beautifully smooth throughout the day"

The back of the bottle also gives you directions for use and full ingredient listings. The bottle is easy to grip if you have wet hands whilst washing your hair in the shower and the shampoo is really easy to dispense.

All you need to do is flip the lid and squeeze the bottle. The flip lid is found at the bottle unlike the conditioner where the lid is found at the base, this sounds simple but helps me in the shower as when bottles are identical I have the tendency to often pick the conditioner up first and end up wasting it as I have already dispensed it before realising it is not the shampoo!

I put a very small amount of shampoo onto my hands, the size of a walnut perhaps and then work the shampoo all through my hair, gently massaging in and covering my hair from root to tip.

The shampoo has a lovely soft scent about it and I can smell it for some time after washing my hair, it is not overpowering but light and fresh. The shampoo lathers up really well and lots of foam is created!

It is important to then rinse the shampoo well so you are not left with greasy roots or a build up of shampoo on your roots; I find there is nothing worse than having hair that is left with excess shampoo or conditioner on it.

The directions on the bottle state that once you have rinsed your shampoo you may repeat if necessary. I have never found that I have needed to repeat the process.

All in all I am really impressed with this shampoo, it cleans my hair and it does what it states on the bottle, leaves my hair feeling soft and smooth. I do use this combined with the conditioner which I think does help but all in all this is a great product and I have no hesitation in recommending it.

5 out of 5 stars from me

Thanks for reading.

Summary: Give it a go, it has worked really well for me!
