Advantages: Easy to apply, smells good, no sticky hair
Disadvantages: A bit pricey
I have short hair that is very thick and is quite dry, it is not too damaged as I generally don't use straighteners and only wash my hair every few days. My usual hair washing regime simply involves shampooing, rinsing and drying. I don't use conditioner with every wash, it makes my hair feel too thick and sticky, however I do use conditioner perhaps every 2 weeks depending on how my hair feels. Today I decided that my hair needed a little help, it was a little dry looking.
Through the post a while back I had received samples of Pantene Time Renewal Shampoo and Conditioner and had put them to the back of my bathroom cupboard. Today I was looking for a conditioning product and came across the sample so decided to give it a go.
The product
Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Time Renewal Conditioner. Comes in a plastic tube, the tube is mostly gold and white with a band of green, the lid is black, on the sample it is a screw cap but on the actual size bottle it snaps open and closed, handy for setting the product down when in the shower. On the back of the product are the usual directions and ingredients and details of the manufacturer, Procter and Gamble UK.
The product promises to "help fight signs of damage by restoring hair's sheen and silky feel". The conditioner itself is a light bluey/lilac colour and is very thick and creamy, it sits up like a walnut whip when you squeeze it out, and it smells pleasant quite natural, almost fruity not too perfumed or artificial smelling.
Application
I shampooed and rinsed my hair and then applied the conditioner, the directions state to apply to wet hair and comb through with the fingers beginning at the tips and work to the roots. It doesn't state that you need to let the conditioner stay on for any particular time span, I left it on and rinsed it off at the end of my shower. The smell was pleasing and not overpowering, I used a whirl of the conditioner it spreads very easily and you don't need loads. The conditioner rinsed off really easily.
Results
After my shower I towel dried my hair and then finished off with the hairdryer. I find that very often conditioners leave my hair feeling sticky but there was no problem with this conditioner, my hair did feel smooth and silky and looks quite shiny. It hasn't left my hair too fly away and it was easy to style, all in all I found the product very reasonable and I will certainly use it again. My hair smells clean and fresh and not overly perfumed. The directions recommend that you use it with every wash, but for me I will stick to every couple of weeks.
The product is available in supermarkets and chemists, currently priced at £2.99 in Boots but there is also a 3 for 2 on selected hair care products offer currently running. More information on Procter and Gamble products can be found at www.pg.com

Summary: A reasonable product that I would use again
