Pantene Smooth & Sleek Shampoo
Advantages: Leaves hair looking and feeling good
Disadvantages: Leaves static and hair is a bit flyaway
When it comes to shampoo, I often purchase products that are on offer, no matter what the brand but at present I am using Pantenes Smooth and Sleek Shampoo as they had a '3 for the price of 2' offer in Tescos recently.
I have mixed reviews on the Pantene range so I wasn't sure about this one but thought it was worth a try as I really liked the sound of smooth and sleek hair!
This shampoo is white and quite thick so it is easy to control how much is dispensed from the bottle. You can recognise it on the shelves via its pure white bottle bearing the usual Pantene logo and the bottle has a flip cap lid. My only gripe with the bottle is that I prefer ones that stand on the lid which helps to get the dregs out of the bottom when you are reaching the end.
A 250ml bottle of shampoo at full price tends to cost around the £2.50 mark, though from most stores you can often get these products on offer so its worth looking out for these offers before purchasing to see if you can grab yourself a bargain!!
The first thing I noticed about this shampoo was how well it lathered up. I applied it to my soaking wet hair and massaged it in and it created a really thick, creamy lather over my hair and it felt quite luxurious which was nice. Although the lather was thick, it rinsed out well and didn't leave any nasty, sticky residue on my hair and my hair felt squeaky clean after washing. I did use a Pantene conditioner alongside this shampoo as my hair type needs a separate conditioner with every wash, though it wasn't the conditioner that matches this shampoo, but another in the Pantene range that I was trying to use up.
My hair felt like it had been given a good, thorough clean afterwards, though I knew the real test would be the look and feel of my hair once it had been dry and styled. My hair is quite knotty by nature, hence the need for a separate conditioner, so getting a comb through my hair can sometimes be a tricky task, but the comb glided through my hair like a knife through butter which impressed me. I was also left with a really sweet smell on my hair which was also still rather evident after drying.
As with every other aspect of this shampoo, the end result was a positive one. My hair looked clean and shiny and felt soft too. My hair did become rather static after using this one which was rather annoying and quite a shame as the shampoo in general had really enhanced the look of my hair and really did make it look sleek and feel smooth and soft, whilst giving it a good clean in the process.
Overall, the cost of this shampoo is reasonable, it gives your hair a nice thorough clean and rinses out easily and leaves your hair looking and feeling great. The static and flyaway hair was an issue which means this shampoo loses a star but generally, this is a really decent shampoo and comes with a recommendation from me, though not a high one.
Summary: A decent shampoo in the Pantene range
