Advantages: GOOD QUALITY SHAMPOO WHICH PROMISES LESS DAMAGE TO HAIR.
Disadvantages: CAN BE RATHER EXPENSIVE UNLESS FOUND ON OFFER...
Like most females (nor being sexist here, it is a well-known fact we women spend a minor fortune each year on cosmetic/toiletry products), I like to try new products as they are released for my hair, in the desperate hope I can find a miracle cure for the damage I do to my poor forlorn locks on a daily basis.
Therefore when Pantene released the 'Time Renewal' range I bought both the shampoo and conditioner in the early days of its release.
Bizarrely enough however, on having four weeks in Cyprus last year, I found the 'Pro-V Restoratives' range on the Cyprian supermarket shelves far sooner than I found it over here!
This bottle is red-logo'd with 'Breakage Defence' emblazeoned across it, rather than the green labelled 'Time Renewal', but are still part of the same Pantene family.
Perusing the bottle, which, thank goodness was written in English due to the heavy Ex-Pat population of this most gorgeous sun-soaked island, it stated 'this advanced system leaves weak and exhausted hair more resistant to breakage'. Now all things British cost a minor fortune over there, so the cost of this product equated to nearly £6 in 'our' money. Nevertheless, I needed a decent shampoo, and Procter and Gamble the manufacturers, are generally a very reliable name in the consumer world of toiletries.
200ml in weight in an attractive black-lidded flip topped long, slim bottle and promising more 'resilient, healthy looking hair' along with less hair breakage due to combing and styling, I decided it was definitely worth a shot.
On using the shampoo I found it to be pleasant-smelling, but not overpowering - a bit like the lovely aroma of freesias, but far more mild.
The liquid itself was quite thick and blue in colour; very sleek - almost pearlised in appearance, and not too lathery, which I personally prefer a shampoo not to be.
My hair is very over-processed, as like most I use a myriad of products to achieve my 'look', but believe that I have helped the overall condition of it over time by using the Pantene Pro-V Restorative shampoo and conditioner duo.
Now on the back of the bottle it does state: 'Use daily'. However, unlike me not everyone washes their hair on a daily basis. I don't have a problem having this routine, but it is the accepted view it's no good washing our manes that regularly.
In my experience I would definitely say, that although I put my beleaguered tresses through hairstyling hell every day, I do believe this creation has helped it against its owner's brutal daily onslaught rituals; thus would definitely recommend this pleasant-smelling luxurious shampoo to my fellow dooyoo'ers.
It seems to be even gentle on conditions like dermatitis, a consideration if 'perfumed' products aggravate your sore skin...
Top Tip
*******
Keep an eye out for Pantene's Special offers. This item generally retails at around £2.99, but can often be found for two for £4 - not unreasonable for a good quality shampoo...
Summary: DEFINITELY WORTH A TRY, IT'S EVEN KIND TO YOUR HANDS - LET ALONE YOUR HAIR!
